However, his talk of reducing losses and increasing turnover through more attractive football to entice a small % of 600,000 that CAST data revealed to be favourably disposed toward the Club, combined with increased sponsorships etc but WITHOUT necessarily getting into the Championship, does suggest he's contingency planning should that 5 year goal be unattainable.
It's open to debate how realistic that plan is, although I know some will reiterate that it isn't and that his assumptions are wrong and I'm not going to argue with them.
Edit.. and when can we expect you to re-sign 😎1 -
Doubling turnover when in league 1 feels very unrealistic. Especially when you are trying to do that by increasing match ticket sales after a steep price increase in a cost of living crisis5

My guess is a third or so increase at best from £10k to about £13.5k, but they're fag packet calcs at best. I expect someone on here will audit them anyway though 😎0 -
There are thousands of football fans who live near the Valley who simply aren't interested in League 1 football, and no ticket offer would persuade them to turn up to watch it. We need to get out of League 1 ASAP.19

The only way to seriously increase match day attendance is to get promoted.
The average away support alone at the valley would increase enormously in the championship with plenty of teams bringing 2 or 3 thousand fans every other week.
Sandgaard has a vision of what he believes is achievable in league one.
Unfortunately it's not.17 -

Unfortunately it's not.
His targets may not be prove to be achievable, but by setting them it drives the initiatives and policies that go toward trying to achieve them and I'd still expect to see a significant reduction in year on year loses, so less than £8m, but not halving that to £4m for this season, which I believe is what he's aiming for.

Sandgaard comes from a business world where you increase sales by appointing more and more high-pressure salesmen. Take at a look at the Vacancies on his Zynex website ... almost exclusively sales people.
This explains the preponderance of phone calls to existing season tickets holders for hospitality packages, 'bring a mate' promotions etc.
His Zynex products are built on dreams. They may or may not provide clinical benefit ... but they do provide hope to pain sufferers. That is what he sells.
He fails to understand that, in the football world, while Hope is a key part, ticket sales are based on the quality of the product. Not hospitality, not Upbeats burgers, not the 'matchday experience' ... but a winning team.
Hey, Thomas. Football 101.
Get a successful team and the rest takes care of itself.10 -
Does anyone really sponsor Charlton in the hope of a return or is it more a gesture of goodwill .
I can’t think people are expecting their firms business to improve significantly enough for the return to be justified on the outlay, maybe I’m completely wrong , someone ask that NFT mob or whatever they are .7 -

I was told last night that we've reduced our Sports Science team from 5 staff to just 1. Not quite sure what to make of that.0

Personally, I am not fussed about the cost-cutting (apart from people losing jobs), clearly the club can't continue to run the way it is.. Fans also need to an element of responbility.. If we are not going to go to games, the budget is only going to get smaller.. I understand club needs to excite us to go to matches.. But I believe this could be one of our better seasons, our identity and style of play has changed hugely, to a positive exciting way of playing!
I know I am supporting from afar, but I still can't get over how poor our crowd was for the QPR match.. If I was sitting in TS shoes, I would be like, F*&K them, if they can't support the club, why should I keep putting my hand in my pocket!
Time to stop with negitivity, and get back to supporting the team again.. It is going to be a good season!5 -

Who wants to buy an asset less club losing £8M pa?
If he can halve the losses he stands a better chance.1 -
