Summer 2022 transfer rumours (Gilbey loan confirmed p513, a signing falls through last minute p541)

Can't believe I've come home from work to see a Bonne rumour. Someone make me feel better and tell me it's all BS.

Maybe Cawley’s source stuttered.

Whilst not my first choice (or second, third…) I would take Bonne over nothing, especially if Garner thinks he’ll fit the system which Stockley plainly doesn’t.

Thats just it... By the sound of things we've got a couple of names we're looking at - Worst thing we can do is put all our efforts into signing one player, and ending up with no one if that falls through.

No.
The worse thing we have done is leave it till today.
We have had 3 months to sign a striker and should have done so earlier.

Wait are we the only side getting business done today?

If only our owners had the same sort of experience of working in Football as the majority of our fans... Oh wait

I would bet many of the people on this forum are and would be far more clued up about Charlton/running a football club than the ownership from what I've seen to date.

If only they had someone with football experience in the fold then it would save them a lot of headaches and that's largely the point.

Nonsensical to see Washington leave 3 months ago, rely on an injury ridden Aneke and gambling young Leaburn to potentially be sole goal scoring rival to Stockley who is seemingly  not naturally compatible with the desired system.

On ITTV someone is saying that Terrell Thomas is currently training with us.

Another ex player to throw into the mix.

I always liked him: he walked like Jar Jar Binks - worth the entrance money alone.

He lives near Crawley

He moved earlier in the year. Had been near me in Dormansland for a while and used to see him in pubs/restaurants our way, so asked where had he been hiding at the POTY dinner and he told me where he had moved to.

Is it still near Crawley?!

We few, we happy few, we band of siblings.
For they to-day that reads with  with me
Shall be my sibling, be they ITK or nay.
This day shall gentle their condition;
And Addicks in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their fanhood cheap whiles any speaks
That read this thread with us upon transfer window day.

Once more unto the Covered End,
Once more. Or close the wall up
With our Millwall dead.

Cawley says Bonne being considered

If so then I'm out.

Out of what?

You’d stop following the club for signing a player that you don’t personally rate?

No "out" as in breaking cover and asking for Bonne's hand in marriage.

Not gonna let him slip away again no siree!

Look, if Angel Di Maria wants to see out his days in SE7 - who are we to deny it?
