I keep seeing comments taking a dig at Lifers who are optimistic or have yet to be convinced that we're going nowhere under the current owner, but I'd ask you to consider that they're fellow supporter's and, just because they haven't yet reached THEIR threshold of evidence to come out and openly condemn the owner, it doesn't mean they never will, it doesn't mean they believe in everything he does, it doesn't mean they think he's done nothing wrong and they only want the best for the Club too.19

Does the team lack characters? They're certainly not scary. Lots of neat players, but only Dobson seems to have any grit.

Out all day so didn’t watch or follow. We really could have done with something positive after the midweek meltdown.Tough place to go, not been the easiest of starts. Not going to make any defining judgements yet but Inability to keep clean sheets when we are already struggling with attacking problems is a concern. Garner is going to have to tweak this.Sheff W lost at home job front of 28k, Derby similarly in front of 27k. There are clubs with much bigger supports, budget and expectations struggling with this league as well19

12th in league one and I suspect that is about the right position for Charlton now.4

No proper left back, no striker suited to the way we try and play. Morgan still not good enough, not enough defenders in the squad. Not really trusted TS since he came in, wants everything to be about him and when he walked round the pitch at Wycombe that was what tipped me over the edge into not liking him. Like under Roland we have been left with a decent first 11 but no squad which will ultimely cost us yet again.
Only thing I will say about todays game their first goal was a blatent handball and should never have stood.4 -

Brownie was very good on the defenders constantly not getting tight enough, and not blocking shots, contrasting with the likes of Santos who was top of Stockley all game.
Thinking about it, the one defender we had who liked to get tight to attackers and do the ugly stuff was Jason Pearce. Nothing I've seen about Lavelle suggests he's anything more than an average L1 defender who's reached his ceiling.4 -
The really annoying part is this team we have has some really good players for this level. But there simply is not enough of them for a top 2 spot.
The owner has set his position very clear, limited funds will be spent, unless the Manager over performs we are stuck at this level. Daft stance to rule as the owner will simply use more of his own funds to keep us afloat, but as he says this football business is easy. Maybe us doing this for years are the fools
Was right in line with their first goal, clear handball5 - Sponsored links:

I think it was a bit harsh singing you’re nothing special we lose every week after our 2nd loss of the season but we move.3

I am neither surprised nor worried that we lost to Bolton, although the performance was discouraging. We’re way too reliant on Rak-Sakyi for inspiration, albeit a fit CBT will give the opposition something else to panic about. If both are fit we really should be winning the next two games and that in turn will change the mood. Fail to beat Exeter and it might get ugly.24 -

Sadly I predicted we'd lose 3 or 4-1. We just don't have enough to beat teams like Bolton. We'll get turned over by both Exeter and Barnsley coming up.
We don't play to Stockley strengths and he's not good enough as a lone striker.
I fear where we'll be come Christmas, god help us if we get a few more injuries.2 -
Dreadful - we will be in this shite division season 2023 / 24 - the lack of a striker up front who can play this system starkly brought home today
TS states he didn’t like the system last season in terms of how we play - brings in manager to ‘create’ that system - but then utterly fails to provide him with the resources (in terms of players) to execute it

A depressing performance to round off a disappointing and depressing week. Only Fraser, who I thought had by far his best game for us, Rak-Sakyi and O'Connell played at all well. Collectively, we allowed Bolton far too much space and we were profligate with the ball with poor passing that included several "suicide" balls across the pitch directly to them. Clayden was ok coming forward but showed his defensive frailties, and the lack of effective support on our left flank from Kirk meant that we were always vulnerable there. Lavelle was shaky in defence and like Bambi in boots coming forward. Big Stockley spent the game in the even bigger Santos's pocket. I won't go on, it's too painful.
I really like Garner but he was too slow with his subs today. Jack Payne for the tiring Morgan would have been a decent option from about the 65th minute when Bolton were getting well on top. CBT was given too little time to affect things.
The promising fluidity seen in earlier games has been missing since we hammered Plymouth. I hope we can get things back on track against Exeter next week, and FGR the following Tuesday. Six points which should be there for the taking, if we're at our best.5 -

Not doing what I told them, not doing what we worked on.
But he has done it in a way that doesn't sound like he passing the buck.4 -
PWR.
Not at game nor did I watch a pirate VPN service so no comment about the match itself. Also wont be posting much this coming week as I've frankly had enough. TS dont care so I wont either.
Suffice to say a half completed squad will only get you so far. I hate being right & hate being slagged off for saying so.....so I'll leave you to fight it out amongst yourselves and ponder how teams like ipswich who actually spend money & recruit properly, can then win away at Accrington (such a hard place to go to I'm told) and go top.
When people finally take off their blinkers & realise that the plan after all was to rely on the youth players & free transfers then we might be able to have a sensible discussion on whether the assembled squad can finish anywhere near the top 6.

Exeter will be a tough match, especially as we're now under a bit of pressure to get 3 points.2

Any thoughts on the studio guest for next Saturday?0 -
If Garner is complaining about the squad that is concerning and perhaps his expectations haven't been met in terms what was proposed when he took the role.
Wouldn't make sense for him to complain if not.
Not heard his comments yet but have read a couple of posts suggesting he's made comments about squad depth is that right?
EDIT just seem Louis' above tweet. Damning.7
