I can only hope that was a random act, because if it were targetted at the owner it's pathetic and criminal behaviour. Whoever done it if a CAFC fan should go join the thugs at Millwall.

Most likley came from shooting practice at Sparrows Lane
The rock was on target, so I doubt it.

I think it’s time we got an updated version of Addicks to Victory - that’ll raise the morale
Addicks to draw or lose doesn't have the same ring to it.

Couldn't we buy those Irish Football goals for The Valley where you get a point when you kick it over the bar? Would give our missers a new lease of life.

Anyone hear that TS has had to borrow money this month to pay wage bill or some of it? Don't know how true this is.. 300K
Not heard that and no idea, but I'm sceptical.  We haven't won in six league games now, so some will want more ammunition to fire at the owner, even if those particular bullets should prove to be blanks. From whom did you hear that if I might ask? Was it someone ITK?
I can't say where I heard it from - but this person could be ITK.. Not giving much away I know.. Low crowds is really having an impact on him now.

Your fan(s) that did this (if indeed it turns out to be that a fan is to blame) is to our fans of the 70s/80s, what Banksy is to Blek le Rat.

Late to the party imposters  ;)

Well at least Schofield and Willoughby might buy a membership. The way our attendances are heading I don’t think a queue jump is going to be that much of a benefit

Wasn't there a similar rumour back around May time?

That's because the delusional fool believes he could fill the valley even though we are in league one.

I was speaking to a former businessman who I know well.
This businessman I know is a huge Charlton fan. He used to put some money into Charlton early 90’s and had a box, used to know Peter Varney quite well.

He thinks the reason why we’re not investing in the team as much as we’d like is the owner does not own the Stadium or training ground.

Ah yes. How well I remember those halcyon days 🤣 Alan Simonsen...what? Beating Chelsea 5-2 at the Valley, eh! European footballer of the year netting a brace and Colin Pates scoring an OG, before he signed for us of course. Then there was young  Terry Bullivant marshalling our MF. Oh yes, those were the days alright! Bring back Peacock!

Can't see it, it didn't stop Sandgaard initially. He hasn't got the funds, pure and simple.

Do you have a Glassdoor account - I can’t be bothered to open one, but it looked like they’d just had an annual “give us a good review” day in the office. Lots of reviews from Friday, which seemed a bit odd, but then I ran out of free views.
Yeah there are a lot that say "this is my first day and I love it already" or something of the sort. It's quite strange.
With the turnover of staff they appear to have,  maybe they've thrown a load of false reviews in just to get people through the door?
Always possible. They may also ask people to leave a review as part of their onboarding. I don't know, but it feels...intentional.

The taking out loans to pay labor might be a cashflow/liquidity thing and not necessarily a sign of lacking wealth. It's pretty common in my sector where it can take 45 days to get payment from the Government to take out a loan or series of loans to pay wages, especially at peak times of year (which could be a time like the summer when we're signing players who will require signing on fees which I believe tend to be paid up front moreso than transfer fees).

Obviously I have no insight into this, but I do feel like the "actually he's skint" rumors come up with bad owners. Sometimes, as we learned the hard way, the rumors are true. Despite what I may think of his business practices, TS does own a successful business and has clearly made good money from it, so I think there are more likely explanations even if this is true.

Also, if this rumor were true, I would think there'd only be a handful of people not related to TS who would know about it. So I'm kind of skeptical that it would get out.

What's he trying to achieve with that? Points b) c) d) are flawed in my opinion. If you want to build yet more flats look first at the soulless shopping areas north of the Woolwich Rd. Greenwich council would have a fight to grant planning permission. Who would buy a loss making 'club' to play their home games somewhere unrelated to their ancestral home?
Greenwich Council wants all the retail parks north of the Woolwich Road to become housing/mixed use eventually - it’s in the masterplan for the area. (This is already happening on the Old Kent Road where the retail barns are coming down.)

That’s where housing development will be in the next decade.

Guess there could be a distant possibility of building a stadium closer to the river and then using The Valley for housing - swapping one plot of land for another - but that would have to overcome all the problems with building in an old chalk pit on a side street with a huge sewer underneath, and the unequivocal backing of the council, which I can’t see happening as they are very fond of their masterplan for the riverside.

Also The Valley is a good local asset for the Borough. They don’t want to lose it to Kent.

I don't see that Mark Hulyer has this right, in fact, I think there are a number of points that cause me to think it's wide of the mark. Firstly the Valley, as Airman has pointed out, is not as everyone believes, ripe for development and if Sandgaard wanted to make any money out of the ground he'd have to own it first. I don't think he has the sort of money to tempt Duchetelet and the obstacles to development would drastically reduce his profit margin. Now I'm not saying that Sandgaard is not considering all options but to dump Charlton out of their ground and try to develop the ground under the watchful eye of Greenwich council is I believe history repeating itself. Was this not exactly the scam that the spivs tried to pull by promising a near and richer relative prime real estate, The Valley, and a stake in a site on the old Metro gas land by the O2.

In the last 60 years Mark Hulyer is the guy who took us the closest to going out of existence - moments away from court liquidation- I think he should keep quiet
He did, but trying to defend the indefensible here, he was young, naive, ambitious, and passionate about the Club, briefly giving us hope when making a marquee signing signalling his intent to take us back to the top flight where we hadn't been for so long.

Trying to live the dream was destined to fail, the road to ruin paved with good intentions. Some of his successors can't use the same excuses and should have known better imo.

Hulyer's tweets outlining a convoluted long game plan have me bamboozled though. Is he expecting Thomas to buy the Valley off RD for £50M, that being the sale price agreed with  ESI and now irrelevant. RD is under no obligation to sell to anyone at that price, Thomas having negotiated a 15 year lease agreement instead of agreeing to buy at that ludicrous valuation.

That said, I've no objection to Hulyer giving his opinions as he's clearly interested in what's happening now.
