Another good performance definitely the better side on the day
We should have won that by 2 or 3 but at 1-0 you are always open to them getting that one lucky break which Isted handed it on the plate to them
Gutted with the draw but happy with our game overall
We fought for every ball shut their game down just lacked that cutting edge in front of goal but that will come now we are dominating play
Sadly it was only a point but they all add up so
Onwards and upwards

We are looking such a different outfit compared to six games ago Pre-Nathan Jones’ arrival. A few bits to sort out - thought Alfie was too hesitant in front of goal today for example, but in general more and more confident we will survive and I am enjoying watching us more. Isted did fcuk up but he did not hide and to have come to both sides where us fans were to apologise both hands in the air was a brave gesture which we reciprocated with applause. We are together, we will survive and next season we will take it to everybody… COYRs27

Let's hope Alfie and Kanu can make it up to Harry by banging them in on Tuesday with Alfie having more incentive than most.
We did on the match day, the same as we are on the match day of Isted's calamity.
I mean, we could all play that game and bring in random facts from the past. But that's all irrelevant.

These freak mistakes that we’ve seen all too often this season happen to every club. Let’s just hope under Jones, with the defence looking a lot better, the Isted one is a rare case rather than a weekly occurrence as it had been under Appleton.
Will be interesting to see who Lloyd jones comes in for on Tuesday as feel Gilleshey has nailed his spot down, if his fitness allows2 -

some serious defensive training needed, or maybe a realism check that sometimes just bloody hoof it upfield 🤔
I am sure NJ will get it sorted by Tuesday,,, bloody hope so…
Well, the surgeon was happy, and apparently the norm is next day sent home, but can’t say that I feel that is on, apparently If you have an early admission, mine was 12-15, then it could be same day😫
But it went ok must say, apart from the obvious pain, the f’in catheter, and now for the weeks of physio, and of course next Tuesday…🙏6 -
His second error in the same incident cost us. First, Thomas shouldn't have had to pass it back to him he should have been out to smother.
A sickening loss of two pts.3 -
Sickening end to a game we should have won. Christ what a mistake just kick the ball why do goalkeepers try and do the pissing about in the box routine. So frustrating. Lapado total waste of space. Looks absolutely hopeless. Why he came on who knows. Ahhhhhhhhhh😡

After a quick start and a goal Northampton woke up and grew into the game some, although we had the better (half) chances it was much of a muchness and quite an even half.
Second half and they came out looking better but still far from world beaters, pretty much a continuation of the first half with us edging it for quality of missed chances.
We really couldn't find the final ball and thanks to the old friend Mr defensive cockup making a reappearance. Won't blame Isted too harshly he's been an improvement on AMB.
Made the comment in the match thread that the subs would make or break the game, our bench was noticeably weaker today, and well, yeah.
Honestly, had us down as losing this (and the next tbh) so although gutting to drop two points, will take the draw.
Special mention to REG,.thought he looked very good today and got.forwaed very well as that underlapping(?) CB.
Extra special mention to T Watson. Thought he had pretty good game too and has improved a lot since Jones has come in.
Extra extra special mention for small. I know it's only been a handful games and we've made this mistake plenty of times before but, get a new longer contract in front of Thierry Wiggins. Pleeeeease.
(You like that one Leutho)5 -
Oh dear same old individual fuck ups exist that cost us results. I know that things like this happen in League 1, but until we eradicate them, we will stay in league 1.
An talking out of my pocket. The twat cost me over £400 in winning bets…. It was a women’s premier league error.2 -
Lmao all the people betting on Charlton should really know better.12

We dominated that game. We really should have been 2 or 3 up before we gifted them their equalizer. The only real chance they had and we handed it on a plate. I’m sure NJ was livid and I don’t blame him. Onwards and upwards though. That performance was very encouraging. We are slowly moving away from the bottom 4 and dragging more clubs into the mix.2

REG and Coventry were brilliant today, Small seems a player too. Dobson was poor though and I don’t think him and Coventry should be in the same lineup. Despite the goal Anderson was below par but don’t blame him, he’s young and played alot of minutes recently.Dare I say it, but I’d have liked to see Scott Fraser have a run out in this team.13

Why not? He made a monumental cock up that cost us two points.
I mean, it happens and don't throw him under the bus completely, but it is what it is.

Very puzzled that people don't seem to be able to just accept that and move on, rather than looking for alternatives.9 -

You obviously didn't see the amount of errors de Gea and Lloris did when they were at United and Spurs in their last couple of seasons.
Cock up for Isted but if the goals from open play hadn't dried up for May then we would've had enough to compensate for the heavy touch of the keeper.
We need to be at the races for 100 minutes on Tuesday as it's a six pointer in the sense of a big swing to the victor.

Didn't see the game, but from the reports it sounds like a frustrating 2 points dropped. However I'm going to take heart from the fact that
a) we didn't throw it away completely, as we probably would have done earlier in the seasonand b) results elsewhere largely went our way, so Port Vale's games in hand aren't enough now, and Shrewsbury and Cambridge are right back in it.Tuesday's going to be a bit of a nervy one, but hopefully Isted will have learnt from today's cock-up, Alfie will have his shooting boots on, Chuks will be back for another defence terrifying cameo, and Mrs @LouisMend will have kept hubby home for some urgent DIY or something.10 -

"Seemed to get caught in possession every time he got the ball and when they had it they were strolling past him.
I was surprised he wasn’t pulled off at half time , offered absolutely nothing all night."

Come on Isted did make a mistake and cost us the game, but the same could be said about Dylan Phillips, but because we won at at Wembley in a far important game, it didn’t seem to matter and he. had a great season the following season.1

And the last thing this new look hard-working, battling, never give up team needs is Scott Fraser dicking about in the middle of the park!5 -
I'd love it if we got Dillon Phillips back.6

Based on what now feels like 8,000 years of watching Charlton shoot ourselves in the foot I said at 4:34pm on the match thread that we’d regret it if we didn’t score a second. We did regret, and I’m sure we always will in those circumstances.
One other comment that I’d repeat is, as bad as Isted’s mistake was (and it was a shocker), we should have been multiple goals up by the time it happened. We won’t go down this year, but that lack of a killer final ball that cost us today needs to be addressed in the summer if we’re to make a real promotion push next season.11 -

gets focused on more than a player who doesn't put away a decent chance.5 -
The whole sequence for the goal is comical here. They were doing the same thing, if not worse, at the back. Alfie should’ve done better. They get away with it and not even 15 seconds later we get done under similar pressure at the other end.6
