Think he did better at Sunderland than Stoke partly because it was more of a 'Head Coach' role at Sunderland and Manager at Stoke so he had more say over transfers and it went wrongForeverAddickted said:

Bizarre appointment by Southampton, given the guy was just sacked after only 12 games for being terrible at Roma.
Looking at his time at Genoa is amusing though, being sacked THREE times by the same club in less than 2 years must be some kind of record.On 28 June 2016, Jurić was appointed as head coach of Genoa. Despite victories against AC MIlan and Juventus he was sacked on 19 February 2017 after a 0–5 defeat against bottom-placed Pescara.
He was reinstated as Genoa manager on 10 April 2017 and guided Genoa to safety with one game to spare following a 2–1 victory against Torino. The following season, he was dismissed again on 5 November 2017 after a 2–0 defeat in the Derby della Lanterna.
On 9 October 2018, he was appointed manager of Genoa for a third time. On 6 December 2018, he was sacked again after losing to third tier Virtus Entella on penalties in the Coppa Italia.

Not the best choice of words when your fan base is calling for your head.
Imagine if Nathan Jones had said words to a similar effect after losing to our rivals and not being too popular anyway, my word.
They've finished top6 in back to back seasons. They now sit outside the top6 with a negative goal difference, playing poor football.
Every team that currently sits above them, they were above last year except for the two newly relegated sides, whether it be league position, or the 2 teams who were in in the league below.
They also have one of the better squads in this league. They are massively underachieving atm, and choked autos last year.
If I was in their position after the last 3 years, I'd be pissed off as well.0 -

The fans have settled down and he is doing a good job

Those are not reactions from fans from a club that's doing well. I'd honestly argue that they're worse than us considering their projections, their last two seasons, and that they've built 4 seasons or so to amount to this. I'd be livid if we had Jones for 4 years and were watching the likes of Wycombe, Wrexham, and Stockport above us, pissed off as is.0

A tough time for the smaller NW clubs. Fleetwood have an 8 point cushion at the moment over the bottom 2, who are currently Morecambe and Carlisle, with Accrington 3rd bottom, all teams we've played recently in L1.
