And please can we send Bree back. I have no idea what has gone wrong but surely we have someone else.2

Overall a good result and we more than matched the league leaders.
Conceding early was disappointing, but we didn’t collapse like I thought we might, and showed that there’s still confidence in the players. Some real positives - JRC - keep it up! Kelman shows he has the class we need in the final third, Bell - so much more confident with him at LCB over Macca, some nice saves from TK.Special mention to Coventry and Leaburn - they got through some work. The negatives - we play with wing backs, but have one fit wing back (Bree) who is clearly lacking confidence and needs a rest. TC is not a wing back, the space down their right in the first half was like Boro at home all over again, and it’s what led to their goal. With Edwards out the only answer is that we need to sign someone and quickly. Berry - still shows glimpses, but doesn’t have the engine to press like Knibbs or Carey.
I’m still confident that we have enough to avoid the drop, but we are in need of a coupe of new players that must improve the starting 11.
Lastly, well done to us, it was a cold one at the Valley today!6 -
This is what I find so frustrating with our players.panther10 said:Carey bareing dowm oon goal at the end if only got a decent pass away then we would have beat them
As you say a decent pass and it's 2-1 to us.
It can't be that hard, can it?+4 -

Very encouraging performance, great point and could have won it.
JRC so important for his willingness to play forwards and drive, ideally we have Carey with him who can carry it as well.
Mad what has happened to our set pieces, from our biggest threat to a complete waste of time. Jones isn't one to change his mind lightly but pretty clear we need someone else on these, at least for now3 -
No complaints from me. What we lack in quality in some areas we more than make up for in desire and work rate. Thought Bell and Burke did very well seeing has how they have been out injured a while. Jones was immense. Kaminski made some vital saves, just wish he'd hold on to the ball a bit more. Coventry was outstanding, back to his best. JRC was MOTM, makes you wonder why we haven't seen more of him , no wonder he was cramping up near the end but he'll start Sunday, will want to make a point. Leaburn battled away well, just wish the ball would stick a bit more but can't fault his work rate. CK had a great game and did brilliantly for the goal, strength to hold off the defender, pace to get in the box, got his shot off realising if the keeper saved JRC would be there to get the goal his performance deserved. Not going to criticise TC who was poor defensively but he's not a defender so not his fault but he was not great going forward, mostly first half. Sad to say, Berry isn't up to starting, would rather see Carey there.
If we can get a LWB in I'll be a lot happier and then we might be in to see the best of TC again. Bree's gone off the boil but I'd still make his move permanent, we know there is a player in there. With JRC emerging I think we can manage in midfield with the person else we have until the summer but if we can get another in then great. Another option up front would help although I think Leaburn/Kelman could be a good long term combination but I'm not sure Miles will ever score enough goals.
All in all very encouraged by today's showing. 4 points from the next two league games would be lovely, six even better. COYA.10 -
Bit unfair based on his performance today which was decent.Doomer Jon said:And please can we send Bree back. I have no idea what has gone wrong but surely we have someone else.
What was hopeless once again were his corners. Can't we get Declan Rice down to the training ground for a couple of days to show him how to take one?
If not, will Jones please tell him not to take any more.2 -
Leaburn should of came off instead of kelman. You could see he was running himself into the ground with no more in the tank. Reckon had we not been on the run were currently on, Jones would of rolled the dice and replaced Bree for apter, as our speed did a number on them today. Really would love to see an Anderson/fullah/Costello midfield at some point, as I think that will be the only way to get our forwards scoring.2

We played Coventry at the right time after they have had a sickness bug running through their squad but that is to take nothing away from a decent 1st half and an excellent 2nd half when we took it too the runaway leaders of the Championship who scored goals for fun other that their last two matches !
Joe Rankin-Costello showed he isn't just for cameos and had an excellent game with the reward of the equaliser and he covered some ground in that role with plenty of skill.
After no points from Norwich and Pompey it was paramount that we got something today and the 2nd half should give a big lift to players and fans alike.
Bizarrely even though Coventry weren't at their best they still had 5 great chances to score which they normally take.
Playing a right footed forward at LWB is tough for TC and once we get Josh Edwards back the better with Bell, Jones and Burke as the CB's if Burke fit with Ramsey at RB or RWB.
We need to turn our defeats into draws and our draws into wins and then we should climb a few places.
It's the hope that kills you.

I went with the attitude of it’s a free hit, a well deserved point in the end. I would argue we did all the hard work and dominated vast amounts despite not having Coventrys better quality, good performance and it wouldn’t have been harsh if we had won it.

I’d like to be able to look back at the teams recent run of terrible results and say they deserve it, however today’s game continues the theme of “let’s see if we can make things more difficult than we need to despite what the opposition wants to do”.

We got the very least we deserved with that draw, part of me is disappointed we didn't get the winner, because on chances created we would have a good shout, but a draw is a much needed point added to the total.
What a player JRC is proving to be, with MOTM performances against Portsmouth and now Coventry, why Nathan waited so long to play him is strange, he's now undroppable it seems.
Must say that so called ref was a real disgrace to the profession today, and I will also say that it looked all ends up a penalty, and also that Kitchin should have got a second yellow and been sent off for that foul on Leaburn, couldn't believe it wasn't given, the ref was a real bottle job when it came to the tough decisions,
So on we go to Ewood Park and another 6 pointer against Blackburn on Sunday, and where we are in with a great chance of all three points...

I said we would get 8 corners before the game and we actually got 9.We had one good one when Burke had a good header early in the game but 3 corners didn't get past their first man.The rest of the corners didn't go in the box rather were passed back to about 10 meters outside the corner of the box for another player to cross into the box.The problem with that is the opposition (and us as well) all move forward out of the box as the cross is hit in, and then we are trying to head the ball in from a 12 meters with all the defenders and goalkeeper easily spotting where the ball is going and a what speed.Just 1 good corner from 9 is not good enough and now all the opposition teams know we have a problem on delivery and they also know that if they do the basics well, such as moving out of the box quickly, we are never going to score from a corner. We had 9 good chances to put the ball within 5 meters of the goal but failed on all but one.Win at Blackburn and we are back on the right road again. We played well today and the players are working their socks off to get it right.5

Yes to Kanu.2121 said:I thought kelman was wasted next to leaburn who always seems to be on his heels and not ready / anticipating or in position for the flick ons. Could we put carey alongside kelman (or dare i say it, kanu) ?3 -

Really good point, with that extra bit of quality, nouse could have been 3. Hopefully that performance encourages the people saying we are definitely down and we are going to get pumped because it’s Coventry and they will win because they lost they’re last game to think a bit more and rather than use they’re energy putting the boot in actually support us first and foremost. That was a team performance busting a gut for the manager, epitomised by the effort from JRC to get into the box and get his reward, he was MOM for us before he scored. The importance of Kelman is now obvious along with the defenders coming back. No doubt we need some extra quality and composure going forward but today proves we are up for the challenge. Don’t give up on these players so easily, there’s a lot of learning on the job and now the board need to help NJ with some quality additions.5

Less able to defend, we'd concede more with him at RWB. Fine if we get a proper LWB but it's a no from me at the moment. I'd love to see him tried in the 10 role.golfaddick said:

And neither can Campbell. We’d be ridiculously exposed with two wing backs like that.9 -
Predicted us to win 2-1 and we weren't far off. Need to be more clinical with our final ball - too much possession wasted in the final third.
Bree's delivery was poor once again. We have wasted so many setpiece opportunities in the last few games.
Made Coventry look average today and can't fault our effort. Hopefully the goals will come...2 -
Playing Apter and TC at wing back is suicidal. Just look at the Southampton game where we tried 2 wingers as wing backs. Bree plays because there is no one else, when he’s fit he’s a good player but it’s obvious he is not fitgolfaddick said:

A brilliant and much needed point. I expected Coventry to rip us a new one pre game and then expected it even more after 2 minutes but the boys showed grit and didn't let their heads drop. With a bit of quality we would have had the 3 points. Swansea looked a better side than Cov imo.
JRC immense. MOTM.3 -
Haven't read anything yet but i'll say right now, after watching that today, we won't be going down. Things like the Portsmouth result happen but i think we're about to start hitting some form and with the right additions, we'll be comfortable.4

Would love to see him at least tried in the 10 role , he's a very clever player and I think with Carey off the boil and Knibbs looking best as a 30 off the bench impact sub I'd like to see it tried.LargeAddick said:

For all the good that Nathan Jones has done I can't get over why he insists on Bree taking the corners. Its starting to look like a dereliction of duty. Doing my head in now.4

I thought Leaburn looked knackered - he puts in a shift. Shame about the main miss2121 said:Great point!
costello was great.Kaminski good saves (although always parries it back into the danger area)
kelman also great.Surprised leaburn didnt come off as was holding his hamstring early into second half and, i thought, was generally ineffective.0 -
Don’t understand what people watch at times. Leaburn has started 3 games in a week, and put himself about well again today. Towards the end of the game he chased a Coventry player back to the corner and put in a slide tackle. If your strikers doing that and you say he’s putting no effort in then wtf are you expecting from him?Valleysarr said:Anyone understand why Leaburn makes no real effort ?42 -
PWR. A really good response to the last 2 results and especially after going a goal down so early. JRC the stand out but Kelman also impressed again.
Seen far more impressive sides than Coventry this season. Perhaps they had an off day but can see the likes of Ipswich catching them.
A performance to give me hope for the rest of the season, even more so if we manage this transfer window well.
