The luge and the skeleton are mental. Think it gets to like 90mph.
The first person to do it must of just tripped, fell and slid down a bob sleigh track head first and then it gets turned into an Olympic event.

The hockey is going to be amazing. Tkachuk got battered by Hagel this week in the NHL, I don't think he'd start a fight in the Olympics, but you never know - he is that stupid. Canada looks unbeatable, but goaltending for them is a problem. Sneaking feeling that Sweden might win it.

Why are Americans so embarrassing? USA bloke comes down the luge and his team mates start doing rock hand signles whilst sticking their tongues out

Finland won it last time didn't they? are they not as good anymore?
Oh but I did read the NHL players are allowed to play this year so guessing it would mean USA and Canada should be the strongest.
  • Any good Winter Olympics on tonight?

Snowboarding big air atm. Just don't listen to commentary, plus don't look at the pretentious first names a lot of the competitors have.

I never get all the gangsta signs either from Snowboarders

It's weird, i know it does have skate board vibes but they really need to realise they never grew up in east LA in the 1970s or 80s. Far from it in fact..

Watching the Big Air. These commentators are being rather personal talking about the size of the competitors backsides.

I know I've already said but am really enjoying the drone shots. I noticed they were doing it on the luge track... Difficult but impressive that they manage to do that.

Yeah - NHL players make a massive difference - like NBA players in the basketball at the summer Olympics. Finland are still strong, but they don't have the depth the Canadians, Swedes and Yanks have. Czechia are a good team too

It’s pretty revolutionary. You get a much better idea of speed, height and danger

I dunno - I got a pretty good idea of the danger the first time I saw it when I realised it was the equivalent of sliding down a frozen waterchute on a tea tray. Mega drone shots though, for sure.

I was more talking about for the ski/snowboard events

I first saw it earlier for the skiing freestyle and to see them in the air whilst the valley and the mountains are in the background just made it look so impressive. But yeah as you say you get more of an idea of what they are kinda of experiencing.
  • It must take some bloody good skill to control the drone and get the right shots too - I use one myself for Photography, and they're bloody fast to try and control the lower it is

Yeah that's why the luge one was so good. Skill to follow along that very tight track.

Ouch that was a big hit for the Japanese rider going for the 2340.
  • Love the commentary during the Ice Hockey whilst showing a toddler
"It must be difficult for them to understand whats going on" - To be fair I'm 42, and I dont have a f**king clue about the rules either
I spend most of my time trying to work out where the puck is..
    wtp?
  • Never been a fan of Snowboard, apart from the Cross competition - But that was really fun to watch!!

🤞 It's not as serious as it looked and sounded with her screaming in agony.

Absolute nonsense. There's nobody else in the US women's setup anywhere near the podium. She was the only one with a chance of a medal. What should she do - pull out to give somebody else a chance of getting tenth?

A US athlete won gold and is the world champion, what do you mean no one else is anywhere near the podium?
