[cite]Posted By: The Red Robin[/cite]3 of the top 5 today for me: Don't Push It, State of Play & Hello Bud....Just wish I'd put more on!
[cite]Posted By: ISawLeaburnScore[/cite]you're not the only one.. I'm funny about that, whenever I get a decent bet in, I always think why not higher stakes lol never content!
Pure greed! When I do finally decide to stick more on it never comes in!
[cite]Posted By: PeanutsMolloy[/cite]Cheers AA,
Your fellow made it past the water jump, that was quite a result ;o)
lol He actually, in the main, jumped soundly today but it was rather a repeat of his Hennessy run when he just didn't seem to be able to lay up with the pace. Then, of course, he went and won a hurdle race the following Saturday.
It's not my race anyway - the last time I backed the National winner was West Tip so I rather hope none of the Lifers were silly enough to follow me (and Ballyfitz) over the cliff!
The drying ground did him (and the likes of Dream Alliance) no favours - was a brutal pace (Conna Castle stood no chance of getting the trip, the clip he went at). Quickest race time time since 1995. Thankfully no fatalities.
Better luck next time.
[cite]Posted By: ISawLeaburnScore[/cite]Plenty of deserved praise for you on here PM! I have to say that even though DPI fitted some of the more basic stats I looked at, and had McCoy, I probably wouldn't have parted with any money if you hadn't of flagged it up on here. Rated 2** in some of the rags... you came up with the goods again!
Only just realised Snowy came in 6th. In the old days, firms like Sunderlands used to pay out on 6th place (probably why they went bust!) - we'd have cleaned up ISLS!
Cheers mate - let's have another bash next year.
oh my word. Just got home to check my paddy p account. I actually won another sum of money on 4th place and my first initial winnings were on DPI!! PP were slow in putting in and i couldnt read my account properly and last time i checked it was 4.36 and just assumed what was in then was my total winnings. So now i am totally ecstatic. I didnt even the 3rd horse so why i kept saying to people i had 1st and 3rd. its hard to read off the phone when your eyesight is failing.
Oh god thank you Mr Molloy. So chuffed. woooo hoooooo

Calm down dear, its only a horse race.
All the best.
Well had a quid on Don't Push It as saw the number 6 in the paper just before hand, had to have a bit. Happy enough. Good tips by the look of it PM! Grats everyone who made a few bob!!
Just got back from Soton, we were unlucky, should have got a point.
Anyway, I saw the rerun at midnight without knowing the result and what a star you are :-
1st, 4th, 5th and 6th from 6 selections !
I opened an a/c via CAFC with Stan James, which paid out on 5 places.
As I did them all E/W I got 3 pay outs and won back the money I lost at Cheltenham.
Thanks & ever so well done !
Normally would have been pi**ed with the result at St Marys but have to confess I wasn't paying full attention to CAFC yesterday. Nice to soften the blow anyway.
Well done for getting the 5th place covered.
All the best.
[cite]Posted By: JT[/cite]Same CE -Sky plussed it, watching it i thought hello bud was going to win
Well done on SoP JT - a grand sort. And my mother-in-law sends her thanks. Your positivity persuaded me to put her shilling on it each way. Moloney's a very underrated pilot.
Cheers.
Most kind Carter. Well done on the 2nd - lovely feeling that when you've got the front 2 at the Elbow and they're well clear.
I need to go away and figure out why my model didn't rate Black Apalachi - needs a tweak.

Portland Bookmakers on Kingsman Parade (woolwich dockyard)did.
Snowy Morning e/w for me.

Too right it was a nice feeling, I'm a bit gutted (through greed) that Hello Bud didn't win as that would have paid for a nice holiday, but a good, good national either way.
I also owe you thanks Peanuts, very impressive stuff. Just about paid for my Glastonbury ticket this morning as I got on him at 25's. I shall have a brilliant weekend in a field in your honour good man :-)
I actually had Black Appalachi e/w so i got abit of cash back. Reading back through this thread tho, i really should listen to Peanuts for next year. The man is some kind Grand National Messiah ;-)

[cite]Posted By: carlsberg[/cite]i will be. i locked DPI at 20-1 gutted i only done 2 quid each way. but cant grumble at 54 quid!!
Thanks peanuts you really do know your stuff.
must admit wasnt convinced when i saw that sweat dripping off him.
Thanks Carlsberg.
That sweating up got me in a bit of a lather - the firking about with KJC and the false start hardly helped. McCoy said that DPI really enjoyed himself over the fences but you've got to hand it to AP - a brilliant ride.
If Denman is entered next year it will be interesting to see how the handicapper frames it - DPI ran Denman very close at level weights over 2m 5f as a novice but of course there was more than 2 stone difference in pre-GN Ratings. Could throw up a rare opportunity for back-to-back victories if DPI gets in on a workable weight or he could hand it on a plate to Nicholls if he overdoes compression of the handicap. Could be quite an interesting betting market when the weights are announced.
In any event, the model has been tweaked - Black Apalachi is explained. Ready to roll next February when the weights for GN 2011 are announced.
Cheers.
PM - straight from the Owner's mouth in today's Racing Post:
"Despite all the knocks, and having now jumped 21 of those fences, hopefully it will pour with rain next Grand National day, which Ballyfitz would really like, and all being well, he and jockey David (Evil Knievel) England will be able to stick two legs up to all his critics!"
It seems I'm not the only one willing to follow the nag over a cliff!
