Suing your own employers not the best policy!
  • What about the other guy Richard Keys?
  • Been sacked? thats a disgrace! they obviouslt wanted rid if him before

By the letter of the law, rightly or wrongly, they were perfectly entitled to.

Especially considering the equality laws that have come into place which effectively means anyone who is offended by what you say (even if not directed at them) can make a complaint etc etc.

what did he do in December?

Seems more and more like they wanted him out and this was how they did it.

If people think it's a disgrace then ring Sky and cancel your subscription.
  • If you dance with the devil, the devil don't change. The devil changes you.
  • There's another one Andy Burton. He's suspended for Weds night again making a remark!
  • From Twitter:

Decision taken to withdraw Sian Massey as Assistant Referee for this evening’s League 2 between Crewe Alexandra and Bradford City
  • Mike Riley of PGMO: “PGMO & Sian believe that with any match the focus should not be on the officials but on the players & the game itself'
  • good I reckon... the bloke was blantantly out of line.... and sky were perfectly within their rights... its claer they wanted to freshen things up.. hes been with it since the premiership started.. time to move on....

  • haha quality lets hope they get rid of him on fifa cant stand the bloke most irratating person on tv for me!
  • how they can do Andy Burton i never know.

''Theres a female lino today and apparently she's a bit of a looker''

thats taking it to the extreme

As true as this may be, destorying someones career is not the way to go about 'freshening things up'.
  • good, he was up there with tydesley and lawrenson as the most annoying football people on tv
  • A stupid comment to make but an unbelievable overreaction everywhere. Has anyone actually been really that offended by this to cause such an uproar?
  • ive just seen the footage, for the first time.. its not exactly Big Ron is it...

anyway its ridiculously late this end.. im off...

not sure on this one now...
  • I hope they get rid of Keys as well. I have no idea how he's managed to get a job in football let alone keep it for so long. Both of them had ridiculous egos, how long have we been doing this for?

I think it was more for the comment after which mentioned her judgement... but I agree totally OTT and he's just been caught in the cross-fire

The real nail in the coffin has been the tape of him asking Charlotte Jackson to tuck his microphone chord down his trousers for him - Sky themselves have confirmed that an incident in Dec 2010 is the official cause for his dismissal
  • Sacking has nothing to do with pig-ignorance, being out of touch or even just being a rubbish football commentator.
  • "new evidence of offensive and unacceptable behaviour" apparently against Gray.

I do however wonder whether the whistle blower/rat involved in all of this could also have a damaging effect on Sian Massey's career.

Lol i got your joke Gary.
  • perhaps he should've taken the el haj diouf and patrick viera route by spitting at someone whilst carrying out his profession.
  • What a load of tosh, never a sacking.
  • Karen Brady has worked for years for 2 men who made millions by selling soft porn and sexy knickers, basques, nurses uniforms etc (YES, I have had a butchers at the catalogue). Read her column. She depicts most men as silly bufoons who all think that Karen is soooo clever and sexy, ahhhh bless 'em, except that is for LORD (luv a duck cor blimey) Sugar, such a clever multi millionaire tack and rubbish dealer. She is naught but a flash bird on the make. I'll say no more as I wont risk a libel/slander situation.
I dont hear her complain about TV advertising where in many cases men are portrayed as idiotic husbands, boyfriends or as incompetent little boys.

Andy Gray sacked??!! .. Quite ridiculous .. although he has blotted his copybook quite a few times over the years. I guess he'll be replaced by the blander than bland .. Pleat? Hoddle? .. my choice? .. Don Goodman
  • think sky sports will miss him. Tylers gonna need councelling.
  • As Jacob Steinberg from the Guardian has just said on Twitter. " Personally I'd have sacked Andy Gray after his comments about whether Leo Messi could cut it against Stoke"
  • Let's hope they've got hairy hands in a compromising video now (DO I NOT WANT TO SEE THAT!) and we can have a double whoop and get rid of all of them.

I'm sure Gary Birtles has some skeletons in the closet as well... he's got to be next

Thankfully, no woman will ever have to put up with this Neanderthal again. Glad he's gone, but it's not really the reason they sacked him unfortunately.

Earlier this season Keys asked Gray if penalties have become easier to save.
