standing on Welling station this morning, bloke on his mobile (to work I think) moaning that the 6.55 Charing X train was just showing as delayed, then in comes the 7.14 Charing X train (on time) with the next train showing as the 7.18 Cannon St one (on time) and the 6.55 still showing as delayed.

Rather than get on the 7.14 (half empty) one, he continued to moan into his phone that his 6.55 one was delayed and he didn't know when he'd be in......

F#+king shambles this morning. Incompetent arseholes.

I don't get southeastern anymore and not that I'm happy to hear of a miserable commute for you Larg, but I've missed your angry rants. I wish I could join in, nothing more therapeutic than bashing these gits

You're on Southern now, aren't you? I thought they were fairly shite as well, although I suppose once you've sampled the festering turd that is South Eastern Trains, everything else is quite luxurious in comparison!

Not been on here as much as usual recently, but I'm back now and will therefore be providing regular reports on South Eastern's latest pitiful failures.

Orpington to Charing Cross this morning was a bit strange. They said due to the broken down train at Lewisham the train will not be stopping. I expected the train to go around Lewisham station but it took the same route as normal, right through Lewisham station, along the normal platform it stops at each day. It just didn't stop.
Cheered me up locking at the faces of the people on the platform looking at a half empty train they normally get on pass them by at 10mph.
For the life of me I cant think of a reason why Southeastern did this. Maybe they like a wind up.
  • I think I must have missed all the chaos. Was on 07.49 from Sidcup and had no probs

Got my usual train home last night. Didn't stop at Sevenoaks which it usually does. About 30 of us got off at Tonbridge to get the next train back!
They said it was announced but why and I am obviously not the only one deaf!

A spokesman for Southeastern said: "We are really proud of our frontline teams and the work they do every day helping hundreds of thousands of passengers.

"It is disappointing that Peter Hendy’s comments do not reflect their dedication and hard work."

F**k off you w*nker. I despise you, your drivers, your inspectors, your station staff, your friends, your family and your empty words. Tosser.

Peter Hendy wants tfl to take over some of the those lines so he does have an interest in slagging southeastern off.

    Doesn't make him wrong though.

Didn't SouthEastern have their contract renewed recently? Who made that decision and on what basis considering the comments on here.

Claire Perry MP was responsible, renewed the franchise last September for another four years. She described it as a "fresh start" for South Eastern. To be fair to South Eastern, their have been some changes since the franchise was renewed, and they're now even shitter than they were before.

His point about fining is a very good one. I have accidentally forgotten to touch in/out once or twice, gone online, said where I forgot to touch out and just like that they have refunded the difference, and that is online... In person you'd think you would be able to put your case better, but these nobs that work for the train company don't care and fine regardless. Perhaps they wouldn't need so many free vouchers for £25 if they were nice to customers though ;)

We had a mare on southern yesterday - service suspended from West Croydon to New Cross gate. I had to get the bus all the way in.

The twitter account has already said that it will have a knock on effect on the Sidcup and Bexleyheath line.

They've done it on purpose. Got the hump about the strikes being cancelled so they've decided to take this afternoon off instead. Arseholes!

To support this theory, I've just checked the South Eastern website - 4 cancellations listed, 3 of them are " due to a member of train crew being unavailable". Dave's in the bookies, Ron's spending the afternoon in his local and Barry's down at the Glades buying a birthday present for his wife.

Funnily enough, there were problems last week with trains comming into fenchurch street, we joked at the time that all train services would take a turn each to have problems over the next couple of weeks
