1. from one of these stations to another one of these stations? 2. from one of these stations to anywhere? 3. from one of these stations to what is perceived as an acceptable end station? (and who or how decides what is acceptable?)

It'd be easier if you just listed the pubs you want to travel to/from and we can tell you if you can get there for free or not.

As I understand it, statement 1. is correct - from one of these stations to another one of these stations.
I don't think there's any common sense element whereby you can get off at a convenient station that isn't on that list. For example, I work near Aldwych and can't get direct to Charing Cross anymore, so I have to get the train to Cannon Street and can then use my South Eastern ticket to get on the tube at Cannon Street along the Circle and District to Embankment( which is effectively Charing Cross). What I can't do is get on the tube at Cannon Street and get off at Temple, which is one stop before Embankment and closer to work for me - I have to stay on until Embankment.
My sidcup to charing cross train this morning was bliss! On using existing tickets on bus/tube there have been announcements advising those with tickets issued before a specfic date that they need to be changed over at ticket office. Dont know full details but should be some info on the thameslink webpage.
I'm no longer using SE but feel I've contributed enough to still be part of the group.
I work on Northumberland Avenue and used to get a direct Charing X service from Westcombe Park. Now I'm in Forest Hill and ideally would get a southern into London bridge, cross over and get a Charing X service the rest of the way.
That ticket cost me £24.70 a week (prob £26 now). I can't imagine much difference between that and a weekly from F Hill into the London overground terminals.
But because I can't access a Charing X service from L Bdg, I'm now having to use the jubilee line to finish the last part of my journey. Now I have to get a weekly zone 1-3 travel card costing £37.30.
How many more people have they squeezed a bit more out of for the whole of 2015. Gits
I may be wrong as I skim read a leaflet left on the train seats this morning, but I thought one could use their normal train ticket on certain bus and underground routes to get to and from Charing Cross. Worth checking I'd say before you shell out.
@Plumstead_Micky do you know where I can access such info or who to ask? I asked the guy behind the counter explaining that I now pay more because I have to use the tube to complete the last part of my journey, and he didn't get it

Changed mine last week. Literally just took it to the ticket office at Welling and they printed off a new one so make sure you do it if you think you're going to be using any alternative routes.
0805 Sidcup to Charing Cross I think it was. Exhausted before I get to work.
The 7.02 from New Eltham to Cannon street was packed, as was the 7.07 to Charing Cross.
6.47 for me tomorrow methinks.
I also can't see how Oyster are going to not charge money to people not doing their usual route on the tube/bus?
The CS was increased to 10, CX train reduced to 8, result was both were absolutely rammed. Tempted to go the 6.47 as well, although shouldn't have to get in so early just to have a half comfortable journey to work,

There is a planned bus strike tomorrow, the bus companies likely to be affected by the strike are:
•Abellio (Abellio London and Abellio West London) •Arriva (Arriva North and Arriva South) •CT Plus (Hackney Community Transport) •Go Ahead (Blue Triangle, Docklands, London General, London Central, Metrobus) •London Sovereign •London United •Metroline (Metroline and Metroline West) •Stagecoach (East London Bus & Coach Company, Selkent) •Tower Transit
I'm expecting total chaos at Cannon St and London Bridge tonight. Might be a lot of disappointed people not able to board at London Bridge, wouldn't be surprised if there are shutdowns to stop the flow of people onto the platforms.

Hope to be proved wrong!
I imagine that a few of the people that normally use ldn bridge will walk up to cannon street o try and ensure they get on a train

That's got to be the most sensible thing to do I would imagine.
Just noticed something... will be able to get direct trains home from Cannon Street till the early hours. Handy... and yes AFKA you can still go via the MacD's on Cannon Street.

Is that all lines @Curb_It or just the Greenwich line?
Just checked Bexheef line... you have to change at Lewisham from 9pm on wards but there is a cheeky little 00.16 direct from Cannon street with no changes...
Was dreading my new Petts Wood > Hither Green > New Cross commute having heard what you lot have been experiencing but having checked the timetable, the 07:36 Cannon Street now stops at New Cross, which is good news. However, instead of turning this into a positive for South Eastern, how bloody dare they not run this service for the years gone by. Its a bloody disgrace!

Exactly - trains could be rammed before they reach London Bridge.

What time and how empty was it?
7.49, used to be the 7.51 which started at Sidcup but they're running it from Crayford I think. Stacks of seats and less crowded at Hither Green than usual. Also seats were available on the 7.45 fast from New Eltham so I was told. Could just be 'day one fluke' of course ...
Announcement on my train as it entered Victoria this morning after reminding us of the new timetable on this route ...... 'and the departures are at 20 past the hour and about 50 past the hour - not sure yet' - cue shaking of heads!
