Can’t believe we only got 3.5 million for him, considering V V D is joking Liverpool for 20 x what we got for Gomez!
He should have gone for at least 15 million, the sooner we start getting run properly and charging decent money for our youth players the better, you let us down Richard Murray.
Particularly galling the deficiency we currently have in needing 2 strikers could have been sorted a long time ago, instead of enduring Best and Doodo.

Agree with most of these sentiments but I would say Best doesn't deserve to be lumped in with Dodoo; the latter is one of the worst players I've ever seen

This conversation has been done 100 times on here, but I think we did the best we can given that Joe may well not have signed a contract without the release clause, and then we'd have got even less.

I know it has, just hearing them going on about VVD on the trip back this morning on the radio, got me wound up and glad Katrien had left the building, grr.
Gomez and van Dijk partnership has great potential and can only help his development. Hopefully an England regular for many years to come.
I think Lovren will get the nod of him and Gomez will be on the bench but should get a fair few games. Still a risk for Liverpool as a CB but should certainly be above Klavans and Matip.

Interesting article on Joe in todays Mail.
Mind you the goalkeeping was worse for the second.

Whether in a 3-5-2 for England alongside Stones and Maguire or a 4-3-3 for Liverpool.
Stay fit Joe.
van Dijk will be one of the best to work alongside as a Centre Back too
This weekend 3 teams played 3 defenders
Huddersfield
Wolves
Southampton
i.e. look at that knob / look at those knobs.
Hope he keeps his place alongside van Dijk!!
As long as he doesn't get injured or his form inexplicably drops, Joe will be a fixture for Liverpool this season.
