Jeez that was poor by Joe.0
-
Needed a man on though surely0
-
He knew where Sanchez was , looked over then lost him.
Mind you the goalkeeping was worse for the second.0 -
Join CAS Trust and you would have read the interview with Avory in the lastest news mag and know that.killerandflash said:

Can’t believe we only got 3.5 million for him, considering V V D is joking Liverpool for 20 x what we got for Gomez!
He should have gone for at least 15 million, the sooner we start getting run properly and charging decent money for our youth players the better, you let us down Richard Murray.
Particularly galling the deficiency we currently have in needing 2 strikers could have been sorted a long time ago, instead of enduring Best and Doodo.2 -
Agree with most of these sentiments but I would say Best doesn't deserve to be lumped in with Dodoo; the latter is one of the worst players I've ever seenMendonca In Asdas said:Can’t believe we only got 3.5 million for him, considering V V D is joking Liverpool for 20 x what we got for Gomez!

This conversation has been done 100 times on here, but I think we did the best we can given that Joe may well not have signed a contract without the release clause, and then we'd have got even less.Mendonca In Asdas said:Can’t believe we only got 3.5 million for him, considering V V D is joking Liverpool for 20 x what we got for Gomez!

Started at centre back for Liverpool today. Big season ahead for him and hope he can remain injury free.6

Joe Gomez is suited to be a modern CB,
Whether in a 3-5-2 for England alongside Stones and Maguire or a 4-3-3 for Liverpool.
Stay fit Joe.

Has had a good first half so far with not much to do
van Dijk will be one of the best to work alongside as a Centre Back too2 -
Very true. Even Lovren looked decent alongside him last seasonForeverAddickted said:Has had a good first half so far with not much to do

Gomez and van Dijk partnership has great potential and can only help his development. Hopefully an England regular for many years to come.7

I think Lovren will get the nod of him and Gomez will be on the bench but should get a fair few games. Still a risk for Liverpool as a CB but should certainly be above Klavans and Matip.Sage said:Gomez and van Dijk partnership has great potential and can only help his development. Do any of the top teams now play with a back 3, now Chelsea have reverted back to a back 4?0
-
Not top teams, but just looked at lineups on flashscore(not always correct outside prem, but prem is normally spot on)killerandflash said:Do any of the top teams now play with a back 3, now Chelsea have reverted back to a back 4?
This weekend 3 teams played 3 defenders
Huddersfield
Wolves

Great last ditch tackle on Zaha there...3

Nothing better than an unhappy set of Nigels!!2

Sorry to be pedantic, but the term is a 'Knob of Nigels'
i.e. look at that knob / look at those knobs.9 -
Is that Dean Kiely on the Palarse coaching staff?!0

This season is a big one for him, if he stays fit and healthy he'll make that CB position his own.3
-
Liverpool got some bargain in Gomez.1
-
Him and Van Dijk are an impressive partnership.1
-
Two games played in Joe's best position of CB. He won't get the RB spot from Alexander Arnold so he needs to prove that he is the CB to partner Van Dijk.
So far so good.0
