He did it exist, there are a lot of primary sources to indicate he did from around the 7th and 8th Century. I'm in the middle of a module on Arab history at University and there are many volumes of biographical literature accounting his whole life. If you read primary sources from that time (not that i really have) I'm sure there would be lots of referencing to a very religious man named Muhammed who led a group of people. A lot of Islamic dynasty's from that time could actually only claim legitimacy because they were direct descendants from Muhammed. There is a lot more proof that he existed then Jesus. Who also did, imo.

Sorry QA but that is just not true of main stream churches such as the catholic church, the Church of England and most evengelical churches.
The bible is BOTH the old and new testament for them.
The Church of England and the Roman Catholic church believe in and preach the 10 commandments (old testament).
The believe that God created the earth (old), moses saved the isrealites (old), etc etc. The push of science means that many no longer believe that God created the world in seven days.
However the very large and increasingly powerful evangelical Christian in the US and elsewhere do follow the old testement, do believe the creation story, do beleive that homosexuality is a sin because it says so in the old testament.

All above quotations taken from the Old Testament, removed from New Testament. Which proves my earlier point that whereas the Bible has adapted to the times,
Both the old and new testaments make up the bible.
They were not "removed" from the new testament.
They are still very much part of the bible.
Modern day Christian use both parts of the bible. Certainly Christians are happy to use the Leviticus 20:13 part to condemn Gays in the US, here and places like Uganda as an excuse for their homophobia
More than happy to be proved wrong, but I cannot find any reference to the above quotes appearing in The New Testament. Perhaps you'd be kind enough to show me where they do? As an Atheist I have no interest in defending the Bible. I do however like to gain an understanding of why people behave as they do in the name of religion. This present situation is of great importance to me and my family, with my wife being a Muslim, and has caused me to read far more information on the matter than I would have liked.
I did however find this quote/conclusion:
The Bible teaches that the entire Old Testament law was removed by God. None of it is binding today as authority for any religious practice, and that includes the Sabbath and Ten Commands.
We now live under the New Testament. Every practice for the church must be authorized by the gospel. If no authority can be found in the gospel for a practice, then it should be abandoned regardless of whether or not it was practiced in the Old Testament.
The New Covenant is a better system, having a better hope, and built on better promises (Heb. 7:22; 8:6; 9:23; 7:19). Do not become entangled again in the bondage of the Old Law.

Sorry QA but that is just not true of main stream churches such as the catholic church, the Church of England and most evengelical churches.
The bible is BOTH the old and new testament for them.
The Church of England and the Roman Catholic church believe in and preach the 10 commandments (old testament).
The believe that God created the earth (old), moses saved the isrealites (old), etc etc. The push of science means that many no longer believe that God created the world in seven days.
However the very large and increasingly powerful evangelical Christian in the US and elsewhere do follow the old testement, do believe the creation story, do beleive that homosexuality is a sin because it says so in the old testament.
