I wouldn't bank on it SHG.

But democracy doesn't stop today. We got the Tories and they're gonna be stubborn bastards but we can still influence them.

We have to make it clear that no more cuts in these vital areas are ok. I really fear for where those 12bn cuts are going to fall.

37% vote for the Tories, meaning that 63% of the population did not want them. Yet they will have a majority of over 50% of the seats.

FPTP is a terrible system and we need an overhaul now that it isn't a 2/3 party system.

need to make an allowance for the % that couldn't be bothered to vote

    Ok.

65% turnout would mean that only about 24% of the country voted Tory.

    Any better?

I voted Labour and am disappointed with the result but that's democracy and I hope all my fears are unfounded and Cameron proves me wrong.

I am worried as an individual because working for the NHS I have truly seen that what has taken place over the last five years has been like the Titanic sailing towards the iceberg. Not sure what efficiencies are left to make. Where will the savings be made. I believe care will inevitably suffer.

I am also concerned as the parent of a disabled daughter where again I have seen the reductions in services and money hit her hard. My daughter is one of those most vulnerable in the country. I believe she deserves better than being considered a burden on society and an easy target to make savings. I hope the rumours surrounding cuts in this area of welfare are unfounded. I would never forgive.

My wife because of my daughter is a full time carer. She cannot work because of the care she provides. She has never worked because of this since my daughter was born some 38 years ago. She sacrificed any career and what does she receive as carers allowance - £60 a week. If people like her are targeted then the Great part of Great Britain ought to be dropped. It would be obscene.

Those are my concerns as a worker and individual. I hope the Tory government show me something to make me less worried. I really do.

    I wish you well SHG.
What I would say is that David Cameron was father to a severely disabled son so probably knows some of your brave struggles more than most.

Whoever takes over as Labour leader has a massive job to do, needs to win back most of England and all of Scotland.

See you later you racist twat. Hope the door smashes your back on the way out.

Why did Nigel Farage talk up the Commonwealth if he's a Racist ?
I heard him say that the People of India, West indies etc
had every right to be here ?

Talking to people who voted UKIP i was surprised that they were such a mix.
Anti The EU, and pro the old Commonwealth, Plus people who may have voted for the EDL or NF in the past, so a very broad church i would say.

Picking and choosing who can and cant be here based on race, nationality and/or religion is certainly prejudiced in any logical way in my book.
    How about skill ?

I think we have seen enough cuts in the NHS and I would like to think that we won't see any more.

    so this is it:

All the socialist that think the NHS is better with them can go to live in Wales (were it isnt shit lol lol lol).
All the newcomers thats 300,000 a year go and live in Scotland with Nicola(mass immigration isnt an issue at all) see what you say after 5 years Nicky baby.

as for Fargage he did well. under PR they would have got 80 seats and increased his parties vote by an huge amount. Took far more grief off the media than the others combined (BBC what a joke). Walked out and met far more punters on then streets than Cameron/Clegg and Milltwonk combined. Didnt use the deflection trick when asked the difficult questions anywhere near as much as any of the other politicos.
A huge night for the Torys--Labour beaten and a majority and Farage gone, they couldnt have wished for better.

I don't understand how some places can have their result in within 45 minutes, yet 8 places still haven't announced anything?

Number of women in Parliament has rose by another 8% on this election, up to 30% now. Hope that trend continues further personally.

Where to begin! Close down the administration blocks of most hospitals. Allow dept heads to run their respective departments including managing the respective budgets. Dispense with the reams of paper work that has to be completed by every nurse to the detriment of proper patient care. Allow caring and compassionate people to enter Nursing without having to study for a degree. Return to a system where nursing means actually nursing, turning patients regularly to prevent bed sores, regular bed baths etc, etc, and not just a stepping stone to some higher managerial position. Employ more front line staff from the cuts made in administration.
End immediately the Agency staff scam where staff are paid 2-300% more for doing the same job but with no allegiance or affinity to the post and far less accountability and responsibility in many cases than the permanent lower paid staff. Not to mention the additional cut taken by the agency.
NHS is an out of control inefficient beast where huge efficiency savings could and should be made.
I walked away because of the pressure and stress caused by all the above. My dear friend and mentor Robert wasn't so lucky and took his own life in the on call room one night.

It'll be interesting to see how the unions behave in the next Labour leadership election. Miliband was their man and wouldn't have had a sniff of a chance without their block vote.

I think Sunderland (Labour) uses a vast army of (unpaid) six formers to rush around like crazy. Exploitation of child labour...you couldn't make it up. But it seems they get a nice tee-shirt with Sunderland Borough Council emblazoned on it. Money well spent I expect.
But seriously some places won't pay huge amounts to transfer ballot boxes from places like the Sicily Isles just to satisfy the demand for instant news.

Interested in the thoughts of Labour voters on the next leader.

Think its vitally important (for everyone) to have a strong opposition party and not one permenently in transition.

The names being spouted though (Umunna, Harman, Burnham, Hunt) really don't inspire me as being either leadership potential (now) or likely to put a challenge up to winning back the centre / centre left vote. And don't really know enough about any others.

I think it's time for labour to realise that the UK is not looking for a socialist style of leadership and it has five years to re build it's style and overcome the hard left leaning that finished in this country with the working class notions that some still harbour
