  • Batted Tredders, fantastic rear-guard batting from these two.
  • we should also commend Northeast who, since the second half of last season has started to confirm the potential he showed as an under age cricketer - 777 runs so far this season in the CC at an average of 86.33
  • 337-7 at lunch and just 25 behind

    Northeast 145* (287)
    Tredwell 118* (240)

Unbeaten partnership of 209 does beg the question how the first seven only made 59 between them!

If we bat for another three hours we will save the game!
  • Always nice to spend my afternoon hitting F5 rather than doing work. Dig in boys!
  • Unbelievable effort, and what a season Northeast is having.

I still refuse to get my hopes up as this is Kent we are talking about.
  • Not even properly digging in.

50 strike rates, nothing wrong with that!
  • Treders gone for 124 - beating his best ever score by just the one. Partnership of 222 with Northeast (152*).

    350-8 and 12 behind
  • Well done Tredders.

I watched Rabada have a net last Thursday and I was very impressed. I predict a ton for him and we save the game... :-)

    Rabada gone for 5 :-)

Out for 5 - I wouldn't buy any lottery tickets if I were you!

356-9 and still 6 behind so an innings defeat still possible.

    Not any more it isn't.

368-9 and a mighty six runs ahead.
  • Brainlessly Tredwell, Rabada and Claydon go after the short ball.

    (Can't really criticise Tredwell).

Claydon's was on the last ball of the over.

Still, the game wasn't lost by them I suppose.
  • Was hoping for a Headingly '81 type turnaround, oh well.......
  • They have still to get 9 runs. Would settle for a tie at this stage.

Talk about "waving the white flag". We open with Adam Ball and Sam Northeast and they get them off 10 balls. There's absolutely no hope when you don't give yourselves a chance to win!
  • Not only was that a Kent record 8th wicket stand of 222 but Tredwell's 124, in addition to it being his highest ever score in all forms of cricket, but was the best ever for a Kent no. 9

More's the pity that the rest of the team didn't weigh in with something worthwhile....

    ...especially the likes of Denly.

But of course they're saving themselves for tomorrow & Friday nights' T20s....

Coles has a problem and only he can sort it. If he wants to that is.
  • More to the Coles story that meets the eye..

I think the England Women's T20 will be on but haven't checked.
  • Kent 59-1 off 6
  • Cheers, I wont rush home from work then.

Northeast has just hit 16 of 4 balls
  • 86-2 off 9.1
  • Cricinfo is a joy to read at the moment.

Over 16 was a bit boring - only 8 runs came from it
  • Kent 187/5 (20/20 ov)
  • S'set. 73/2 from 7.2 overs.

Peter Trego on 41 from 17 balls!
