A below strength Yorkies. No Root. No Wlley. No Plunkett. No Rashid. Not 2 Yorkshire umpires either!

And even worse, Gary Ballance was able to play!

How's that push for top spot and promotion going? In any cup finals this year?

    Ahh shame!

Hey ...Ryan Davies ...you lot made a bit of a rickett there !
Born in Thanet too- where's his caravan?
  • Well, I'm a bit of a gloomy Sussex supporter today. The team that Sussex will be fielding today looks more like a 2nd XI as a result of injuries and Joyce, the most consistent batsmen, deciding to play for Ireland against the Seychelles or similar. I assume the groundsman will prepare a pudding of a pitch in the hope that a game as tedious as the one at Tunbridge Wells will bring a draw. However, I predict Kent to win in two and a bit days by an innings and get a step nearer the poisoned chalice of almost certain relegation next season.
  • Wow! You got out the wrong side of the bed today....
  • Big game for Kent today. Also keeps the Beckenham game next week relevant which will be good.
Out of interest what happens next season. Is it one up and one down or two up two down? Anyone know?

This year, it's one up and two down. Next year, it's back to two up and two down. Two out of eight getting relegated will be tough in Division 1.
  • We look a tad light with the bat.

Supporting Charlton and Sussex is not a good combination!

Sussex are the only unbeaten side in the two divisions I do believe. They can't seem to win either though!

    It'll just prolong the agony

We need Essex to lose (and preferably with a points deduction for a dodgy pitch or something!) as they're 24 points ahead
  • Wicket! (3.1 Overs)

    2/1

    Haines c Tredwell b Stevens 0

A draw for Essex will do as long as Kent win.

40 year old Darren Stevens opening the bowling at 92 72 mph and batsmen getting out to it rather says all we need to know about why we struggle to produce Test batsmen.

  • Great stuff!

@Addick Addict the last wicket was an lbw so not sure leaving the ball would have done much good ... ;-)

That's what 80 grand a year gets you! Shame neither bowler will be with Essex next year...straight back down!
