  • Not seen Slades interview and won't bother. It's all a load of old bollocks. Even at his first interview when he said something along the lines of "I'll have a say in players that come in" I switched off. The bloke was duped. He may well have a say in the Ajose deal, but we know that Holmes and Novak were linked or in talks before he signed up to manage.

I'd like to say I feel sorry for him....but I don't. Anybody who manages this club under the current ownership is a fool.

Even the most optimistic of supporter must realise this club is only going one way. 6 days before the start of the season and were poncing about in the transfer market. Still at least the excuses are in place.

I'm in Manchester next weekend for a wedding and have a ticket for bury, but I seriously don't think I can be arsed to use it

I think you should go to Bury....................

So do I. Even if just to pull faces at Katrien for 90 mins.
  • Interesting gaze - almost all down. Not much looking at Louis and less still looking to camera. I'm sure Grinder and Bandler would make something of that.
  • I believe Slade has the best intentions and wants to win. However I can't see him walking away from the job. When we have a poor run, they will sack him and he will get a pay out. Inside the game they will know he hasn't been given the support to build a decent squad. He will then get a league 1 or Championship job with another club.

Love this from Waalaijk - the players joined the fans for a pint in the Anti after the game

The Met got involved later and asked them to stop serving as it was getting out of hand apparently

seeing that video makes me doubt my thoughts that he will quit, he seems happy enough. obviously buying the BS from upstairs.

He won't see the season out.
sorry i wasn't clear, i meant before the start of the season. when he realizes they didn't "make it across the line" he will quit.

  • Not in the know but I still think that Pearce and the two Norwich loans will come in before Bury. After that it's anyone's guess if we sign anyone else. These three are the bare bare minimum.

But why should we settle for loans and short-term signings? Katrien Meire should be building a squad for the long-term and minimum one that is going to win promotion with her self-declared top six budget. Instead, she's failed to learn from her many previous mistakes of loading Charlton with ageing, injury prone journeymen and kids who aren't ready yet. Nothing has changed. Nothing will change. Get them out of our club.
I'm not suggesting that we should settle for anything. I'm just saying that I think those three will come in this week. If, and I hope I'm right they do then they will without a doubt strengthen us. Anything less than those three coming in and we look very wobbly.

Oh I know you personally weren't SHG. Just venting!
  • Q "Has the summer gone the way you expected it too".

Slade stops, looks up at the sky and does a politicians take of not directly answering the question as he did regarding bringing in a new goalkeeper.

To me it is a sign he has been hoodwinked.

    So let's get this straight

Yesterday we drew at home to a Dutch Pub team

A pub team the met had to kick out, so a pissed up pub team at that.

    Great

F*** that Ricky, you need to be behind the BAR!
  • If KAG ever has to take a penalty for us in anger, we'll know we really are down on our uppers.
Didn't he score one on the league cup last year?

Body language - touching your head/scratching your head is a well known body language for confusion/stress. Just saying.
  • Was there a naked beauty at the top of the West Stand that kept catching our Sladey's eye?

Or is he a swivel eyed loony?

  • I'd be stressed as well if I had just played a load of kids against a pretty ordinary side and nearly lost.

Not that I think we had our starting 11 on the pitch at the same time but it was a pretty poor show despite that.

I noticed that, I also noticed he looked towards that area when asked about matters the CEO owner should have had already sorted.

  • Sadly looks like he has been had, doubt he will see out August.
  • Question about Tex

He so clearly lied about the injury

What he meant to say was

"Yeh Louis I don't expect the lad to be a Charltom player come the end of the week"

Pity they don't do that during the week when there's more powder floating about that Guy Fawkes got his hands on.

    "It's not a defeat"

Bit the bullit and watched the interview.

So if we lose on a penalty shoot out in a competition this season, we can expect to be in the next round. Penalty shoot outs obviously don't count in Russell's world. He's even lying himself now. If you can't beat them Russ....join them .

NOTHING will ever change for the better whilst the Belgians are in town.

Sounds like that you trying to get out buying the beers you promised!
  • The question about tex, it sounded like tessara, I didn't get it at first either.

When asked about transfers, Ho looked up towards the directors box twice. Don't know why or what this means but it was the only two times he looked up there
