Do Pearce and Solly get back in if fit? Prefer the exra height myself.
in a word NO .. we need the height that Pearce and Solly lack .. and the pace of Sarr .. and today Sarr's passing from the back was right on the money .. Konsa was impressive in attack and defence .. the longer the game went on the better Sarr looked .. as with Fosu, this game could be the making of him .. I really hope so ... we will see !
I don’t think on one reasonable performance in League One against a poor Fleetwood I’d be so quick to dismiss Pearce , who imo is only behind Holmes and Magennis in importance .

I imagine that playing alongside Pearce taught Bauer a lot about organisation and leadership. Indeed it was a show of his progression to make him captain today, rather than Holmes

Yeah I was surprised that Solly kept it at the start of the season. I thought Robinson would give it to Pearce (after Jacko, obviously).
Different captains have different styles, and I don't think you need to be a Pearce type to be captain. And I think on his day, that calm, assured presence Solly brings absolutely has its merit. But there are times when it seems like the armband is made of lead for him. That might be coincidental, due to a couple years of up and down form--and to be fair, he's by no means the only one. But I don't think it will hurt him to truly have competition both for his place and for the armband.
But yeah, I'm with you, there was something that just felt right about BFG as skipper. I think he's been very, very good this year, despite our defensive woes. And while he's not the loudest, he seems like a strong competitor and an assured presence not dissimilar to Solly, but it felt like the armband made him stand just that little bit taller today.

Classy. A better mark of the man than how we do on the pitch.
I remember he had a training session with the Upbeats before Upbeats day last year and he looked like he was really enjoying himself and like he worked really well with them. He's not a saint obviously, and he certainly has his flaws, but he's done some little things like that, like supporting the women's team, that are good.

Despite the closed Northern Line threatening to disrupt the Fanackapans' plans en route to Euston, the intrepid travellers managed to meet up with their 2 trusty sidekicks on time.
Due to a mere 2 hour journey to Preston, an early picnic brunch was necessitated with cold meats, salad, coleslaw, fresh brown rolls, pickle & grapes accompanied by a lively bottle of white courtesy of our resident wine expert. However, our pal had overestimated and purchased 2 bottles so, what to do with the 2nd during the match was the problem ....
We asked our lovely taxi driver if he would be collecting us for the return journey after the game but he wasn't able to confirm so leaving said bottle in his boot for the duration wasn't an option.
But, employing some much needed lateral thinking, a well known phrase or saying was brought to mind and hence a bottle in the hand was worth one in the bush....with a nice, bushy shrub in the adjoining park providing a perfect hiding place. Fortunately, the local pooches had stayed well clear !
With that minor problem solved, and following a swift " half " in the delightful Supporters' Bar, it was time for the main event. And we were not disappointed.
After a scrappy 10 minutes or so, the lads began to settle & play some lovely football with their reward coming via young Tariqe. The visiting faithful celebrated loudly whilst those of us present on Tuesday evening crossed our fingers that another swift response wouldn't follow....but we waited just a further 12 minutes this time. The ball was lost somewhat carelessly and after a couple more touches, the Reds were level.
But this time, our goal scorer had other ideas, & aided & abetted by his hard working team mates, put us back in the lead with half time looming. And, despite several swift counter attacks by the home side which put us under some pressure & shredded a few nails in the away end, the better team on the day ground down the plucky Trawlermen and Tariqe deservedly travelled home with the match ball. No prizes for naming our MOM today !
This was a gritty performance from our lads with plaudits deserved by every single player so it would be foolhardy to single out anyone but I shall... Naby was a colossus at the back & it was so good to see both him & the elegant Ezri given their chance to show what they can do. They certainly grabbed their opportunity with both hands/feet. Rickeee worked his socks off as always, as did Big Josh and young Jay is SOME player ! Whilst not wishing to criticise a good overall performance, at times I was tempted to give our skilful Algerian midfielder a new nickname - Kash Back ....I'll leave you to decide why.
So, a great day out with great company and to complete the hat trick, a great victory.
Let's hope we can continue in the same vein after the dratted international Break !
Watched on ifollow. Good win, some great individual performances as been noted by many. However, at the risk of sounding like a broken record: our back line sits too deep and therefore we relinquish the midfield by being unable to put pressure on other team's build up, resulting in our defending always looking panicked in and around the box. Doesn't and won't work against the slightly better teams. Lets hope there are not too many of them... But hey, we won !!!

Lol, so apart from the 8 or 9 times it hasn't happened, Fosu hat trick yesterday is a nailed on, copper bottomed, cast iron guarantee we'll be promoted this season.
I'm so pleased with Sarr's improvement, sounded like he was immense today. The first network shocker to come good? Well done Thomas Driesen for playing FIFA 16.
Sarr read the game well from a defensive point of view but his passing sometimes is shocking. He booted one at Dasilva from about ten yards away and under hit a few across our back four which were nervous moments. He's an OK backup and played because Solly was out with Konsa on the right. If everyone's fit he's probably not even on the bench.

We've been undone many times by the long diagonal testing Solly or Da Silva, look at Walsall's last throw of the dice on Tuesday. Fleetwood also had this as their go to ball and it failed as nothing got past Konsa or Sarr who covered everything in the air. It allowed Da Silva to be on the front foot 100% and neutralised a very nippy Fleetwood winger.
Baur looked composed and had all the time he needed to make a brilliant tackle in the penalty area to snuff out a one on one with Amos. Looked a leader to me. Could be because he didn't have to be worrying about covering for the rest of the back line - e.g that mess up with him and Pearce going for the same ball - and could be fully committed to defend the central zone.
Re @LennyLowrent comment about playing deep, I didn't notice this as a problem yesterday, except at times we spent more time building up and going back. If anything I thought we've been exposed recently with too much space behind the wing backs tempting those long diagonals that have been allowing opponents to get behind our defensive line. The back four worked as a unit and covered one another without seeming panicked to me. The only panic seems to be when we defend crosses, might be a mind thing given that's how we have been conceding.

Leaburn/Bowyer and Sordell/Callum were in successive away matches if I remember rightly, which is probably quite unusual.
Harriott's was the last game of the season. Think he set up a couple of Sordell's goals though and maybe scored himself in another game around the same time.
