He has certainly stepped it up. The move to Brentford gave him the opportunity to play against better players, as has the move to Villa. Sometimes players just need to be tested all the time. We used him at Right Back and as a holding midfielder at times, to accommodate players like Pearce and Harry Lennon! Dean Smith played him in his correct position at Brentford and Villa and as a consequence Konsa has flourished. Obviously helps to have better players in his own team as well.hoof_it_up_to_benty said:

I don't watch SPL but after hearing the recent success of rangers, it makes me wonder how Aribo might be getting on.
Obviously he's doing well.
Is he a Gerrard favourite? Assume Gerrard will at some point, either end up being England or liverpool manager.
How much potential does Aribo currently have at present? Will he be going very far?0 -

I've watched him quite a lot this season and not sure if he's destined for the top level. I'm sure Gerrard is improving him as a player but there is still work to be done - still not consistent enough.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

If Ings had moved abroad or to Celtic or Rangers, however, Burnley would have been entitled to just €270,000 through Fifa's "training compensation regime".

From what you say, it sounds like a good bet that he will feature against Slavia Prague? Hope so, and hope he does well against them. Since Slavia beat Leicester (admittedly an outstanding result) "billy big bollocks" doesn't even begin to cover the noise around that club.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

The Slavia match is a hard one to call from a Rangers perspective. Rangers have been playing well and had some great results in Europe this season but after winning the 55th title and (probably more importantly!) stopping Celtic’s 10 in a row it could all be a bit after the Lord Mayors show.PragueAddick said:

Quite a few people have asked how Aribo is perceived by Rangers fans, a Rangers podcast that I listen to run a player ratings thing post match (has nothing on the great work we get from @lancashire lad of course!).I noticed that Aribo’s summary from the St Mirren match on Saturday was more a bit of a summary of his season rather than a match rating per se so thought those of you that are curious might be interested:
“Joe Aribo – 7.8 (8)When he wants to, he can be a top baller. Aggression is the key to this, he just needs to find a way to make that more consistent over the season. Having had his injury issues earlier on, it maybe took him a while to find that initial form at the start of the season again but all the same, he has been so useful in games over the campaign and deserves to be remembered as someone who made a good impact over this amazing season.”

The local commentary team were glad to see the back of him in the end. Typical Joe really, anonymous in the first half, but at H-T Gerrard moved him and gave him a free role. Of all the things Bowyer has done in his life that may look silly I think expressing his upset at one of his best players leaving for next to nothing to go play a handful of competitive games a season in a shite league is not one that will bother him unduly.AllysArmy said:
