Oztumer must be getting pretty fed up being buggered about by Charlton. That’s the last two windows that he’s been “in the building/in Greenwich Park/in Bluewater shopping” and not been signed.

To be fair, in January we wanted him, he said he wanted to prove himself in the Championship but soon realised it wasn’t going to happen. We revisited and came back in for him. It was Bolton who failed to bring in Ched Evans from Fleetwood and therefore decided not to release Oztumer to us, even though he didn’t player thereafter.
This window, we don’t know what is happening with him but with all the issues at Bolton anyway, the problem could well be at their end if he is holding out on monies owed for example. We just don’t know. Or, we might have thought we could get better if we just hang in there that little longer.
You referenced Lee and Bowyer but in both cases a substantial part of it was reinvested in the club leading to progress on and off the pitch.
The then owners had nothing like the disposal capital in the way Duchatelet has.
They chose to reinvest the money rather than pay off themselves, huge, huge difference.
I don't think there was any "personal abuse nonsense"?
Lee and Bowyer (funny how that pans) were both sold and the money wasn't directly invested in the team. It was invested in infrastructure and in some part to paying the wages.
Remember the the point Rick made about selling some land/houses and the answer was "well what player would you have sold instead?"
Paying himself off implied that he MADE money out of it, he is £70 odd million in the brown at the moment. Unless he finds some mug to pay him that back he is going to loose a lot of money.
As far as I am aware he hasn't personally made a single penny out of the club yet? Happy to be proved wrong. In that regard his is no worse than any of our previous owners. In all other measurable metrics the bloke is a cretin, a failure, a stain on our history.
Let's focus on what he HAS done wrong, let's not twist "fake news".
Villa closing in on Konsa for £12m. Would be nice if Bower and Gallen get the sell-on fee to use in the market, but we all know it’s going straight in Roland’s back pocket..
Premierleague star of the future we was told. Thanks katrien ps you are definitely a would ya

How much has Roland put in his "back pocket"?
Couldn’t give an exact figure - but pretty much every penny we have got from selling players hasn’t been reinvested back into the club at all. I’m not going to pedantically argue over the term “back pocket” - call it what you will, but the money certainly hasn’t gone back into the team
But selling players to cover costs has been "normal" for Charlton for longer than I can remember. I get the fact that no extra money has been invested in the team, if we had the semblance of a functional smt it might have been but how much of the Shelvey money, the Bowyer money or the Robert Lee money was?
I can't count, on 2 fingers, the time a Charlton player was sold for significant money and the money reinvested in the playing squad. Funny enough we got promoted both seasons as well.
I understand that - but that says nothing apart from we’ve had bad owners before Roland as well? There’s a huge difference between selling players to keep the club afloat and selling players to increase a billionaires cash flow. Even Powell got the money from Jenkinson to Arsenal. Imagine what we could have done with some of the Lookman/Konsa/Pope/Gomez/JBG money
It hasn't though, it has just reduced the losses made by the club
There are masses of things to criticise Roland for, but I share his concern at the finances of football, especially in the Championship. Just because some foreign owners are prepared to lose £20m to £40m a season, it doesn't follow that this should be considered normal
I suspect that most of our targets have been deterred from signing by the low wages being offered. If we are also counting on the likes of Cullen and Bielik returning, then I feel we are in for a disappointment. The closer we get to the start of the season without additions to the squad, can only increase the likelihood of a poor start. And, as others have said, this is a very difficult league in which to successfully play catch-up. After the euphoria of the play-offs, this pre-season is looking increasingly familiar to the last few years, and realistically the only thing on the horizon is a long and tortuous fight against relegation, something which, after 60 years as an Addick, I am all too familiar with.
Creepy tweeting that he doesn’t think Konsa has a sell on clause, but he’s trying to get confirmation.
Why add a sell on clause to a club who are pretty much an established Championship club at threat of neither promotion or relegation and is known to sell on its players for increased profit

Exactly, it makes far too much sense doesn't it, so you can almost be sure that Roland didn't.
Lee did its unlikely anymore bussiness would be dome before Welling. It seems to me they know there main targets and for whatever reason they are having to be patient.

At least with Yann we got a replacement (Polish Pete).
