Think best realistic case scenario the two strikers will be Matty taylor and John marquis. Then midfielders would be herbie Kane, Cullen and Conor Gallagher on loan with Morgan then going out on loan then signing oztumer
Mat Taylor 7 goals in 66 games for Bristol C .. no wonder they want shot of him
Was always a Rovers player, was never going to work
I’d be very surprised if we got Kane - you’d assume he’d link up with his old gaffer at Hull
saw quite a bit of Kane last season .. I m o, nothing special .. I'd prefer giving Morgan and Lapslie a chance or six
That’s surprising - he was pretty poor in the play-offs but played quite well against us in the league. It’s hard to stand out when you’re playing against a midfield of Cullen, Aribo and Bielik
To be honest, add Williams to that and it is an obscene midfield for League One!
Top 6 Championship midfield easily
Really? That midfield scraped us out of a poor League 1. Only taking third on the last day because of results elsewhere (and obvs our own decent win)
Third place and with seven points more we’d have won the league, probably the strongest league one I’ve seen in a long time as well. Don’t really think that’s scraping through is it.
That's only because they Had Pratley, Lapsley and Morgan in support
Wilfred Bonny released and still seems available. Still only 30 but seems to have lost his mojo. Scored 2 goals in a friendly for his Country in July. Worth a pay as you play deal and see what Bows and his team can do?

Pay as you play?
Our budget would run out 37 seconds in to the game.

The only place I’ve ever heard of a ‘pay as you play deal’ is on here, is it even a real thing

He was on over £100k a week at Swansea. And I mean the second time around, when he was crap

We’d be up on the deal though because he’d get injured 16 seconds in.

My gut feeling is no signings this week. Then they start to become desperate ones!
That’s the spirit...
They've already been desperate. Williams and possible Aneke aside, the business so far is not likely to aid a decent run at the championship. No disrespect to Purrington, Bonne, Lockyer, Amos or Oshilaja, but they are all still to prove themselves at this level and the jury is very much out. I think those five will struggle IMHO. It's not Bowyer or Gallens fault as they are only doing the best with what is available. I would guess that they would have preferred upgrades on what they have brought in thus far, if they had the financial clout to do so. The loans are going to be vital if we are to have a reasonable fist at this division and it's not beyond the realms given the budget that we have, that these may start to become a little desperate.

Going to get battered every week, we will have to play the loans market better than last season.
Cant see there will be 3 worse teams than us this season. Oh well, 1 year in the Championship it will be then.
They get good prices for their talented players then reinvest to keep the team competitive.
The difference has been in implementation clearly they have been successful and we haven't,

They were decent for their last club. Worth a punt? ☺️
