Doesn’t matter that we have until 8th Aug. Transfers take weeks to sort. To scout, to analyse, to negotiate. Then time to bed in to the squad.
we have a little over a week to do all that based on scooping up the dregs leftover
The club was at its most valuable in recent times this summer - immediately following promotion.
it loses value and increases debt with every passing day because right now we are not competitive enough. It could all be over by Christmas at this rate.
As someone recently said - that glass of champagne we all had on the go immediately after Wembley now has a turd in it.
I am normally Mr Rose tinted but right now I’ve fucking bored of this.
Parker debate round 10 ding ding! is there not a thread for this, he did a job but he isn't good enough for the league above however desperate we are!
I think he could be useful as another body... What did Bowyer say again? We HAVE to get bodies in.
I think he showed promise, he was just an inch behind getting a goal a few times... With a proper pre-season and continuing to build his working partnership with Taylor, he could have been better than nothing.
Each to their own Dazzle, I think he did a job but if he is an option I would lump heavily on us to go down! I think Mid table league one is his level im afraid, although that's just my opinion (probably a few more too)
Our squad would rank as only the 5th best even in League One now. Behind MK Dons and Rotherham.
Unless MK Dons have a couple of wonderkids that we don't know about, then i don't see how their squad, literally just promoted from league 2, is worth that.
Standard reckons a lot of the Championship clubs are having spending rules issues apart from the recently relegated and promoted sides and basically the ones that have bought somebody have had to sell a player first.

Bowyer and Gallen said the loans would be last week and I’m sure they’re doing all those things that you say takes weeks.
This current squad will go down. But you only have to look at the team who played against Sunderland at the start of last season to know how important the last few days are.
Bowyer and Gallen could have already got some substandard loans in that wouldn’t have helped our season but they’re waiting. I trust them to give us a competitive squad by the end of the window.
Everyone is saying we have to wait for loans next week when premier clubs announce their squads, but some EFL clubs have already taken players on loan from premier clubs, look at Oxford today and a few Chelsea players have gone on loan

Going by last season I imagine Bowyer and Gallen are holding out on the players that Premier League teams arent sure about sending out yet
Guess those that go out earlier are the ones that clubs know arent as ready etc.
Beliek gone to Derby for 10 mill? Surley hes not worth that.
Current inflated market, Villa spent double on that on Mings, and £15 mil on Targett. Imagine with Belieks season with us, age, and impressive under-21 tournament, is value has raised, certainly seen worse transfer fees on players.
Just looked at the telegraph article,to be honest, there are not many teams that have bought in more players than us.Sure there are some big fees about, but is Birminghams 7.5m striker going to do better than Taylor or Aneke, who knows.
5 players down, instead of 2 wingers to replace Fosu and Marshall we'll get in an attacking midfielder/striker and a more defensive one.
And let's not forget that the squad we had in L1 was too small anyway, with next to no adequate cover for injuries
I don’t agree with that, I would the squad that finished the season was probably 1 short, a striker. We were loaded in midfield and adequate in defence.
Look at the games we lost over the season - covering missing players was an issue at times.
As it is for most League 1 sides. In December I think we had Ward, Aribo, Cullen and Bielik all out. That was just terrible luck and meant our midfield was completely stretched. Didn't help that players like Igor and Page are made of glass, but if you look at our squad numbers last season, I doubt you will find many teams who had bigger squads.
Totally unbalanced though - which is Duchatelet's signature.

They have Solly down as worth £450k and Djiksteel as £0. Phillips is £45k and all the academy boys are all worth nothing.
Still shocking to see in black and white just what a state we're in.

no chance we will be getting in players of Bielik and Cullen’s quality imo.
Callum Harriott and the like it is imo.
They seem to spend a good amount each season but unlike Bristol City or Brentford etc. arent getting their money from sell ons
