    Ok here we go.

I managed to get through and spoke to a nice chap.

There are five working there today and they have lists of emails about 200 each. The calls are coming in thick and fast.

He said don't panic and we should get the ticket emailed today. The first emails are being sent at 5pm and they will send every hour until 9. If your tickets arrive in the post then they are void if they send you a new one.

I asked the question “what happens if no ticket is emailed and it’s tomorrow and you are closed”. He said they are an external company and will be open so not to worry. He also said that if it comes to the day then you can take your confirmation email and payment card to Wembley and they will print it for you. There will be two areas doing this from 11:30am. West stand and another.

He said there have been plenty of errors with people getting tickets with concession stamped on by mistake etc.

They are working to get it sorted and at least we have tomorrow and worst case can go on the day with the email confirmation.

Fingers crossed for all my fellow Addicks out there waiting like me.

It's bloody criminal that Charlton haven't put this out on all media sites.

So basically whatever happens everyone will get in, cheers mate.  Still a ball ache all this.
It’s just taken the stress away now: not ideal as will mess up pre drinking plans. Cans it is then hah
  • They said they’ll email tickets at 2:30 to me, checked emails not here yet.  This is needless fuckin stress I tell ya.
cant you pick them up from wembley from 11am onwards? or was that not an option
No mate they just said they’ll be emailed at that time.
They should have just emailed all the tickets out.
Absolutely particularly as someone said earlier that Wembley do email out tickets for England games.

Really sympathise with all of you still waiting for tickets to arrive. But hopefully the more realistic deadline for getting calls in should help you get sorted.

The annoying thing about what you’ve stated it that they start emailing people at 5pm when we all leave offices, the only place some access a printer.

I was thinking the same about you CE, you appear to be slowing down the closer we get to Sunday. Poor show  :)
  • I’m pretty sure it’s not the club’s fault but whoever designed this ridiculously convoluted ticketing arrangement wants shooting.

There just needed to be two options - print at home/e-tickets or pickup at Wembley. Print at home tickets could have been sent at the time of purchase and 95% of fans would have had their tickets for several days now. The rest would’ve just needed to get to Wembley a little early and join what I’m sure would be a fairly short queue at the ticket office.

This staged approach is such an inefficient way of doing it and has caused a lot of unnecessary stress, I’m sure including box office staff, and wasted a lot of fans’ time.

I emailed and they got back 30 minutes later to say I’ve been added.

I replied back to say can I have a rough idea when as I need access to a printer. Nothing back.

really has taken the enjoyment out of it all
It really has. I emailed the tickets@ email address at 10:30 and apart from the 48  hour auto-reply, have had nothing. Over 300 phone attempts and can't even get in the queue. I've just tweeted the club to alert them and if I've heard nothing by 1pm, will go down to reception in person and start throwing a few f*cks into them.

Finally got through around 1.30 - spent very little time in the queue and spoke to a lady with a north-eastern accent(!)

Email link being sent out around 3:30 allegedly but assuming that is the case, then all sorted.

Thanks mate, that's really useful and reassuring. Would it have been so hard for the club to put that out??

  • Shine, make sure you aren't hanging up when you hear the first words of the answer. The "unfortunately this queue is full" message is very similar to the one you hear when you make it through.

Thanks Rob that’s reassured me, why doesn’t the club state this on the website though!

Good information & its helpful but it would be more reassuring if this was officially communicated. Not that I am doubting what the unnamed person from the unnamed company says to you (unnamed person on website).

If the arrangements are not officially confirmed then it is only a guide / suggestion.

I paid by Credit card but don't have a pin set up - so if I ended up having to go to Wembley then they would likely ask for me to put in card with pin that I don't have...… ????………..Not a particularly reassuring last ditch fall back for me.

A bit of proper communication on the OS & contingency plan would help sort this.  Good that the phone lines were opened until 9pm but additional plan is needed. I do not want to let down my 10 year old grand niece who is very excited about going to Wembley.

  • So the emails aren't being sent at half 2 like they said but instead now it's 5pm?

Helpful that I don't have a printer at home so instead I'm going to have to hang around at work for a bit.*

*Most  likely will be coming back to the office after the pub.

Tbf they wouldn't have the capacity at Wembley if thousands of Charlton & Sunderland fans opted for Wembley collection.

Most libraries will have a printer that is accessible to all, i. e. you don't have to be a member, which will cost pennies to use.

I've collected loads of tickets in my time & you only ever need to give reference numbers, maybe show the card it was paid with and maybe ID.

That will be only £50 of attempted phone calls then.
  • I sent an email this morning and was told.

"If you haven't received them by tomorrow please email tickets@cafc.co.uk and we can send them to you by email or arrange for them to be collected."

Been a bit of a shit show to be honest.

I'm just saying I've picked up hundreds of tickets in my life and have never been asked to enter a PIN.
After trying to help out for the last couple of weeks I won't be offering any more. Sheesh.
