I’d love to know when goes through Ben Amos head to take 20 seconds on goal kicks when we have about 40 seconds left in the game.

It’s not the first time he’s done it. It’s like we are winning.. Jesus christ!
As I said in the match thread at the end, I would seriously get rid of him! I have been paying close attention to his communication and he screams the same instruction every single week....it’s either “up, up” or “back it up, back it up”, the bloke is utterly clueless!

He sees play in front of him so whether he is under instruction or not...you don’t play that ball, like somebody else said, that isn’t the first time he has done it!

Lastly, as mentioned above, the time he took for his last few goal kicks was unbelievable! Give Maynard Brewer a go, get rid of him!

Very frustrating.  We played well until the stupid error, and then the shape just disintegrated and we had no width. All our strengths were taken away when DJ played inside and Millar up front. Good that Adkins will see the failings at first hand. Two weeks to put them right (haha!), or five months to replace the lot.

Good first half, terrible second half. Not satisfied with only having conceded one goal we try to win a football fair play award by letting them score to level. Some strange subs but he can have the benefit of the doubt in having only been here a few days

Thought it strange putting on DJ for Washington & then taking both wide men off with 15 to go. After that we had to forward outlet & everything just died in the midfield

    BUT

We shot ourselves in the foot. No manager can legislate for defensive blunders like that. From now on goal kicks should just be played upfield.

2 points dropped & thoughts of the play offs recede again.

Another game watched on Valley Pass, another game we haven't won. Haven't seen them win since Wimbledon at home and i have seen plenty of Saturday & a couple of Tuesday games since. Looks like I am cursing the team :joy: Sorry all!

First half we looked very strong and also first few minutes of 2nd half. Not sure what happened after that. Awful awful mistake for their 2nd goal. Adkins has a lot of work to do and he will work out what is needed with this team. Just hope we cut out the short passes around 6 yard box.

Sick of the entire squad. Even Chuks lacks enough of a footballing brain to not give away stupid free kicks when he comes on.

Gunter is robbing a living, Pratley just fucking toilet. No idea what Schwartz offers but I cba to give him time to prove he'd a finisher, he simply has to offer more around the park.

Steve Brown plating Amos for making a routine save sums the whole fucking day up. None of them are good enough, and wiere amazed by them doing the bare minimum that's expected.

Horrible watching that replay. Both Famewo and Amos culpable.

Not sure why Amos is switching off after passing it out - keep yourself switched on, the job isn’t done FFS

Said it in the match thread. A typical 20/21 Charlton performance. The mistakes and poor passages of play we've seen all season showed themselves yet again, so my only positive is that it gives Adkins a chance to see the issues that have plagued this team from the start.
Whether he can turn things around is unlikely but you never know.

Maybe we can put to bed this idea that they’ve all underperforming as they’ve been cowering in the corner, psychologically scarred by the iron fisted rule of Bowyer-the-Terrible.

Perhaps he had a point about them all not having the right mentality after all...

    Did Schwartz touch the ball?
Nope but not his fault again. We need to play the ball on the ground for Schwartz.

Amos is a good shot stopper and is good on crosses but the rest of his game is poor.
A  good shot stopper when it's instinctive, especially at close range. He's much weaker when facing shots from distance, where having to actually use his judgement finds him sadly lacking.

    Utter rubbish.

schwartz must have a club record for fewest touches per minutes played of anyone whose ever represented the club

Be clever GK and Defenders playing out from the back....you have 2 left footed centre backs so it's natural that one will be bringing the ball back into the danger zone.

Never known a season like it for us with this many individual errors and amount of games we concede two.

If we are in League One next season I hope we sign Piggott.

The draw is disappointing but what’s really worried me today is the needless fiddling throughout the game from the bench. We were dangerous from wide areas. Millar had two assists, DJ looked dangerous, so we moved Millar central and completely removed our attacking impetus. They were vulnerable at full back, we took advantage of that initially and then decided not to bother anymore. Absolutely bizarre. Then we changed shape again after their second goal and things just collapsed. We barely put a move together in the second half. Albie started well but lost impact when he was moved repeatedly, and then we took off DJ despite him looking decent in the second half compared to the rest. Wimbledon still needed us to gift them a goal, which of course we did, but I’m most worried by Adkins messing around so much. I’ll assume that he’s just trying stuff out for fun but I didn’t understand what we were doing today. Four different formations in a match where we were never behind is mystifying.

To those moaning about Schwartz, we hardly touched the ball ourselves for the final 20 mins. We lost our shape and possession.
  • No sense taking all of your creative players off to put 3 upfront as they just got no service.  Did Schwartz touch it?

Never known a season where our defenders make so many basic mistakes every game.  Amos diving out of the way of a shot down the middle.  Famewo passing it to their striker, Pratley did the same a couple of weeks ago.   Gunter has been at fault for 7 or 8. Deji /Pearce giving pointless fouls/pens, Purrington/Maatsen/Matthews all made needless individual errors.

    It is just woeful.

Second half we got pushed back far, far too easily. We went back to that terrible phase of the season where we kept playing it back to Pearce and Amos. Then we’d either try to pass it out and end up giving it back to Amos again or play long and lose possession.
Our midfield might as well have not been there.

Conceded 50 so far this season, more than anyone else in the top 11 of the division.

Only one team looked like winning second half.

Why we didn’t strength defence in Jan amazes me.

More goals conceded from defensive shitness cost us the points today. The second equaliser gave the oppo a new lease of life in the second half and in the end we did well to hold on for a point.

Hopefully Washy's injury isn't too bad and the fortnight break will be enough for him to recover - we need his running and movement!

As has been mentioned on the match thread Nads now has an idea of the scale of the task in hand i.e. bloody huge.

Defensively we're all over the shop, both full backs looked shakey at times and beaten too easily, and Famewo's error was worse than schoolboy.

However, I don't think the new boss can do anything with the real villain of today: @cantersaddick. I don't care if it's your birthday today, buying a streaming pass today was selfish and detrimental to the team. Hang your head in shame and think about what you've done.

Was DJ injured? Bowyer would have been slaughtered for subbing a sub today.
