    Whoever dreamt this up must be bursting with pride, knowing that the majority of vouchers won't be used.
    What a cunning plan/cunning stunt.

    NB if we're going to these lengths to save a few thousand pounds I don't fancy our chances of being in The Prem in 4 years.

    It's ridiculous, also winds me up that VG shop discount only works in person and not online... even though you have to log into your account (which shows your status) to make a purchase.

    I'll let the club get away with misleading us on the free ticket, drinks voucher & club shop discount if they bring in a marquee signing & blow the league away.

    ...gotta deliver on one of these loose promises!

    That's the irony...like morons most of us shell out hundreds each year to generally watch turgid, disappointing football out of perverse loyalty/masochism/ inherited  albatross curses and will do so for the remainder of our days without the need for any marketing incentive.

    Therefore if it's meant as a "thanks for your ongoing support" gesture is as wide of the mark as [insert poor historic Charlton striker] shot.

    If however it's aimed at attracting new supporters such as spurs supporting cabbies or sw London dwellers then I think the "incentive' will feel like a bit of a kick in the balls if it had any incentive whatsoever.

    Really really weird one and that's saying something with our own goal history of past decade.

    Not a major issue just very odd and ill conceived.

    The whole thing is just so amazingly amateurish, which reflects exactly the Calibre of the management at Charlton (excluding the playing side).

    Just seems like a waste of time for everyone. Personally, even if the club offered me 50% on drinks every home match I probably would not even take up the offer. Plenty of people like me dont buy stuff in the ground.

    It is just poor marketing. The fans who buy season tickets do so for the joy of watching their club play. They are likely to purchase in any event,  but then to mislead them with poorly worded pseudo incentives, actually then causes disappointment to the very people who would have bought anyway and makes them distrust the club. A simple lesson in how not to do it. 

    I bought  the early bird purely and simply because I want to be at the matches. The benefit of the free match ticket for any of my relatives who could make it on a day when they are available was a nice to have, I thought of taking my son on a weekend that he is not working.  I now discover that it has to be a weekend of the clubs choosing, so that incentive is a lost cause unless the stars align between the clubs choice and, my son's work schedule. 

    Even Miere treated us as customers, this treats us as mugs. If their had been no incentives I would still have bought and been happy now I have a sour taste in my mouth. 

    I also purchased in the first couple of days they were on sale and have neither received an email or the season tickets.

    To be fair, the free ticket shouldn’t really be an issue.

    They are limited to 500 per game and seeing as there is around 8,000ish “early birds” you’ll have to be mightily unlucky if 500 of them want a ticket for the same game as you.

    Much easier having a voucher that you can redeem when you like. Not one ONE specific match.

    They’d be better off encouraging fans into the bars earlier by having a happy hour, any drink has £1 discounted between 1pm-2pm for a 3pm kick off, and 17:45 - 18:45 on an evening game.
    That way fans are in the bars, spending money,  unlikely to leave (especially in winter) and also considering the revamped Royal Oak will take a lot of match day drinkers away from crossbars now.

    Not everyone has the same game, some people can’t use theirs until 2022!

    The objective is not to make it easier for the fans to use the vouchers.
    The objective is to make it difficult, so they are not used.

    They sold because of 

    a) excitement at seeing live football again
    b) gratitude to Thomas for saving our club
    c) expectation that we will be really good this season

    The freebies would have been a very very minor consideration
