A valiant effort today from the Addicks. Whilst we’ve won today’s battle, unfotunately winning the last place in the playoffs was a step beyond us. Accrignton did their part, but Burton failed to deliver. We miss out on goal difference
Injuries took their toll on our COVID-affected season. We came out of the gate this season with a run of fine form and finished the same. Can’t help but think what would’ve been if we’d had a consistent, solid centre-back pairing. If we’d performed marginally better in the middle of the season, perhaps we’d have been sitting pretty in a playoffs spot.
Now we’re able to concentrate on building for a League One challenge under Adkins.
Over to you.

Played well today and definitely did enough for the win which was all we could do. Ultimately the awful performances towards the end of Bowyers reign cost us.
Looking forward to seeing the squad we build over the summer. Just can’t wait to get back to the valley next season.
Unfortunately that two/three month period from Christmas really killed our season. So many stupid lost points.
I am looking forward to next season though. I have a feeling that we are relatively safe in Adkins hands - especially if we get recruitment right.
In Adkins first 10 games in charge we Won 5, drew 4 and lost 1. Beating Sunderland, Hull, Lincoln and not looking out of our depth against Peterborough on the way.
You can't turn your nose up at what Bows has done at Birmingham, but if only that change had a happened a few games earlier. We might be in a complete different situation.
We did what we had to do and it was good to end with a win against the Champions. A hollow victory though, given results elsewhere. So we miss out on the play offs on goal difference. Every team can point to points lost over the season but we threw away so many points against far inferior teams that we can only blame ourselves for falling short.
Finishing 7th feels like a failure but perhaps, given that we started the season under a transfer embargo and more than most hindered by the wage cap, we might reflect that we did well to come so close.
If there is a silver lining it’s that Nigel Adkins, Steve Gallen, Ged Roddy and, of course, Thomas Sandgaard, can now focus 100% on contracts and the much needed recruitment campaign. Looking forward to seeing what happens over the next 3 months and to getting back into the Valley to cheer the lads on to promotion next season.
Not being allowed to go has made this season a bit surreal.
Bring on next season with a fresh squad of players and an ambitious new owner with a decent new manager.
We will smash this wanky league next season.
love it

Tough season to get promoted.
For those players who will be with us next season, I hope they were made to watch hull lift the trophy, so it drives us next season. Nige just said ' that's us next season.
