That was a dire second half but job done again. Very difficult decision for Southgate now, Saka and Grealish showed their worth.

Really hope we utilise some of these better players in the next round. We've got a week to work on what hasn't been working.

Just imagine Saka, Grealish, Foden & Sancho under a different manager.
Not that the FA would appoint anyone ambitious.

    We'd probably get Phil Neville.

That would be funny if it wasnt actually a good possibility

Another boring, uninspired match . Well done England & Southgate. 3 games played, 2 goals scored. Will probably be the lowest scorers out of all the 16 teams that qualify for the knockouts. A great stat to have under your belt.

Isn't Southgate the first England manager to ever get to a world cup semi and the last 16 (or better) of a euros?

    #justsaying
England got to the semis in 1968, and oh yeah, won the World Cup in 66. Sir Alf. Granted the Euros was a different format.

More importantly 3 games, 7 points, 0 losses, 0 conceded
2 goals in 3 games. Stuff of dreams.

Imagine getting knocked out in the group stages or not even qualifying under a different manager.......
I would accept that if the team looked like they wanted to attack & score goals. I've seen most of the games so far & all the other teams at least give it a go.

We will get mullered next Tuesday, no matter who we play.

Get in. Unbeaten and group winners without conceding.  Will take that.
As if conceding goals matter. Look at some of the other games.....4-2, 3-1, 3-2.

Well if Southgate has chosen this is the style to play then he has to win the tournament.

He can't bore the nation through 6 hours of football only to not even win it.

We are the most boring team in the tournament.
Tbf he is sticking to his guns. And I suppose to most if he wins the next 4 games 1-0 he will be a hero. I personally dont agree but he is the manager and it is his prerogative to set his team up how he wants.

We have impressed small patches of games. The likes of Grealish and Saka show what we could be like if the manager was a little more brave (he won't be).

Just got to think that it's now sudden death games and anything can happen. We haven't conceded and I honestly think there is more to come from us going forward. Problem is Southgate still doesn't know his best team or formation. Still think we can do OK. Just need to be more positive in our play.

Boring, dispiriting, slow. More passes backwards than forwards.

One thing is certain... When we attacked at one stage in the first half, the Czechs had about ten players back behind the ball - England have always struggled to break teams down if they sit back.

But we can play any of our attacking players who can equally cause hell for any team that leaves us space on the counter - After all, our defence now go into the round of sixteen full of confidence.

Exactly like the season just gone... If you concede a ton of goals each game, there will be no prizes at the end of it, regardless of how good your Strikers are as you cant rely on them to score every opportunity.

I'll bet you all the tea in China that any team that doesn't score for 2 games wont be going any further. You might get through 1 game 0-0 and winning on pens but you wont do it twice - esp if you are playing the Dutch, the Italians or the French
