Fair result overall. I felt Rotherham looked very sharp in the first half and I was happy with how hard the team worked as a unit to manage their threat. We just couldn’t get hold of the ball and work it and put them under any pressure. Conceding before HT is always a sickener, but decent performance in the second half and we definitely deserved our equaliser.
Real fight and determination all the way through. Tonight we just didn’t have that little bit more magic in the final third, but it’s coming. We’re going in the right direction and it’s good to see.
Another tick in the box for Jackson to be given the full time role for me. I honestly don’t think we need to look for anyone else
It’s night and day between Accrington and the last 3 games. Formation, intent, fitness and playing for the shirt. Cannot be prouder of the boys and the last 3 games have been an absolute joy to watch.
As a neutral I thought Charlton looked far better than under Adkins. Far more effort and commitment. The referee was appalling. A yellow card for an elbow in the face and no card for a body check Owen Farrell would have been proud of. I say 'neutral' but my grandson is a member of the U14 academy. He made his debut for Wales U15 today, a year up, as centre back in a 1-1 draw with Slovakia.
First half Rotherham were better than us but we had some decent chances, Washington's header looked like it should have been better, we ended the half enraged. Instead of folding we took that anger into the second half and forced them back, they still looked dangerous on the break, but we built momentum. We got a deserved equaliser and at that point I thought we would go on and snatch it.
Decent point against a side that to finish above would promotion, shame the ref bottled it.
So now the problem we thought was the main one when the season got going is clear again, that we do not have a natural goalscorer. Now that the rest of the time is clicking, that is what will hold us back. Priority for January or more realistically July.
Well Done Jacko and the lads, best team second half and I feel we could have won the game. their first goal was hand ball in my opinion the referee was a totally blind WANKER. as they should have been down to 10 men. great point well done Charlton 👍👍👍👍
Thats all I want from any Charlton team regardless of the result or who we are playing, leave it all out there. Chase lost causes, bust a lung to get in the box, win the ball back (Elliot Lee losing the ball and chasing back 70 yards to win it back and win a foul summed this up) and attack the game. Jacko is squeezing every ounce out of this mob who a month ago I was completely questioning their character not only as footballers but as human beings. We have the squad to play with that intensity every game and it will see us win more often than not.
A draw v Rotherham who were my pre season picks for top 2 is a good result and says how much things have turned around that I'm a bit gutted officials have been the deciding factor (foul throw and handball for their goal and should have had the left back sent off)

A few individual performances had their ups and downs - Stockley a poor game, Gilbey was a notch below his recent performances, Washington was very profligate etc etc. But every last one of them bust a gut for the cause. A great team effort. That was a good point against a good side and, with a bit of luck, could have been three. Chalk and cheese from a few weeks ago. Long may it continue. Special shout out for the ref. What an absolute clown.
Happy with a point. Draw a fair result on reflection, they were better first half but we were better second. Ref shocking for both teams, but it got the crowd going and made for a really enjoyable game. Can't beat the Valley under the lights!
That short corner in the first half was criminal, as was Stockleys swipe at the ball with 30 seconds left. Oh and give JJ the job, felt like proper Charlton

Coming from behind to claim a point against a top-of-the-table side is better.
All hail Jacko!

Who would have thought a few weeks ago that we look more likely to score a headed goal from Ben Purr?
The ref was an utter disgrace.
Great support getting behind the team especially when we wouldn't give up 2nd half.
And what a save!
Great point.
But boy that second was quiet something. Really enjoyed that, and hope that JJ and the team can go from strength to strength from here.
Three weeks ago I shudder to think ………
Something special happening
