    Deserved equaliser.
The difference under Jackson is not looking like a fluke now.
Take a bow Jason Pearce by the way.
First game this season I would say our goalkeeper earned us a point.
That save from what looked like a point blank header was vital.

That was exactly how Rotherham accepted the result, a point away at tough opposition, whereas 2 weeks ago we were cannon fodder
Crazy the difference in only 2 weeks.  With each game that passes under Jackson, it shows just how drastic it had got under NA.

You look at Dobson over the last 3 games, and you question how he preferred to pick Watson for example.  He was a bit erratic tonight, but Stockley looks so much more at ease in this set up.  Famewo looks more like the bloke I remember at the start of last season.  The balance and the set up looks like it’s been thought through, and above all the work rate and the basics are there.

I genuinely had fears 2 weeks ago that although we had the wrong manager, I thought some of those players just weren’t good enough.  Jackson’s completely sucked all of the bad blood out the team and got them playing for the shirt again.  I’m a bit annoyed the Burton game might be off because of the intl break given the buzz about the team.  I suppose the flip side of that is thank God the Rotherham game got called off from a few weeks back - I dread to think what the score would’ve been

Great game, spirited performance, fair result. So pleased it was Washington that got the equaliser, he absolutely ran his socks off and deserved for one of those chances to go in.

    Give him the job.

He’s brought back the feel good factor when it was completely toxic 3 weeks ago, for that alone he deserves a real crack at it. He’s turned the “worst team in our history”, which in reality was a bunch of individuals, into an entertaining and hardworking unit.

We might not go on a fairytale journey back to the Premier League, but Jackson has already shown himself to be a talented young manager. What we’re looking for is already here.
He is going to get the job for the reasons you state. No problem waiting until Christmas for it.
Yeah that’s fine. I don’t mind the owner waiting another month.

But he’s already got my vote!

The “throw in” that lead to their goal.
Referees and linesmen have completely given up on giving g frees for foul throws

Absolutely this, TS isn’t going to change things while there is improvement, he said he will give JJ time, the situation at the moment suits both parties.

I think Dobson can be forgiven tonight, as their 10 dropped in the hole and they had an excellent midfield 3, so he was almost caught between a rock and hard place. Still thought he battled well and broke up play first half. Certainly didn’t look out of place.
I thought he had a decent game again.  Against much tougher opposition and might not have had the influence he had on Saturday but really showing his potential and claiming that defensive midfielder slot as his own

Thought the atmosphere was great in the second half too. Covered end sucking the ball into the net once again

My wife, rightly, said compared to when she last saw them that it’s a different team. They showed spirit and bouncebackability which should take us far.
We matched Rotherham and didn’t look like a team that needs to be looking down the table but up.
All in all a fair result from a pleasing performance.
The ref and Lino weren’t very good though we’re they?

Great team performance tonight against a very solid Rotherham side, you can see why they are so high up the table, quick to the second ball and seldom wasted it.

That said, as the game went on, we got at them and forced a few errors towards the end and perhaps could even have knicked it.

Can't believe this is the side I watched/endured at Lincoln just a few weeks ago.

Very happy Addick tonight and am going to go Saturday now.

Wasn't scared to lose the ball. Ok, they were a decent team and intercepted a few, but I don't have a problem with that. Most teams won't handle it as well. You have to play with some courage and we are doing that now whilst we played like cowards before JJ took over.

Also, wasn't Stockley one booking from a one game suspension? If so, doe he miss Saturday? Not a bad booking if he does although it impacted on his game a bit I thought.

Most pleased I’ve been with a draw for a long time.
The difference is crazy, I think we will sneak into the play offs.
  • 16 points after 16 matches. From now we need c two points per game to get to 70s and be in with a chance of the play-offs. Tall order but not out of the question.

    We drew.

Thought Rotherham were the best side I've seen us play this season.

They have height, pace (can we buy their centre half?) and skill. You can see why they are near the top.

But we matched them and might have nicked it.

Washington knew he should have scored before he did hence the muted celebration but typical 100% effort from him that earned us a point.

First half were trying too many wonder passes rather than building the attacks.

Second half we were better, got it on the deck and pressurised Rotherham.

Great spirit to come from 1 down. Credit to JJ and the players for that.

Ref was terrible, lost the plot big time but not going to go all Lee Johnson.

It was a good game, it had everything bar a late winner

We certainly have enough games on our side. Plan a is mid table first. See where we are at Christmas but we certainly shouldn't write this season off.

After seeing NA's use of Stockley as a lone striker with no support, my eyes sometimes need refreshing to believe am seeing Stockle, Washington, Lee, Gilbey and Purrington all in the box on most attacks!

  • Draw was the very least that we deserved tonight.

Thought 0-0 at HT would have been a fair scoreline, we had the chances yet they did the one thing that matters - Not Rotherham's fault that the officials were absolute tools today, and without doubt will be up and around the top six come May.

Probably the best team we've seen down the Valley, certainly in the First Half as they did dictate play, yet were extremely wasteful in front of goal, and looked suspectable when we attacked ourselves... Could easily have been 3-0 either way at the break had either side shown any level of composure, Rotherham in addition were more like the QPR that we beat (Jackson in the last minute), plenty of puff but no end product.

Credit to Jackson for motivating the team at half-time as we really did concede at the wrong time, but you wouldn't have thought it the way we started the second half - Deserved to get a couple but once again composure was lacking a bit in front of goal for us.

Maybe he should have made changes earlier, but we saw against Wigan how changes can also have the reverse effect.

Washington might be limited in front of goal but was great to see him scoring from opening play at long last again - You have to go back to the Bristol Rovers win (another Jackson game in charge) to find his last goal that wasn't from the spot... He's such a critical player though if we play the high press, ironically we all say its easy to just run about a bit, but dont think there is a single player in the team that can show those levels of desire to keep chasing lost ball after lost ball.

Rotherham are a very good team and we matched them, wore them down and could/should have won it. Again, Jacko got the team playing with a really high tempo that just wore them down. And, we have some skill as well. It's not all about an initial manager bounce with battling performances. There was also plenty of skill out there.
The referee was atrocious and went from bad to worse as the game went on. He probably didn't expect such a high temp game, what with us sitting 5th from bottom. He just couldn't handle it. Too big a game commitment wise for him in my opinion.
Every player put in a shift. It's a shame now we may have to wait 2 or 3 weeks for the next league game. All these breaks annoy me. Just to please the elites. Oh well, it is what it is I suppose.
Jacko, you continue to deliver and long may it continue.

Chris Gunter in a back 3 is some Bananaman eating a banana stuff / shit
Does that mean he was good or bad in your opinion ?

It means he was a weedy schoolboy in a back 4, but then Jacko fed him the banana of being in a back 3 and now he is a superhero and he fights crime
Why couldn't you have said that in the first place so all of us old codgers understood what you were saying ?  :D

Conor Washington and his brushes with Lady Luck was like watching a guy trying to pull a bird in a club. She kept turning away his (gentlemanly) advances all night  - not quite getting his first touch right, ball not bouncing kindly for him, not reading the flight of a pass - only to succumb as the lights were about to go up on the evening. He worked his arse off tonight and thoroughly deserved that goal, with luck helping him via what looked like a small deflection.

The idiot who who set up the clear as mud diversion signs on the A2 is almost as cretinous as tonight’s referee.

Have to say that’s the most gutsy second half I have seen from a Charlton team in a while.

Jackson has definitely got them playing, far better than Adkins did.

That referee was the most inept I have seen for many a year and that really is saying something. So many wrong decisions and complete lack of understanding about playing advantage. Totally bottled the sending off of their defender. He ruined a good game.

The “throw in” that lead to their goal.
As a retired referee with 40 years experience it is most certainl a foul throw, but you dont see them given these days. The referee in my opinion was totally inept all game.
Wait what’s wrong with the throw? Which of the three points below?

At the moment of delivering the ball, the thrower must:
    • stand facing the field of play
    • have part of each foot on the touchline or on the ground outside the touchline
    • throw the ball with both hands from behind and over the head from the point where it left the field of play

Seeing Wood and Pearce today felt like a good carry on of Chiellini and Bonnuci!

So now the problem we thought was the main one when the season got going is clear again, that we do not have a natural goalscorer. Now that the rest of the time is clicking, that is what will hold us back.
Priority for January or more realistically July.
Probably agree, we're not nearly clinical enough. Washington wasted a good few chances before he scored with a lucky deflection.

His workmate and the runs he makes are very very good but I do think we could do with a proper finisher in the side
He's carrying one of these around ?  BLACKDECKER Workmate Plus Work Bench Tool Stand Saw Horse Dual Height with Heavy Duty Steel Frame WM825 No wonder he's not so great in front of goal

tonight only convinces me even more that jacko should be given the job - rotherham were very good and we resorted to long balls into the channel as the first half wore on and just battling to stop them - second half we were clearly told to play football - short passes, build attacks and we kept up the press and work rtate and got stronger and stronger - can't think of one game with adkins in charge where we got stronger as the game went on -as the opposing manager usually made the changes that meant the reverse -  give the job to jacko TS - we weren't better than Rotherham overall but jacko got the maximum out of what we have - with Leko fit and a shit hot striker signed in January, we could be better than Rotherham by the end of the season

The “throw in” that lead to their goal.
Nothing wrong with that throw, but i reckon the ball rolled down the guy's arm on the byline.
use both hands to deliver the ball from behind and over the head. That doesn't go behind his head, it's a a foul throw by the letter of the game. Unfortunately foul throws are all to seldom given.

Three games in and three TEAM performances. Cant argue with the way we are playing.

Slightly disappointed in a positive way that we didn't win that.....couldnt imagine saying that three weeks back.

Curbs even said under Adkins we would have been three down at half time, that's a testament to how well we defend now as a team.

Id like to see a strong side out against Waterlooville seeing as we probably won't have a league game now until the 20th.

Shame its not being streamed....will break my 100% record.

    Onwards and upwards.
