We won
Any away win is a good win.
Squad looking threadbare before KO but players previously written off by some (was Dobson but today Clare) stepped up. Will need the same v Plymouth.
JJ to be announced as perm manager before KO next Saturday
It looked a messy coming together. TBH if they both got a yellow, you would probably have your money on Stockley getting sent off. It's been a long time coming. I was surprised in the Welling friendly, he tried to have a fight with an opposition player and seems to want to be a L1 "hardman". Whatever happened to the well spoken, charismatic winner on the pitch.
Really good goal from Purrington. DJ's crossing has been very good since playing RWB.
Remember with 2 players away on International duty, it was always going to be tough. We played 40 mins with our 5th choice forward.
I felt after the Rotherham game that it was time to appoint Jacko, and today only made me feel that more strongly. Not a controversial stance obviously. But I learned as much about him as a manager in the Rotherham draw and the win today as I did in the first two games. This is a well drilled, well organized side that has a clear game plan, can play football, and looks to compete.
The Doncaster result was great but you've also got to go and get scrappy results against mid table sides when things aren't going to plan. And we did that.
I suspect there will be an announcement in the build up to next weekend's #FillTheValley.
Take a bow Johnnie Jackson. Knows the heart of this club and has got that touch of class about him. We’ve found our manager.
Wasn’t at the game so will look forward to more in-depth reviews from those that were. Sounds gritty, but good teams win and turn in those sorts of performances.
Let’s just keep getting the wins and see how far we can go.
Also, really looking forward to next Saturday. Great win for Plymouth today and I will relish facing a team that are on the run they are. It’s a big incentive. The injuries and suspensions aren’t great, but I reckon Plymouth will know they’ll have a tough game on their hands
Kettle has now sent off 6 Charlton players in 5 different games and we haven't lost any of them.
Solid performance, really good defensively but a bit lacking going forward.
A bit worried about next week as the defensive missing list is growing, but we can worry about that later. Another 3 points and our play off charge goes on.
Great result, these boys can play dirty when needed, the difference in the last 4 games is incredible, if only Adkins was sacked earlier we might be in a better position.

Did my "stay away from anything football related between 3 and 5" superstition again today, went to the BBC website at 5: "Yay, 1-0! SHIT, we're still playing. Go back, before you jinx them..."
Now I think I might have a wander over to the match thread, and see how you all coped with that, and try to get a bit more context before the Quest highlights at 9.
Well that was a proper Charlton performance. Without exception, every player giving 100%. How JJ has turned the same bunch of players who looked misfits under NA into a hard-working and skillful team is unbelievable.
Maybe a bit unfair to pick players out but I thought Jason Pearce was brilliant. This man is unbelievable - written off so many times but just keeps coming back and putting in incredible defensive performances. I honestly think Burton players would have had to have driven over him in a steam roller to get past him today.
And big shout outs to Clare - super performance considering apart from the FA cup game he has never plated in a back 3 ; Purrington - how on earth did NA think the lad from Palace who has scarcely played in the last few months was a better player?;Famewo - a real rock again; Dobson - again everywhere; and Jaiyesimi _ I'll be honest I've not been his greatest fan so far but today he played his heart out. More of the same please DJ.
And finally the referee. What on earth can you say? Surely the time has come when Charlton write to the League and just say we don't ever want this man to referee our games again.
The reds were probably the lino's fault. Kettle wasn't even looking at it. Whilst accepting I could have missed something, two yellows looked right. Might be worth letting Kettle have a look at it with that in mind.
Pearce and Purrington both superb today. Three points and a clean sheet. Mid table within touching distance and if we did beat Plymouth we then have 2 very winnable games to nudge us closer to the play offs.
Proper professional performance by Jacko's giants today, the kind of display that really should give us real optimism that we can make a push for the play offs. Considering I was resigned to enduring a piss poor season looking over our shoulders a few short weeks ago I can't believe I'm writing that. I know hindsight is a wonderful thing but just think how things could've been if we'd given JJ the chance to have a go after Bowyer walked.

They were going great guns, about 400 matches unbeaten, and Bows' side tore them a new one in front of a rocking Valley.
Jacko's got this side motoring, it'll be close to a full house ...
In Jacko We Trust.

He was always a poor appointment!
