With Stockley out is it too soon to be putting Burstow on the bench for Plymouth?
Don't think that we have any option, tbh.
Depends on Leko’ s fitness, Washington returning injury free and most importantly whether JJ thinks the lad Burstow is ready.
He isn't. Davison, Washington, Lee and Leko if fit are enough forward options anyway. The defence is a bigger worry with only one centre back he may give Elewere a shot but I doubt it. More likely Pearce and Gunter in the middle or maybe even Purrington. Not ideal whichever it is.
Didn’t see the game today as I was travelling back to the U.K from Vietnam.. 16 hours later and all I can say is Big Ben scores again, I f-ing knew it! Hopefully I’ll be at Plymouth for my first game in over 3 years. Come on you reds!

First half was mad and after the Kettle Show we dominated. Second half, Kettle had clearly taken a tranquilliser at half time (Arter must have advised him!). Very enjoyable afternoon.
Got back home at 6.30pm. Respect for the travelling fans who have a much longer journey - our support was immense.

Absolutely love the video of the team in the dressing room getting Monday off. That’s exactly how a squad should look like. Buzzing. Enjoy your job, confidence and morale is so important, especially at league one level. Jackson building something special.
The reds were probably the lino's fault. Kettle wasn't even looking at it. Whilst accepting I could have missed something, two yellows looked right. Might be worth letting Kettle have a look at it with that in mind.
Always 2 yellows for me. It was crap from both players to be rolling around on the floor like that, and even if it got heated, the incident was not effecting the current state of play.
Better ref would have taken them both aside, gave them a massive talking at the same time to make a point of it and then yellow’d them. Would have controlled the game much better that way Kettle couldn’t wait to get his red out the moment he heard from the Lino.
If you go round throwing elbows & grappling with each other then tte ref has no option than to send you off. Hands were raised......players might have been on the floor but that is no excuse.
The guy on Radio London said it was the same sort of thing that happened on every corner - except on this occasion - they happened to be horizontal, which made things look a lot worse.

Out on the piss all weekend, that's why they're happy
And finally the referee. What on earth can you say? Surely the time has come when Charlton write to the League and just say we don't ever want this man to referee our games again.
You know, my thoughts exactly.
Kettle causes more tension, aggravation and winds up players. It's like so much of his performance is extreme and OTT. He's the star of his own show. Whatever happened to the definition of the best referee is one that you hardly notice?
And it's not just us. It seems like every club in the division has a grievance with Kettle. What does that tell you?
Exactly. Yet it seems like there is nothing to be done about him.
This is the bloke who sent Naby Sarr off after 48 seconds. Forty Eight Seconds. And just as today, he made a big thing of going over to the lino before giving his Big Decision with due ceremony. The difference was that you assume that in the Nabsters case he at least saw something of it. Today, as Valley Pass showed, he wasnt even looking. He basically uses the lino as his alibi, before making his Big Decision.
We really have a right to expect that if there is doubt so early in the game, the ref errs on the side of caution. He is there to preserve as far as possible a spectacle that people have paid for, and not to create the spectacle. Especially in the lower leagues, where his Big Decision means a 3 match suspension and you havent got another well known international player to step in. And shame on the football authorities that this happens so often, yet here he is again.
I've been to Lincoln, Sunderland and Burton in the last few weeks and the turn around in the away end has been unreal. From the toxicity of Lincoln to a real buzz today. We have gone to a team that crumpled under pressure to one with grit.
A month ago I felt little connection to any of the players and couldn't wait for the end of the season just to see the back of several them. This evening I have turned the corner and that was epitomised by the Elliot Lee chant. My group didn't think he had a particularly great game, but it felt like it was the fans wanting to give something back after the last few games.
Jacko has got them leaving it all on the pitch. I can't say how happy it makes me to see players, who got a raw deal from previous managers, come in and show what they can bring to the team. They have worked hard, acted professionally and are getting their rewards.

Satnav did us proud with perfect directions there & back, with no holdups whatsoever. What went wrong ?
Lovely lunch in the Brewery Tap with our 4 pals then a 20 minute sprint to the ground ( barman told us it was 10 ! ) that Usain Bolt would have been proud of, making kick off by 30 seconds....
Was it worth it ?
100% yes !
A hard fought, tough & testing match against a pretty physical team with, for example, Akin battling hard, shoulder to shoulder with his opponent time after time. Just one of our lads to show guts & determination in the face of our " favourite" man in black's penchant for flourishing yellow cards. Sadly, we'll miss the defender's presence next Saturday.
Where we sat, in the far corner from the afternoon's "heated handbags " moment, it was impossible to see what had caused the ruckus but the carte rouge held aloft, seemingly in triumph by the self appointed star of the day, was a bad sign...We thought initially it was in the direction of Captain Courageous but it soon became evident that Jayden would be the player MIA for the next 3 games. Then, before cries of anguish & anger had the opportunity to blare out of the away end, the sight of a Burton player making the walk of shame made the situation a tad more bearable. Not a memorable afternoon for Stockers & Deji O....
But, we regrouped and Ben's goal was the icing on a slightly wobbly cake, bless his heart. It was good to hear others singing his praises as he's definitely one of our unsung heroes IMO. An honest, no frills guy who's popping up with his share of goals now in addition to his defending duties.
Numerous bookings for both team aside, it was a fairly even game overall but the best chances fell to the men in the red shirts for sure. I wouldn't say that we held on to the 3 points by our fingertips but grinding out a result was the phrase to describe the performance.
But, paramount, was the sight of 10 good men & true, giving their all for the cause despite the call ups for 2 first team regulars who will need to be at their best when the Pilgrims visit SE7 next weekend. Pre match, it was thought that Sean Clare might be deployed at the back & he fitted in there perfectly. As George Dobson has shown, we shouldn't be too quick to criticise those non regulars in this squad....JJ & JE have found the magic formula to get the best out of them all & have instilled pride & confidence in each & every one.
Finally, a special word for young Josh playing up front alone for the majority of the game. Mr F pointed out that he was starting to struggle when subbed which was understandable as he'd totally run his socks off, chasing down defenders, challenging their keeper & defending from the front. Well done, young man !
So, a BIG crowd and the presence of our owner next Saturday.
What a great opportunity to introduce our very own Jacko as permanent Manager on the pitch before kick off !

When we are united, we have the best away singing in the division. Some of the noise during the Bowyer years was the best I can ever remember when watching Charlton, and to be fair it started under Robinson.

So my contribution
What a great day out
Davison ran his legs off alone up front.
Great day from start to finish.

Come on, Thomas !
You KNOW it makes sense !
Onwards & upwards !
That was a special day, away fans top class yet again.
We're on our way back. Love my club tonight
