A hapless performance from Charlton at Barnsley this afternoon won’t need much summary or analysis. Barnsley did little all afternoon, except score three goals. Charlton huffed and puffed, but were less than useless in front of goal. A thirty yard wonderstrike from Barnsley’s Benson, who found himself with enough space and time to compose himself and pick his spot, got Barnsley off the mark. Conversely, the few shots Charlton mustered could only find the stand behind. Charlton played some decent football at times, but any threat consistently fizzled out in the final third.
The second half was similar to the first. But Barnsley scored two this period. So, really it was worse! Charlton’s second half was laboured and poor, but after a slew(sp?) of substitutions, Payne scored a consolation goal. We showcased some comedic defending at times to cap off a bad day. We’re really not very good at either end.
Barnsley 3 Charlton 1
Over to you.

Protests against TS.
Nothing else to suggest
Long season ahead, expect Garner will be gone before Xmas the way its going
2 wins in 10 and 16th in League One just above the relegation zone.
We kidded ourselves our team/ squad is an improvement on last year. It’s not. Or Garner is not as good a manager as Jackson.
An owner insisting on a style of play but not investing in the players to deliver it. We’ve signed a bunch of cheap and lower league players and it shows. You get what you pay for (or don’t in our case).
Feel sorry for the manager and the players as neither are good enough to overcome the set up to fail framework Sandgaard has put in place.
The sooner he sells up to someone who has the nous to get football people in to run the club and/or can back up words with actions the better. Heading to the lower leagues on and off the pitch under his stewardship. He’s clueless and it shows and we’re only going in one direction under him.
Grim.
Bowyer is an obvious starter for 10.
He clearly wanted to get a striker who would fit the system and another left back, he mentioned both specifically.
TS didn't back him, we look short of goals and have players being played out of position at LB.
Funny that.
Fair play, but taking the blame is only one part of the equation. The next is analyzing what went wrong and improving it.
I don't think Garner is the biggest problem here, I think he's a bright young coach, but he does need to do better with things like defensive shape in our own third, defending in transition, and working on the final ball matching runners into the box.
more evidence for my boooing works theory
But
But
But
Asking Garner to challenge for promotion with this group of players is like asking Lewis Hamilton to win a grand prix race in a Ford Capri.
Only on person to blame for how this season is playing out and that's Sandgaard for not giving Garner the players he needs.
big test for the manager now, will he change things or will he stick with it. Unfortunately I think he wont try anything different and have the BristolRovers Garner rather than the Swindon Garner
Where do we go from here? We’d be in the playoffs if we could take more chances, but we’ll be in a relegation battle if we don’t improve.
Hitting the target, hitting the target (interchangeable with Corey and Rak-Sakyi because I don’t think Stockley even has shots any more)

Garner is our fourth manager in less than two years. I think he's the brightest and seems the most highly regarded within the game. Changing him now won't make things better.
