Like with Adkins, then Jackson, then Garner, now Holden.
Shuffling the deck chairs on the titanic and pretending the squad is better than it actually is, is why we're in the same situation every single season.
100%. Whoever plays for us is almost automatically one of the best in the league. Same every year.
We absolutely over rate and over slate players on here, but for me it was listening to the Not Top 20 podcast a couple of weeks ago where they were glowing about adding Isted, Edun, Taylor, Camara, and May. You need only look at how the four outfield players have been deployed to see that we haven't played to any of their strengths most of the time.
We may be a basket case of a club, but I genuinely think if you went around the league most people in the game would say we made good additions this summer.
Not sure this is where the blame lies. Or that new management will do any better without decent investment. But I guess the new owners have to flex their collective muscles ...
Right decision. The squad may not be the finished article but we could have a £30m squad and still be shite with the dismal coaching and tactical naivety Holden’s responsible for.
is it? We will just appoint another manager, give him a long contract and then sack him. Lack of investment on the playing side is the problem.
You can only coach the players you have - we have a squad full of shit ones…again.
The squad may not be good enough yet for a promotion challenge but it’s not “full of shit ones”. That’s just cobblers. Being silent on the touchline when Asiimwe was the last man, leaving us ludicrously exposed to the counter for their winner yesterday, was gross professional incompetence on Holden’s part and, in the circumstances of desperately needing a point, unforgivable. Curbs would have been going ballistic, whistling and barking at least at some of the players who’d gone forward to assume defensive positions. Of course they need to appoint the right manager now but Holden is patently not a good enough coach and us tactically naive. He’d had his chance.
"Gross professional incompetence"? Behave. I had you down as intelligent, but to use that line in this context proves me wrong.
The feeling’s entirely mutual. Don’t know what you’d expect your manager to do if you were an owner but I’d damn well expect him to avoid gifting crucial goals in that manner. Gross professional incompetence indeed.

We've released/sold 14 first-team players since January.
We've signed 8 players.
Make it make sense. We are a basket case relying on kids.
Never have I've been so pleased not to have bought a Season Ticket.
Joke of a club.
You see Golfie, I agree with a lot of your criticisms of the club. Problem is, people like us only ever have one club. If we don't support them with our money, in the end it is only ourselves we are harming. The owners will change, the players will change. Only the supporters stay the same. We have to keep paying, or we are no longer supporters.
Holden seemed a good bloke so wish him well for the future and I'm sure he'll succeed somewhere
17 (+ 5 caretakers).
Curbishley appointed 32 years ago so thats 15 years with one manager then followed by 17 years = 17 managers (wonder why we been so unsuccessful recently?

I agree entirely, that was it for me, considering it was the 3rd consecutive game making similar mistakes. You wouldn't expect a pub team or kid's team to be that reckless & naive. We may have a disappointing squad thus far, but it's still strong enough to have won all the home games and picked up a point away maybe.
C ya, if you insist on playing 352 but don't have the players to do it and you can't manage to train them to play longer than 80 mins then you need to fuck off. Nice guy, shit coach
No need for that sort of tone. I’m not unhappy he’s gone but you’re an adult, grow up and don’t be a prick.

I make that 17 managers since Curbs left.

also something went wrong pre season didn’t it, supposedly going to be super fit, and we look physically fucked after 75 minutes
