NJ has got his work cut out....he needs announcing immediately he needs to start work on Monday! As for today, yet another defensive screw up and we lose. We didn't look like scoring, but the stupid mistakes keep costing us at least a point!
Major major trouble. Massive roll of the dice on Jones. Here’s hoping he can do it. Relegation to League 1 was supposed to be a holiday where we’d batter everyone. Imagine being in division 4... Imperative we stay up
Carry on like this and we won't be imagining it!
Each transfer window must get more difficult with our reputation as career killers.
But does anyone else think that we could sign a world best XI and still be shit? Like genuinely it’s like we have a disease slowly shutting the team down that we don’t have a cure for it.
Spot on. I won't use the Big C word because i have it myself but it's like we are rotten to the core and no player , manager or owner has the answer and neither do we to be fair.

I still don't really understand how these players are so poor; they shouldn't be on paper. I'm hoping Jones is the right appointment, but I can't help thinking Warnock would be a better fit right now.
BIG BIG BIG game next Saturday at Reading. Lose that & most likely we'll be in the bottom 4. Port Vale have 3 games in hand on us so I expect at some point they will go above us.
The only saving grace is that there might be just 1 relegation spot to fight for. If either Carlisle or Fleetwood go above us then we will go down. It could be between & Reading for 4th bottom. Imagine getting relegated to team who've had points deducted.
Andy Scott & the rest of the footballing Board have serious questions to answer. To get to February and have THAT squad is indefensible.
We wont survive in league 2. Simple as that - so forget jokes about seeing new grounds.
This has been on the horizon for a good couple of months. We moved too slow on sacking MA, and we are approaching the challenge to stay up and the new manager selection in completely the wrong way IMO. What Jones has or hasn't done in the past is irrelevant in our state. You can have the best brain surgeon in the world, but if the patient crashes on the table before they have a chance to get to work its no good.
Going down isn't just about what happens to a club on the pitch, it's about so much more. The heart of our club is broken, people are now going past anger and now not giving a shit which is so dangerous.
Derby five clean sheets from their last nine away games makes it hard to judge whether we were toothless or they’re just very good at keeping the ball out of the net. Probably both?
We started both halves well - would go as far as to say we were better than them for those periods. And they weren’t exactly better than us for long spells at all. But for all the effort, I think it dawned on us that there was going to be no way through them today and the confidence was sapped.
Another day where one mistake costs us but taking in the whole game, I do see signs of positive play and that the next win is right around the corner. It may even be next week at Reading.
I genuinely wish I could be as optimistic as you. Fair play mate
It would have been 0-0 had it not been for the comedy goal. Jones will have to stop our defenders passing or dribbling out of defence. Apart from that the defence looked better today, especially Thomas and Ness.
The problem upfront is harder to fix. With no proper wingers we have to play somebody creative in the 10 role. Alfie May did it at the start of the second half during our best period and his energy made a difference. Bakinson is not a 10. I do not understand why we kept Louis Watson if he is not good enough to play as a 10, his natural position.
The squad reinforcements have not so far looked right. God help Nathan Jones.
I honestly feel if Jones is not able to change the weak & fragile mentality in this team by next Saturday and Reading turn us over then we are going down.
As we have such a tough run and all we can hope for is that new manager bounce.
Decisions to let Fraser and CBT go looking even worse given the lack of creativity. Regardless of whether CBT supposedly went on strike letting him go with no replacement for his creativity is really going to cost us

This is exactly it. Jones wont work. Sorry but he wont.
Thats no dig at him, or his skills, but he isn't what we need in our state. He may well be a great manager, but the problems lie so much deeper. We are not recoverable in a logical and methodical way. I said back when the current consortium took over that they needed to uncover what being Charlton Athletic is all about again. We are not like any other club - we have had periods of success, but they have happened in ways that are synonymous with being an Addick.
19th, 3 points clear of the drop but all of the teams below us have games in hand, including Port Vale with three games in hand and one point behind us.
Frustrating game. We're set up for 0-0 and nicking a goal, but can't stop individual mistakes. That first half setup was far too defensive, we didn't look weaker after sacrificing one of the midfielders.
The endless subs did confuse things as well, Edun, Thomas and Watson all had turns at left wing back before Campbell came on. Thomas played in 3 or 4 different positions, middle CB, left wingback, left CB and then left back? I thought he looked our most effective left wingback incidentally.

Nothing to suggest, and one thing being forgotten, is the fact that none of those teams will suddenly turn into winning machines over the next couple of months either.
We're all down the bottom because we cant win games.
Nor are we being cut adrift, win one game, and we could suddenly find ourselves with up to four teams between us and our current position

No width
No creativity
Devoid of ideas

This is not going to end well.

When their keeper went down towards the end for an “injury” he let go of the ball. We should have put the ball in the net, as the ref hadn’t blown.
I couldn't boo them as they tried their best, but most aren't good enough and/or we dont have better players.
We are in serious danger of going down. I started saying this months ago & was laughed at. I hope some people are now listening.

This didn't have to happen.

Ladapo still looks very rusty.

They don't need to be winning machines, just better than us.
