Kanu fantastic again and what a strike Anderson. Coventry superb second half and comfortably best games from REG and Gillesphey.

    Wow, wow, wow.
Andersons goal is my goal of the season already.
Not only a great goal, but its importance of it is unreal.
    Jones fantastic at the end.
  • Kanu’s running was immense. Anderson excellent with the goal topping it all. Defence looking strong. If only Jones had come in earlier we would be talking about a promotion clash.
  • Monster result
never saw this in a month of Sundays

Such a great 2nd half performance at a top side. First win there for 25 years. An Stockley 93rd min goal man's we are 5 points above Vale who were level with us at half time. NJ looked like Klopp at Wembley lifting the cup. He is really feeling this. I think we have potentially a great manager. Very, very early days, but wow.

    MOM Coventry.

So many performances today! Reg was excellent, Kanu unstoppable, Anderson quality all game and a great finish, Coventry's second half showing a thing of beauty, May and Aneke full of energy and quality when they came on. Unlucky to be losing at half time, the second half performance was superb. Also a shout out to Isted who inspired confidence again. 5 points from 9 against the top three - we are staying up!
  • Drop Dobson and look what happens! All you Andy Scott doubters take note….

The last two games have perfectly demonstrated why that solid defensive base is always the foundation for success. It was ugly, it was hard to watch, but, even though we conceded, we were still in touching distance. Crucially, that meant when their keeper had a rush of blood to the head and we got that bit of luck for Kanu’s shot to bounce back to Anderson (who still had plenty to do, btw), we were scoring goals to win three points, not rescue one.

Fair play to Nathan Jones for turning our defending around so dramatically. I really hope it lasts.  Also, great managerial vision from him to pick Kanu, Anderson, and Small (who, let’s not forget, couldn’t get a game in bloody Scotland) as the players to turn us around. The three of them, all under 20 (!), have made a huge difference.

The warm inner glow of a well deserved and hard-fought win on the road. It’s a been a long time, but welcome home my old friend – please stick around for while.

  • Superb 2nd half.

    Kanu fantastic again
    Great finish from Anderson

    Great night. Buzzing

    Brilliant win.

I do like the way we are hassling and pushing for every ball - trying to press. We've had years of just not getting stuck in, and being slow/uninventive/disinterested. We seem to have agression/fire all of a sudden. Has to be down to the manager.Just good to see us actually wanting the ball and trying to go forwards - even when winning we didn't sit back, piss about and invite pressure as we have done in literally hundreds of games.

Thought Coventry was absolutely immense - Kanu and Small fantastic too.

If we keep playing like this then we'll stay up.

Midfield turned it around in second half, Coventry was quality, Anderson is immense!

4 fit strikers makes a big difference too
I read that as 4 foot strikers  !!

I thought that's harsh on Alfie.

Bloody unreal. Immense to a man.

I've given him a few pelters in the past but Anderson is going to be some player. A defenders dream having him in front of you I would think. The fellas got so much stamina but it looks effortless.

Can't underestimate the confidence NJ has given Karoy. He was brilliant again, Kanu has been immense. Just need to stop conceding the stupid goals from set pieces.

3 games against top 3...ended up with 5 points when let's be honest, we thought we would end up with nothing. Should have beat Portsmouth but the improvement is so clear. Nathan Jones has turned these lads who couldn't even buy a win into a proper TEAM who fight for each other.

Kanu, Coventry and Mac were fantastic but Andersom was immense I thought but in fairness there wasn't a bad performance.

    Something to really build on.

    Come on boys!
  • You beauty Nathan Jones - credit to everyone. Three unbeaten and five points from that run is very impressive. Crack on and win some more now and put this year behind us.

Really didn't expect to see a result at Pride Park, its here and at Bolton that I felt we stood zero chance, as we have terrible records at both Grounds.

Perhaps we had a slight bit of luck on our side, Bolton had injuries, and Derby were missing Collins tonight, so their head tennis was ineffective without their big man up top.

Again though, our result wasn't just down to a handful of players missing - Thats disrespectful to our performance, Derby started the game like a steam train, we weathered the storm, and went in @ HT unlucky to be behind, no one deserved to lead after that First Half.

Second Half, and Derby for some reason decided to repeat their performance from the Valley, by attempting to protect the sole goal lead, I felt that day too, that we didnt deserve to lose

The future is the likes of Kanu and Anderson

Those two are genuinely the first names on the team sheet at the moment - Maybe the likes of Dobson and May were rested, solely because of their looming suspensions, but if they're not, its credit to Daniel and Karoy to just fly through the miles of running they're doing

Like I said after Saturday... The clean sheet, and unbeaten run of three games, was bound to give this side a bit of confidence - They should feast off this result tonight, and use it for the rest of the season

On to Northampton!! - Midtable obscurity beckons
  • Anderson and Kanu are a proper pair of players.

    Coventry got better and better.

MOM Gillesphey for me. Outstanding at the back.

A few weeks ago we were an absolute shambles. Embarrassing.

3 games against 1st, 2nd and 3rd and he were are with 5 points. What a turnaround. The only way is up now 🙏
