Just shows you what a ‘good’ manager can do.

What a effin result. Unbelievable. I had forgotten what it was like to win a game, a bit in shock tbh!
The amount of confidence that this result will give us is massive.
If only we had Jones at the beginning of the season things could have looked so much different.
Lump on us to go up next year with this manager in charge.
    Nathan Jone's red army!!!

I said many times on here since Xmas that we wouldn’t win till March, and I am so happy I was wrong.
An incredible team performance, great show from Small, Gillespihey and Coventry.

Maybe we have the right guy in charge at last.

  • As I said on match thread - when our 2nd went in (and what a strike) - I went mental - ran up and down my hallway like a maniac - my 2 dogs retreated upstairs in fright - that is how a proper CAFC team plays - fight, application, shape, desire etc etc

BUT most of all WE play football (well we try - it is Div 3) - Derby, hmmmm

To everyone saying we were playing too many young kids all season (me included) they have been brilliant last 4 games Kanu and Anderson specifically, so much hunger and desire it really makes you proud :)

Absolutely loved that second half, and Karoy’s goal was my ‘moment of the season’ so far!
Kanu again excellent. But it was a team effort, and they were all great tonight.

    Can I just say I'm.sorry.

    Sorry for the negativity

    Sorry for doubting Nathan Jones

    Sorry for doubting the players.

Honestly......I will try to temper my negativity from now on & understand I do piss people off.

Sorry. And I will just bask in the 3 points tonight.

How many times will this get quoted?

Gonna hold my hands up. I thought Anderson was way off on his earlier appearances this season, and felt he needed a loan to a lower league team. But look at that tonight away at Derby, and he looked absolutely at home against a team rho may well be in the championship next season.
I think Nathan has got a bit to do eith that - the transformation in the squad is phenomenal. And Anderson is a big part of that.
    Sorry for doubting you Karoy.

What a difference Jones makes by prioritising energy, intensity and aggression before possession and playing from the back. Every team needs that whatever style and formation they play.

As Curbs is pointing out it’s impressive how Jones is also rotating players so not even May and Dobson are guaranteed to start and yet it doesn’t stop us getting results.

Relief and satisfaction in equal measure.
Before Nathan we weren't the sum of our party.
Now we look like we finally are.

If only we had started the season like this.

Honestly forgot what winning felt like. What a great display 2nd half was superb, man for man they battled and gave their all. If that is the level Coventry can get to every week, he will be a superb addition long term. Karoy and Daniel were absolutely fantastic and I literally love the bones off the pair of them just for the desire and passion they show. Absolutely delighted

    Phew!

Great haul from 3 tough games. Coventry superb 2nd half and Anderson has improved so much since NJ arrived. Kanu works his socks off and caused them problems all night. Feels like a big change tonight.

Coventry was excellent 2nd half, Anderson immense, Kanu worked so hard, Gillesphey grew into the match, Isted breeds confidence, NJ is one hell of a manager....icing on the cake? Golfies fucking happy!!!

The thing that strikes me is that Jones has got us prepared for every game individually and he’s not been afraid to drop players to suit it. And yet every player that has been dropped has come back in and done 100%. Under Appleton he threw shit at the wall to see what stuck. Absolutely no doubt we have the best manager/coach in the league and when we stay up, roll on next season.
    Appleton was a miserable CNUT.

Lets hope the dark days are over

I honestly did think we'd get 4 points from our run against Pompey and Derby, I think I said it on the Bolton match thread. Pompey and Derby are just two teams we seem to do miraculously well against recently. Going into the pressure games against the teams around us with 5 points against the top 3 and them all dropping points today should create so much confidence in this team and doubt in our rivals. Just as well because they're real pressure games where a loss is far more damaging than against the top teams. I'm glad we've got a safe midtable team next, gives us a chance to go again, build even more confidence and hopefully create even more of a gap.
