I think Etete is part of the plan B. 6'6 striker is always difficult to deal with even if said striker doesn't score himself it certainly can change the approach in a game .
An asset defensively too. The likes of Stockley, L Taylor and Magennis were all very useful in defending set pieces.
Would Mubama be better than Mbick? Rather see Ahadme who has a scoring record in this league. If Ipswich buy established strikers even Al-Hamadi may be available on loan, having been mainly a sub in Championship.
Another Scot (Aussie) in the Bair mould is Tete Yengi, only 23, plays for Livingstone, brother of Pompey striker but taller. Played largely as a winger but must be filling out.

Al-Hamadi would not be coming to us on loan sadly 😂
Would be surprised with Mubama. If he stays at West Ham, I'd expect them to look for a Championship loan and again if he leaves I don't think he'd drop down to League One.
I'd like to see us sign someone who can take a long throw. It can be a potent weapon and we've let in a number of goals from them; last season in particular our defenders seemed to panic when a good long throw went in.
It's years since we've had someone with this ability, yet most other League One clubs seem to have a long throw specialist.
I think someone, somewhere mentioned that Josh Edwards has a monster throw, but I might have been imagining it?

Could “Mubama the Hammer” be on our radar as a loan option?
I wouldn’t mind us looking at George Earthy Attacking midfielder with tons of promise, but probably not big enough or physically enough for a Nathan Jones side. Serious player though

Just heard Martial at United has been released, might be out of our budget though, hasn’t played since January due to injury, will keep our physios busy.
Etete was a target last summer but Cardiff didn't sign a striker themselves so we ended up with Tedic. Would make a lot of sense as a front man who's played with May and would put less pressure on Leaburn being immediately fit.
So, it's an Andy Scott signing.....or were we signing him knowing that we were going to sack Holden, employ Appleton, sack him 4 months later & then sign Nathan Jones as manager. 🤔.
Or it's what every club does and the scouting network have identified a player they think will improve us and put him forward to the manger and coaching staff ....
The obsession with Scott as the new evil overlord is already tiring, scouts scout players, the coaching team review. Or do you want Jones to spend all his time watching random games looking for "his" players rather than drills at the training ground?
Scott did hire Appleton and recruited some pretty average players. Right now his stock is low. Hearing that Etete is a Scott target and NJ ‘likes the idea of him’ doesn’t fill me with a great amount of confidence. Seems to follow a Scott pattern of recruiting from the Championship and thinking they’ll smash League 1. If Scott signs some incredible players over the summer then all is forgiven but right now I’ve not forgotten the lows of last season.
@Swisdom does your football knowledge extend to mubanba? What's he like
I'd be very surprised if we got him. Delighted but VERY surprised. He was highly thought of at the beginning of the season hence he played in the premier league last season.
He wouldn't be free because West Ham offered him a contract and he rejected it - but the fact they offered means they would be entitled to a tribunal fee (maybe up to £1m)
Some fans are annoyed he priced himself out of a contract but others don't really know if he's going to cut it with them anyway.
But from what I've seen of him he's not a bad player but i'd be surprised if we went for him AND Etete.
Passes the CL height test at 6' and not bad with his noggin too
It’s interesting that Middlesbrough are open to offers for Dijksteel who’s on his final year. Talking to a Boro supporter he’s been popular there, just always been someone better in that position. He probably will go to another championship club, but would be a decent transfer.

Now that would be a very interesting one. Probably someone that would come late in the window once West Ham sorted out strikers of their own.
Where's Edwards and Berry...🙄

“May is going. Spoke with him the weekend. Very good chance will be Huddersfield. Won't stay where he is not wanted.”
Not the Huddersfield bit.
