Will be interesting to see what happens with Miles's contract situation, he's got a year to run so could conceivably speak to sides in Europe in January if he stays fit and hits form. Don't think anyone will come in for him in the summer because of his injury record.
I thought it was confirmed that we do still have a sell on. The contract renewal won’t make a difference to that, the only thing would be if we sold the clause but Cawley dismissed that a while back.

Selling our best players every season has left us in our worst league position for 98 years. We have lost CBT and Dobson already from the squad that started last season. What would an overinflated price be for May? £350k? £500K? He is 30+ and only ever played L1. Likely buyer, another L1 club/competitor. He is our best striker. If we want to move a striker on, move on Aneke. Kanu scored 6 league goals last season (I think, without checking), May got 23. Kanu has promise that's all. We are already talking about a huge rebuild, say 10 players coming in. I assume a significant number going out. Why make that even more of a challenge by selling one of your best? That's why I don't believe the rumours. May is worth far more to us than anyone would pay so it is just trouble making rumours by some oddball imo.

As a bare minimum we'd get a Solidarity Payment. If he went overseas we'd get something because of the work we did between his 12th and 23rd birthdays while with us - so we'd get a payment for the years he was 12 up until he left at 18
If he went for £50m we'd get around £1.25m but if it were £20m we'd get around £500k

If the owners aren't hard up then Aneke is completely fine to keep as the luxury option. It does seem as though the new doctor from Brighton has reduced the amount of injuries so far. Maybe too small a sample to size to tell for sure though.
Selling May would be ridiculous. Cheltenham sold him to us for a pittance and got relegated because of it. Selling May for however much we got for him, especially to a potential rival would cost us far more (both in terms of signing a replacement, goals he would score, and goals helping someone else) than we would get for him.

But that's what makes him a more saleable asset, we will never see his ceiling for us anyway, and his injury record means he's hard to rely on for fitness this coming season. We need players that aren't so fragile.

It may be something we're not aware of. I love Alfie, one of only two players in the last 3-4 years that I have truly felt is entirely beneficial to have in the match day squad.
