Lols, why did that need a special announcement it was coming, hilarious

It was Cawley in the SLP that announced it
Hats off to the man for waking up and just knowing it was coming

Now we are 1000% clear on where Richard Murray sits. Everything good he has ever done for our club has been wiped out with this latest piece of nonsense.

Whoever inside the club thought this was a good idea is a clown. No mention of who the Manager will be or the protests. As for taking credit for the Community Scheme when they appear to have no direct impact on it is shameful.

I will be at Colchester on Saturday when the protests will continue. Getting more media attention is the only thing as supporters we can do, as anything the club does to deal with the protests shows how woefully out of touch with the fan base they truly are.

RM:- "....However, I think it’s fair to say – and he admits this – that he has underestimated the challenges of the Championship....”

That's brave of you Roland. Utter pish.

I can't add more to all that has been written. To be honest it has left me a little shellshocked. It isn't a statement. It does not mention anything of any note and has merely added to the feeling amongst customers of being shat on from a great height. What makes this worse is that it is now being done by 'one of our own.' For Murray to expect us to swallow his empty words is contemptuous beyond belief and leads me to believe the fight we have is now more urgent and serious. Unfortunately it has to include him as one of our enemies now and he should not be spared any of the action we decide to take.

Should get some of these printed and take them to Colchester.

  • Only just read it and I am equally dumbfounded. It's like a cross between a Bond film with Blofeld as the villain and The Muppet Movie, only it is no laughing matter and it is nothing short of contemptible and way beyond patronising. Not had chance to read all of the thread so no doubt all I feel from this pitiful attempt at a placatory gesture has already been said, but this just reinforces how deluded the current ownership are about their "customers." Any remaining respect Murray deserves is now eroded in my humble. Just unreal.
  • On the one hand You could argue that by not attending you are not supporting Charlton properly but au contraire I say to you that by Boycotting you are not supporting Rolands evil plan. So what if you have a ST. A one match boycott will be worth it to show them we cannot be shat upon anymore. I say put the ball in their court and demand Meire be sacked or we Boycott.

Seriously, how much would it cost to get that stuck up on a billboard at Charlton Station for a couple of weeks?

Murray thinks, even after all this, that what we want is a huge budget and a lung-bursting sprint for the Premier League. When all we want is a team and a manager.

Indeed it is ...but they are not listening.

And there you have it, when someone like Rockspectacle says things like this it holds a lot weight with me, proper Charlton is RS and known to muzza yet has now lost any remaining respect

You are a complete fool Richard for not seeing the end of your Charlton legacy crumble like a sodden river bank and into the current you go down the swanny not a paddle In sight or a life buoy being thrown towards you

Cowardley, two faced, and now just a lonely figure of the man you used to be

This statement has left me angrier than anything else they have done.
The fact that 3rd division clown is likely to be out manager for a long time is the most deflating news in my history as a fan.
The fact that the comments on the evening standard piece are praising Murray and co. makes the whole situation even worse.
  • I would gladly chip in £50 to get that on the streets where Meire, Murray and the cretin Fraye could see it.

Richard Murray wants his money back. He is a nice bloke and wants to stay where he is at wherever that is in his head but it is not where we are. There has to be an address by him to what is really offending me which is the idea of the 'big experiment' where our raison d'etre is as a nursery for the premiership to stay in the black. I would rather be at an AFC Charlton where things were honest and genuine or am I being too romantic.

The Protest Fund is there just waiting for someone to make a bid. Someone needs to take the lead with the idea, get it planned and then come for the funding.

They are still hoping a turn around in results will piss on the protest parade, imo a great run of results will appease at least half of those who stood outside the west stand against forest (Can i add it wouldnt me). Personally do not think Katrien, Roly or Murray are going anyway too soon unless someone comes in with an amazing offer for the club.
Hopefully the protests will slowly erode the Belgians thinking on how our club should be run although i will not hold my breath COYR! 100% support for the team.

Has nobody claimed anything yet ?
  • I suppose I might have been more convinced if there didn't have to have been protests outside the ground and a campaign of protest gaining support in the wider world of football to achieve 3 halfway decent loan signings.

I've been away from home all day and desperate to read the 'statement' (which is actually a Q&A session)
I cannot possibly trawl through all the posts. So PWR..................

A meaningless collection of platitudes from a man who I once considered the saviour of Charlton. A man who is now a nobody at Charlton, wheeled out to try and bring an end to the protests. A man who has failed.
This 'statement' changes nothing. Until the Belgians are removed we remain on a path doomed to failure.

    Keep the protests going.................................................................

Oh! and by the way Richard. We have never failed to support the team. It's the numpties in the board room, we don't support.

This is RD's third season with us. How can anyone "underestimate" the championship for 3 seasons? Absolute drivel.
