Gossip say Khystian Beliek to move to a Championship club. I know we will not pay money. But if Roland had any sense he would buy. With a year or so his value will treble at least.
I think we've all learnt by now that Roland does not work by any logic, how he's managed to make a fortune i've no idea
He made his fortune in one, very specific, industry. I’m not sure how transferable the skills from that industry are to general business and I’m not sure if any of his ventures elsewhere have been a massive success.
  • We have a very weak midfield - haven't replaced Aribo, Cullen and Bielik. If JFC is our main threat then we're f***ed.

I imagine Harriott will sign this week.
Surely you realise we’ve got to be patient with JFC, he’s got bags of ability.
Not a big fan of JFC - happy to be proved wrong.

Don't see Aneke as a replacement for Aribo - Aneke seems to have been played as a forward throughout his career.

Given todays transfer prices, a top young prospect who did well at the under 21 Euro's has to cost at least 10m. Plus his wages are at least 3 times what we're offering.
Bielik is a good prospect but you have to remember he hasn’t played in The Championship let alone The PL. I think he’s now out of our price range but I don’t see any club paying £10 million for him.

Fair enough, I thought he was excellent 17/18, a year out for any injury will take time, I think he’s worth persevering with.

Beilik has, in fact, played 8 games for Birmingham City in the Championship, Shooters.

And by all accounts did well. But, of course, only 8 games - but he was only 18 or 19 at the time.
The next season he suffered serious injury, which is probably why he was loaned to Charlton last season.

I feel we're persevering with him because he's cheap and we don't have many options. He's seemed pretty average when I've seen him play.

I desperately hope he proves me wrong this season and stays injury free.

JFC is one of those players that puts a big shift in but it goes unnoticed a lot of the time because his distribution is quicker and sharper. It’s a massive boost having him back.

JFC needs to play games to get back that match sharpness.

He'll make good improvement as the season progresses.

I need to watch his game more carefully as I'n not always getting his contribution. He looked pretty fit on Saturday.

He tired towards the end as can be expected, but I thought his passing and movement were a bit disjointed, but then the whole team were.

JFC is a quality player, he will come on for the game time. Also, it's nice to have a player putting pen to paper for another year.
Everyone would be spitting feathers if he fucked off on a free.

He was playing against premiership midfielders having only played what 45mins of league one competetive football in over a year, in a side with two midfielders he hasn't played with, cut him some slack for christ sake.

JFC will be fine at this level - short run of games to get his match sharpness up and he will be one of the first name son the team sheet of that I have no doubt. I would rather worry about who is going to play in midfield with him!

Judging by his performance on Saturday, I can see why Ben Amos didn’t get a game

JFC is a decent League 1 player but I have my doubts as to whether he will cut it in the Championship. I very much hope to be proved wrong. He needs time to get back up to speed and, if we were a properly run and resourced club, we might be looking to loan him out for a month or two to get some games under his belt. That is obviously not an option with a skeletal squad.

JFC didn’t struggle to get into Brighton’s team in 13/14 and 14/15 season in the championship... just saying.

We are in a race with Portsmouth for Maquis apparently. Surely Portsmouth will win that one easily with our pathetic budget. It would have to be Marquis himself deciding he really wants to play for Charlton or something to change that.

Which could also be said to Large's comment.

If he can regain his fitness and sharpness, he'll be an asset.

Worryingly Pratley looks the best man to play alongside him for now, his experience showed on Saturday...

Portsmouth havent exactly set the world alight with their signings this summer though - i.e. they dont seem to be overly splashing the cash

    Thanks for the pm AFKA.
Yes I totally agree with you that Henry should never be given another promote.
ANOTHER promote?! You mean he’s actually had one in the past?!

sorry but that doesn't wash with me. Bowyer himself has said that RD will only sanction fees for players with sell-on potential, like Bonne, and Marquis doesn't fall into that category. Add in the fact they want in excess of 1m and you can forgot it.

And surely midfield is our priority. Why would we spunk £1m away and not address a glaring issue first.

Marquis used to try it with my ex bird, so on that basis it's a no from me haha
