  • How did Hemed play when he came on?
Had some decent touches, brought others into the attack (something we'd been missing up until then)

Didnt really get an opportunity to shoot at goal
  • At least we only lost by one goal, which could be crucial if goal difference determines our fate at the end of the season.

I know - clutching at straws.
  • Surprised Bowyer is not snapping up the new contract given this run
    To be fair
After our recent run hes a lucky boy to have a new deal in place I would sign very quickly before its 'withdrawn'

Still 54 more points to play for.
Definitely, on current form we’ll get 10 of them.
Which means we WILL be relegated

Are we in massive trouble yet ?
Yes and we've been in trouble since Taylor got injured.

I've been saying for months that fans keep saying there's no team much better than us, but conversely there are no teams much worse.

All I've been saying these last 2 weeks is that you can't expect the new owners to wave a magic wand and get a number of really good players signed up immediately.

If it that was simple everyone would have done it, whereas no one has.
Completely different team when Taylor is on the pitch, same with Cullen.

We were poor today, we do really need some quality signings, but I hope we also have Taylor and Cullen on the pitch together soon. It would make a big difference.

At this moment in time, we are very much in trouble. How much trouble exactly, we will know at the end of the month.

Depends if the others will get at least 15 with better goal difference.

He looked sharp, won a few in the air, and a nice flick put someone though ... Davison?

All unfolding for me....We find out ESI do not own the Valley and Sparrow's lane. They can't get any transfers over the line and LB has not signed a contract. Conor gone and Taylor likely to follow. We've got our Charlton back alright !

    edited January 2020
There are 4 games in January BEFORE the deadline closes, and so far we have 1 point out of 9. These games aren't "free hits" as they are ones we need to get something out of, and you can't turn form on and off.
But there are supporters who think they are and almost lecture us on the point. I would say, the January window may be hard but it isn't impossible and maybe you do have to spend a bit more than you should as you are dealing with a crisis. If you haven't got the money, well why buy the club without buying everything so you could positively effect the January window? At the most generous, you are failing.

I don’t think the situation tonight meets the strict criteria clearly laid out for “massive trouble”.

Are we in massive trouble yet ?
Certainly in trouble, not sure it's massive.

    Yet.

    Just asking. Just asking

Showed we need a top striker and box to box midfielder.

Doughty and green looked good and williams got game time which is a benefit.

Massive week coming up for ESI.
As much as they want to keep to their own ‘financial strategy’ whatever that is ... we need players, and now, to give time to bed in, not on 31st jan giving no time for barnsley prep.

Lets see what their made of!

Heads went down today and i can imagine no1 including bows is looking forward to Wednesday.

Get Fulham game out of the way, then 10 days to the next game ... those 10 days may well decide our season.

Personally, I still believe we are staying up.

Still struggling to understand why pay £60m and not remotely look like we are buying anybody good enough to get us out of trouble. Relegation is a real prospect and we need quality and screw the wage structure because league one is not where we want to end up!
  • Another depressing weekend. I hope the sun will shine next week and bring some joy to our lives with a few good signings. No idea where we are with Bowyers new contract.

I think we are good enough to stay up with no additions if injuries start going in right direction but what we are doing and have been doing this window is giving ourselves a chance to go down!

Watched on a stream. Another very disappointing performance and, whilst Preston eased off their level of intensity in the last 20 minutes, they were a cut above and deserving winners.

We looked shaky at the back and the second goal was nothing short of diabolical, with Bauer heading in without anything resembling a challenge. We had next to no composure on the ball and our decision making and execution in the final third was (the goal apart) pretty hopeless. I lost count of the times we squandered crossing opportunities, with Mathews and others failing to beat the first man. Preston coped fairly easily with our long balls and it was always going to be difficult for young Davison up against seasoned defenders like Davies and Bauer.

The reality is that today's side is by some distance inferior last season's and whilst the return of Josh Cullen and Lyle Taylor will significantly improve matters, we are in dire need of reinforcements. We also need to stop shipping two goals a game, failing which, we are going to find ourselves back in League 1.

The only real positive was another fine performance from Alfie Doughty, who roasted their right back on a regular basis. I don't know what his contractual position is but, once the dust settles on the January window, we need to ensure that he is tied down.

Curious as to what they paid and what their strategy is? No signs of anything so far apart from a few tweets.

At least Barnsley and Wigan lost. Hopefully Luton will too.

Think we need 21 points from our last 18 games.

With players coming back (yes, I know we keep saying it), and signings will happen before the window, I think we have enough within the squad to get those 21 points in order to stay up. A draw against Fulham and a win against Barnsley, our next two games, would mean 17 needed from 16 games. I believe we will do it.

Depressing tho cos i look at alfie And those sort of players and think... he will be snapped up soon
  • By the time His Excellency comes to a game there is a risk we will be bottom three with no ownership of ground or training ground.  He will be unlikely to get much welcome and may wish his trip was earlier.

Boys against men again, they are giving their all and not to blame but my goodness it is a long, hard season this one.

But they have not paid anywhere near that surely? They have not bought any of the assets of value yet for reasons not really explained. At the moment we are hearing all piss and wind from the new owners need to prove that they are genuine in the transfer market this week or else fans will wonder what is going on.

Here's why we shouldn't be saying "We'll be fine when we get our players back."

I question bows choices today tbf.
Green come off? Unless injured or tired he looked the danger for us. Not take Dempsey off? Baffling for me
