once confirmed I’ll start a separate thank you thread for those wishing to comment along those lines7 -
So its saying hes gone but also interviews with Rich Cawley in regards to team selections etc from today?
Personally think Bowyers time had run its course. I would let Jason Euell have a crack until the end of the season.0 -
Feels like a girlfriend you've been deciding how to dump getting in and dumping you first.
The main feeling is relief that a) it's done and b) you didn't have to do it.24 -

Not because I think he'd be a bad appointment, as I reckon he'd get you back on track, but the clusterfuck of emotional rage would a great read2 -

Powell was more loyal to the club than Bowyer, played more times for us than Bowyer and of course was more successful managing us than Bowyer too.

I don't want Powell back, don't want to see people eventually turn on him the way they have with Bowyer. The guy left us as a club legend, let's leave it there.23

I was ambivalent but that doesn't sit well with me,
Moving on is probably best for everyone at this point, it will give the whole fanbase a chance to reset themselves - some are too far gone.
Just have realistic expectations please. We’re not going to be able to attract Wilder or Howe so let’s put those names to bed.
Makes it seem like he was waiting around for a payout anyway.
In the previous year he had zero expectations so actually had one of the easiest jobs in league football. We were expected to lose week after week.5 - Sponsored links:

but nowdays with huge pressure on instant success and fanbases full of toxic fans like ours that cant wait to be negative no manager is ever given time
all the best to the man and thanks for memorys that will last forever
everything he put up with over the last few years and still brought success then the esi mess and nearly getting dragged under by the scum of elliott farnell and co
he even made sure he was paid last / late before all club employees and stood with us when he could and maybe should have said no thats it iv had enough
im sure hes had feedback or got wind from staff close to him / sandgaard or players about the online toxic talk of fans and feels a fresh start at a club hes loved and will be appreciated is very appealing right now
hes tried his best and done more than most would have and i appreciate it and wish him all the best and success in the future3 -
Good timing for Charlton. Can’t see him bring a success anywhere else to be fair.1

Jason Euell to the end of the season. Nothing to lose, you’re delusional if you think we’re good enough to get promoted.5

Time for the return of Guy Luzon?1

Well there you go.0

I did think that the post match interview at the weekend that Bowyer came across a bit disinterested, like he'd given up on this squad.1

It is interesting that the same people who were most fervently anti-Bowyer are also the ones who think Howe or Wilder would come here.0

Let Jason Euell take it on for the rest of the season with a view to a full time post if he smashes it.2

Throughout the past year I don’t think that I have had once heard JJ speak up and voice a comment about the problems.
If it was Curbs as a temporary manager I would prefer Steve Brown to be number 2.
Listening to him when he commentates he speaks so much sense.18 -
I'll never understand the mentality of actively wishing that the new manager is someone without a Charlton connection. Just saying "we need a fresh start" doesn't really cut it as a reason either.
The three most successful managers we've had in the past 25 years have been Curbs, Powell and Bowyer in the sense that they all had promotion winning seasons.
If anything, we're lucky as a club to have a number of people in the game with some management experience who'd love to manage us.
Getting in someone completely unconnected hasn't particularly worked for us before has it? Karl Robinson, Russell Slade etc.
I'm not saying that they absolutely must be a Charlton man, but I just don't understand the notion that they should be rejected for being one of our own. It's a weird mentality.26 -
