Spot on. Amos plodding around for a goal kick on the 89th. That ball from Pratley behind and to the wrong side of Shinnie was laughable and I thought we were lucky to get a point in the end.Exiled_Addick said:Got to love that new manager bounce. All 38 minutes of it.
Players just don’t care/want it enough. Strolling around towards the end there, second to way too many second balls in the second half.
Absolutely no way they would win the playoffs if by some miracle they get in.
https://youtu.be/sd-n2G_U4QkSo many players just can’t cut it. Another game conceding 2 goals. No disrespect to Maatsen because he’s young, but he looks poor. He can’t defend. He’s got time to learn, but he needs to learn quick if he’s got any future above this sort of level.Just get the season over with. That second half sucked the life out of me and crushed any optimism I had following Adkins appointment.2 -
Can we just end the season now?4

Adkins said it himself, I've said it a few times this season: Goals win you games, defences win you promotionCAFCTrev said:Conceded 50 so far this season, more than anyone else in the top 11 of the division.
We're doing a Peterborough, we're not going up on those stats0 -
All I can say is he must have been the only Welsh right back for a number of years in order to get as many caps as he has. I expected a kind of fitter Chris Solly - maybe not great going forward but really well sorted defensively. Bloke’s positioning is shit, he gets done one on one, slow, looks uncomfortable on the ball. He’s been a crap signing.cazo said:Gunter does my head in18 -
I like to keep an eye on the formation we are playing. And I can honestly say after the first 4 minutes (when we started off 4-4-2) I haven't got a clue what formation we were playing. In fact, we seemed to be playing a different formation every few minutes.
And as Curbs said, Morgan ended up playing all over the place.
Geez, I hope Nigel gets a grip of that quickly.

You're right no bottle whatsoever. Silly mistakes. No urgency from them on at 2-2. We needed to win this game. No character in this squad.ElliotCAFC said:Stupidest squad of footballers I’ve ever seen. Even if by some miracle we make the play-offs, this team hasn’t got the bottle to win it.Really looking forward to starting again in the Summer with a massive rebuild. Apart from Adam Matthews who hasnt been consistent in his career I cant think of many other Welsh players in that positionExiled_Addick said:

It’s becoming a common theme. It’s happens mostly every game. If the players aren’t good enough to utilise him then surely we should be bringing someone else on. Schwartz has zero blame, but it is like playing with ten men.mendonca said:To those moaning about Schwartz, we hardly touched the ball ourselves for the final 20 mins. We lost our shape and possession.1 -
He came on in the 2nd minute. It was hardly a Williams situation now was it.stoneroses19 said:Was DJ injured? Bowyer would have been slaughtered for subbing a sub today.29 -
Two points down the drain. With the tough fixtures coming up, we just can't afford that if we are to makes the playoffs.0

Awful. Can’t wait for this season to finish. Can’t think of a single game this team has played well for 90 mins.No idea what our best team is, and we tried about 10 different set ups in one game.So frustrating25

It’s not Adkins squad! Some of these ‘experienced’ players are not players you can rely on...Pearce, Pratley, Amos, Gunter....cabbles said:

The reality is that as fans we need to show a bit more patience , mistakes will happen , they have cost us dearly.
Id be more worried about the fact when they equalised why we lost shape , and went with 3 up top , saying that if we score at the end with shot that rattled the woodwork we would have soon forgotten about it.
Fine margins in football Im affraid.0 -
Was that worse than the goal at Burton away? I never caught up with that one. Such a frustrating way to lose points, as they're saying now Wimbledon are fighting to stay up & we gift wrap a point.0

The phrase "You can't polish a turd" springs to mind. (My mind anyway)5

still in 6th but by the next time we play i imagine it will look quite different with other teams playing their games in hand1

This. Amos has cost us many goals this season, just not good enough.cafc_se7 said:
As I said in the match thread at the end, I would seriously get rid of him! I have been paying close attention to his communication and he screams the same instruction every single week....it’s either “up, up” or “back it up, back it up”, the bloke is utterly clueless!Addick_8 said:I’d love to know when goes through Ben Amos head to take 20 seconds on goal kicks when we have about 40 seconds left in the game. It’s not the first time he’s done it. It’s like we are winning.. Jesus christ! He sees play in front of him so whether he is under instruction or not...you don’t play that ball, like somebody else said, that isn’t the first time he has done it!Lastly, as mentioned above, the time he took for his last few goal kicks was unbelievable! Give Maynard Brewer a go, get rid of him!9 -
I didn’t say it was. Asked a simple question if anyone noticed he was injured? Coming on in 2nd minute should still mean he’s capable of finishing the game.FishCostaFortune said:

JFC the only one who comes away massively in credit.10

What a strange game, we were, I thought, in charge in the 1st half, and deserved to be ahead. That said, apart from the first 4 minutes of the 2nd half, I thought we were crap, utter crap! Why do we insist on playing stupid balls from the back against a team that had been pushing high all game. Amos has done this too many times and although the bad pass back was from Akin, I just have to ask why the fuck do we do it in the first place. 2 points lost, in fact two points given away free of fucking charge!
Anyway rant over, NA now has two weeks to get the team playing the way he wants and hopefully we will have Innis back. Safe weekend everyone.2 -

Just not good enough from Charlton and, in the end, a fair result after a much better second half from Wimbledon.
We were deservedly ahead at half time, with a couple of assists from Millar, who blew hot and cold throughout. Really good finishes from Stockley and DJ put us in the driving seat, although I thought that we looked a little shaky defensively throughout. I don’t think the change of shape shortly before half time helped us and we lost attacking momentum. Why change things when the wingers were dominating the opposition’s full backs ?
We started the second half ok but Wimbledon played some pretty good stuff early in the second half. The turning point was the atrocious error from Famewo, who looked as if he was auditioning for a role at Arsenal. Probably the worst goal I’ve ever seen Charlton concede. Absolutely inexcusable.
After that, no wonder Wimbledon picked up their game and felt it was going to be their day. Gifts don’t come more neatly gift wrapped than that.
From our perspective, it was a thoroughly disjointed and poor second half by Charlton, not helped by the multiple changes of formation.
We were fortunate to hold out in the second half after the calamitous equaliser and we ended up looking a bit of a shambles. Very, very disappointing.

If we stay in this dreadful league I honestly would make Piggot one of our main targets next season. I would really like to know who was the main influence or opinion on "Where's Ronnie"? thus far his most impressive input to the Charlton Family is the original material for the "Up The Adkins" meme.1
-
First half - great attacking football outweighed our defensive frailties, they were constantly on the back foot.
Second half - 3 or 4 formations, no solid positions, our attack blunted and a stupid mistake gifted them a point.
Frustrating. Like 2 different sides.4 -
Just write this season off, play people that want to play for us irrespective of age. Total mess in the second half, bit of a job on Nigel's hands, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work that one out6
-
Looked good with the two wingers on. not good enough for the entire second half. Can only think Millar and DJ came off for fitness reasons.
No idea why we switched to a diamond when that hasn’t worked all season. 4-4-2 or 4-5-1/4-3-3 is the way to go with this squad.
Said recently this looks more and more like a mid table side. Today hasn’t changed that. If everything went our way we could finish in the playoffs but the most likely outcome looks about 9th or 10th.
As before looking forward to the summer rebuild more than the next game. At least Adkins now has another 9 games in to assess the squad and start putting together that plan.
Peter Varney said the other day they had most of the 11/12 squad in place by April and we’re waiting for the transfer window to open. Such a similar situation compared to now. A lot of big decisions and planning to get right to have another season like 11/12 but that has to be the aim.11 -
The Stockley curse strikes again, have we won when he's scored?0
-
Yeah, that switch in formation was odd and curbs pointed it out at the break too.LoOkOuT said:Millar on the left caused them problems. So we moved him over to the right where he wasn’t effective.1 -
These two weeks off have come at a good time. Gives Adkins time to assess the squad and try to instill into them his ideas. He will come to realise that most of them are not good enough and the squad needs a major overhaul. I don’t expect more than three to start the first game of next season.

All about performance and implementation of style for the rest of this season0
-
Manager, tactics, formation, motivation, all important but the players are the ones on the pitch and it's them making the mistakes.
Not making excuses for Bowyer as there clearly wasn't something right under him but it's not all been him.
Very frustrating but can't say it was an unfair result.
And up to the goal I thought Famewo was one of our better players.
But this one game tells us very little about the Adkins era IMHO27
