These free agents will be happy to take whatever contracts are offered, on reduced terms ...... just to stay in a job.

Ideally, we need the squad all in place as soon as practical, certainly by the end of the window.
But perhaps some budget will be kept in reserve for a free agent, if it enhances or strengthens the squad?

Even Chris Powell did that, signing Kermorgant well into September.

This indeed.  The ones moaning everyday must of been the sort of kids who demanded new toys a couple of weeks after Christmas.

I know this type of post is becoming common and people are getting annoyed by it but it's hard not to agree with it. It's so clear we have a good egg as an owner and are on an upwards trajectory, yet people are acting so bratty and aggressive over signings, if I was TS and saw these type of fans I would genuinely be losing my mind.

Imagine coming in, saving a massive part of people's lives, making all the right noise and improving the club in every aspect and some very peculiar people decide to harass you on twitter because you haven't got the squad ready. No club in the world has their full squad ready right now. I also can't fathom why we care what rival fans think, a bit embarrassed by what a pond life club in Millwall think of you and some stripey nigels you decide to negatively message him some more haha, very very bizarre individuals. Back our man ffs

Its never clean cut. Everyone has a different opinion.

I don’t think the attitudes of people on this thread are as clean cut as been pointed out - in fact I think it’s downright insulting tbh.

I can understand both sets of the opinions and emotions, i.e. those that feel we should be thankful we now have a decent owner who is wealthy but maybe not mega rich and therefore is hoping to grow the club in a more sustainable fashion and then those who are a bit more impatient and feel perhaps that he and NA should have been a bit more conservative in their comments at the end of last season if there wasn't an intent to throw more money at player recruitment. I think we just have to be realistic and appreciate that, for whatever reason, Charlton don't seem to be an attractive proposition for a mega-rich Middle Eastern or Asian investor. As a consequence I feel we have been pretty lucky in attracting TS and need to be patient. He is enthusiastic and if he is guilty of being too enthusiastic in setting his future targets, that is not a crime.
