Apparently you can see ‘Ham’ on the lanyard so we can definitely deduce that we’re groundsharing with West Ham because Thomas is selling the Valley to pay for the recording sessions for Addicks To Victory.Addick_8 said:Does anyone know what lanyard Gallen was wearing I've not seen anyone confirm yet...
However Sandgaard isn't able to sell the ground due to not owning it.2 -
I wonder what time that weird bloke (ackworth????) will put this on TwitterDanielPascoe said:

This is true, especially with us Lifers.EugenesAxe said:
When has a fact like that ever stopped some crazily huge conclusion jumping fllowed by putting it up as a valid supposition 🤪Dazzler21 said:

But we are in league 1. A league 1 that is massively under cooked, in terms of transfers.DOUCHER said:

He's kinda like a "nice" full back. Anyway, who are these 2 attacking players?!DOUCHER said:
agreed - matthews is decent but is not a major threat going forwards or a major obstacle defensivelyChunes said:I think we have genuinely forgotten what really good full-backs look like, to the point where competent ones get big love.
Matthews, Purrington and Gunter aren't Roberto Carlos, Cafu and Maldini. But they don't need to be.
When playing at full back none of those 3 were the reason we didn't get promoted last season. Solid but not spectacular. It doesn't matter where on the spectrum between Pep's Barcelona and the dog and duck second eleven we are as long as we are better than the other league 1 clubs.
I don't get the attitude of not caring about what other clubs are doing because it's as equally as important as what we do because funny enough that's who we are up against.6 -
Matthews is a more than adequate L1 full back (with Gunter), far more pressing areas within the squad30

I like Matthews , he had good season when we were last in the Championship. Injuries hampered him last season , as did Bowyer's team selections. Has shown glimpses of quality in the PSF's .Elthamaddick said:Matthews is a more than adequate L1 full back (with Gunter), far more pressing areas within the squad

Given that we got the Pompey keeper and then outbid them for Stockley i'm inclined to think that if we wanted Ogilvie we could've got him.Cafc43v3r said:
This. Ogilvie seems to have taken mythical status on here and the socials. I can see why people wanted us to sign him but if he was as good as some make out he wouldn't have signed for Pompey.Redhenry said:
Maybe we have another target, who said we were in for him...bolloxbolder said:Really disappointed to have missed out on Olgilvie. He was just what we needed long term as moving forward we saw two years ago that Purrington isn't good enough for the championship. We showed with Stockley that we can compete with Pompey re wages.
Since Wiggins we have lacked good overlapping pacy full backs. Becoming a really important position in the game these days, often the most athletic players fill these positions.28 -

Someone said he wanted to play centre half this season, perhaps he just didn't fit in with our plans.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

You are indeed correct, a league one full back is definitely not the same quality as a multi premier league winning full back who cost 50m and just got named in the team of the tournament for the Euro's.DOUCHER said:

What a left back Sir Chris was.4

That review covers nothing that the CL Rumours thread has not already!2

S Henderson coming back as backup goalkeeper allowing MB to go out on loan. Only a rumour9

A nothing preview really and pretty pointless when most clubs have still got loads of business to do.Cafc43v3r said:4 -
That would be interesting, where’s that come from?Dansk_Red said:S Henderson coming back as backup goalkeeper allowing MB to go out on loan. Only a rumour1 -
Stephen Henderson isn't going to sign for us to sit on the bench. He'll get a Prem No3 or Champ No2 gig on much better money.1

i don't disagree - more priority areas definitely and if it wasn't for our tea lady bei ng a bit too kyle walkeresque she probably wouldn't be out with the hamstring issues that have plagued her transition into left backCafc43v3r said:

He wouldn't be a clear number 2 though would he? If its true. Not a priority but I always feel like the number 1 plays better when you have a proper number 2. It would have been very brave to drop Amos for AMB.cafcfan1990 said:Stephen Henderson isn't going to sign for us to sit on the bench. He'll get a Prem No3 or Champ No2 gig on much better money.

How much did we miss out on play-offs by again?Garrymanilow said:
I love the idea that we're just sitting ducks for our first 5 games unless we some players now now now. We started last season with a backline made up of a centre mid, a 17 year old CB at RB and Oshilaja, with zero other defenders on the bench and more court appearances than senior left backs and we still only lost 2 of our first 5 games. The idea that we're throwing the first 5 games with a starting 11 including a new goalkeeper, two new midfielders, a new CB and a marquee signing up front is such bed wetting overkill I think you've gone through and wet a child's bed in AustraliaDamoNorthStand said:Yes the final squad won’t be in place until Sept.
But you do all realise there are 5 games before then? I would rather not throw 5 games - and whilst we could feasibly bring in the 5-6 top league one players we need on 31st August, I wouldn’t be that confident that we will then go on such a tear up of the division that we can give the rest of the league a 5 game head start.2 -

Why not? Actually no he wouldn't, a Number 2 needs to be fit enough to sit on the bench, Henderson would just be keeping the physios busy.Cafc43v3r said:
