An emphatic four goals and a clean sheet win for Johnnie Jackson’s Addicks! And, as it stands, we’re out of the relegation places. We’re certainly moving in the right direction and this result won’t do anything but add to our momentum.

To a man, the Addicks won their battles all over the pitch, harrying and harassing Doncaster when not in possession, and moving quickly forward when they had the ball. Lee and Gilbey were relentless in the centre of midfield and Washington ran his socks off harassing their back line. Leko looked threatening as usual, but unfortunately he went off early with an injury. He was replaced by DJ, who slotted in seamlessly, as the team kept its shape and purpose.

Lee got us off the mark with a well taken free kick that eluded everyone and found the back of the net.

Washington won and converted a penalty.

Stockley scored from a corner when the keeper parried into his path.

Purrington redeemed his attacking efforts with a header at the back post.

Pearce and Famewo were solid at the back.

Special mention to George Dobson who martialled the midfield and ran himself into the ground. He was everywhere breaking up play and turning defence into attack.

Dobbo, Pearce, MacGillivray, and Euelly rewarded the fans, who were superb throughout, with the tunnel jump.

Jacko’s Charlton is doing a world of good for my mental health!

Charlton 4 Doncaster 0

This squad is looking decent now. Lots of injuries in the last two games and still flying.

They were poor, but we played well. Dobson outstanding for me. Good also to see Jaiyesimi playing himself into a bit of form hopefully. Mention for Gunter too, who was good albeit not hugely tested.
  • We're actually experiencing a proper new manager bounce! What the f?!?

That's what you call a clean sheet victory!

Dobson quality again. Hard to see why he was frozen out before.
I mean a large portion of our fan base were saying that our recruitment has been bad and that Dobson and Clare were not of the required quality needed.

But you are right hard to see how he didn’t make it back into the squad when we continued to be poor and he performed well in the pizza trophy games.

What a difference to how we played under Adkins. Give the job to Jacko permanently now.

The most dominant league performance from a Charlton team for some time. Created chances and didn’t let them have a sniff. They were absolutely shite but we looked good. Dobson MOM, him and Gilbey are superb together and with JFC back soon, we now have a proper midfield. Stockley looked much more of a team player today as well. Exciting times are back.

Brilliant result. Two clean sheets in two as well. Good to see us beat a top of the table team with a solid performance and then batter a relegation candidate.
What are we saying about the signings now though? Are we still angry at Roddy and co for getting us the obviously useless Dobson, Stockley, Clare etc? Was it all just Adkins, is the turnaround all Jackson or what? Is the black box actually great with the right manager? Lots still to see with this season

Give him the job full time.
Let's do a 'Walsall' - sailing up the league.
Tuesday looks like being a cracker.
  • MOM Dobson. One more result on Tuesday and the job is Jacko's

If Dobson doesn't get MOM in the statbank then don't know whats going on!
What a performance by each and every player..Jacko sussed how donny play and we matched them man for man.

    Onwards and upwards 👍👍
  • Rotherham will be a good test on Tuesday night.

Sunderland was potentially first game bounce.. Doncaster were poor, but you cant ignore the fact that we played a part in that respect ourselves

It comes to something when we win 4-0 and I'm slightly disappointed.

What a turn around. Could have had a hatful today.

    Pleased for Jacko.

On to a tougher game Tuesday.

Jacko's record as Charlton manager this season:

    Pl2 W2 D0 L0 F5-A0 Pts6

    Clean sheets 2.

    Record: 100%

Not bad for a beginner.

    What's he saying @LoOkOuT?
Well that is a nice way to go into Saturday evening. Looking forward to seeing us on Quest tonight, but for now, off to the match thread, having avoided anything football related since kick-off.
  • Enjoyed that so much, I didn’t want the game to end. How many did they clear off the line? It could have been 7 or 8 today.

Such a contrast to what we’ve seen recently, it’s great to have the feel good factor back. I was worried looking at our fixtures before the Sunderland game, we could so easily be a lot further south had we gone into Sunderland, Doncaster and now upcoming Rotherham playing the way we were before. A good result for Rotherham today, but it just feels like we’ll actually put up a good fight for a change.

Thought we controlled it throughout and was particularly pleased for Dobson, really proving to be a great foundation for us. Loved Purrington, their defender should be embarrassed but what a header from Big Ben.

Gotta love Jacko, what a guy.

The only set back today was losing Leko.

Hope he's not out for long.

Great result, keep it going Jacko, Saturday evening will be spent finding the highlights and reading Lee Johnson's after match statement declaring that the three Rotherham goal scorers will be suspended for three games.

Only disappointment was we didn't score more. Having Dobson in midfield helped massively
