MK Dons visit The Valley in fine form. Charlton are on a bad run, with injuries having taken their toll (7). In the first 45, we competed well. MK Dons looked lethargic. Until they got in behind our backline and scored. Again, we concede too easily by through balls into our box.
In the second half, we failed to rebound. MK Dons scored again. We had chances, but not many and no gilt-edge opportunities from which we can draw comfort.
We’re simply not good enough. We’ve lost four in a row.
Charlton 0 MK Dons 2
Over to you.

There were only two players in that side tonight who will be here when we eventually win promotion (providing they don’t move on to better things beforehand).
Dobson and Lavelle.15 -
What a great player Lewington still is - composure and a sweet left foot. Better than any of ours

I appreciate emotions run high straight after a game, but this is the most spineless, gutless & worst Charlton team in my lifetime & probably the worst ever.
We are fucked!9 -
The talk about 'only' being 6 or so players off promotion are so so wide of the mark.
We need a complete overhaul. That includes players, management, recruitment and senior leadership.
There is not a single part of this club that is working as intended and TS needs to sort it out before the summer.20 -
Shameful.1
-
Don’t like it when things go shit and people start turning on other fans. This whole pile of turd lays with the players, the coaching staff and those in senior positions. A total mess from top to bottom and everything needs changing in the summer.15
-
Needs a major shake up, from top to bottom. Or this will be groundhog day every season.

Hate to say it but 6/4 MK Dons with that CAFC line-up was like printing money.
Dunno realistically where we go from here.1 -

Jackson completely at fault again.
sent them out with a shocking shape, no game plan and just bizarre team selection.
have to laugh, jackson who during the week says he wants more physicality this and next season , then decides to change play to have two 5’something midfielders as strikers! Beyond a joke
yes injuries have hurt us, but we have to plan B - starting to wonder if we have a plan A!5 -
Football-wise it's lowest I've felt as a Charlton fan.
Teams are coming to The Valley and just taking the piss. I've always identified with us being a team that are workmanlike, brave and hard to beat, even when we have bad players. Now we have bad players who are none of those things.
Jackson does not escape blame, he got schooled for a good 70 minutes. Despite us having the same formation, their setup meant they could constantly press our backline and yet we couldn't press theirs. Not the first time it's happened. Once again we also struggled to deal with balls over the top (nine games in a row?) which has not been sorted out on the training ground.
Baffling decision to start Matthews again, who has cost us a goal every game, and cost us another one today.
I don't always think formations are the problem but we have to try something new, even as a 'reset', because it's four straight defeats and we don't even look close to winning a game.
I can only watch with admiration at the quality of player that MK Dons have. The touch, movement, vision, passing, skill. They scored goals we could dream of scoring, yet I bet our budget is more than theirs. Work that one out.

As I said, this squad is an enigma, how we can be that good for 30 mins then go missing for the next 60 mins EVERY GAME
I just don't get it.6 -
Have real mixed emotions tonight.
Feel the comments that verge on saying Jackson Out, need to have a bit of perspective - Feel they'll be saying: "Told you so", when our form picks up the moment we get back Stockley | Washington | Fraser | Aneke under a new man.
Would love to see how any team would cope with names like those four missing from a squad.
In the same vein though, those we do have... They need to stop giving up the moment we go behind, I mean they should be bloody used to it by this point, its been scary these last few years how we've looked so lost the moment we go a goal down.
Need to build a team around George Dobson - As at the moment... Game after game, he's the one player who should be leaving the pitch with any pride, as it is, I bet he's glad he's only got a two year deal at the moment.
Im off to cheer myself up to see how our loan players have done tonight!!18 -
Did you see Lavelle’s defending for the second goal?Callumcafc said:There were only two players in that side tonight who will be here when we eventually win promotion (providing they don’t move on to better things beforehand).

I know it has nothing to do with the game but where is JFC?!?!
We gave a contract to someone who wont even be able to play a game come the start of March1 -
This is a real low point. Jackson isn't the man to take us forward. I don't know how anyone could watch what is currently being served up and think he is.5

Since when was Burstow a 5'something midfielder?sammy391 said:Jackson completely at fault again.

On a serious note, it sounds like he'll be back with the U23s soon1 -
First half we were pretty decent. But we had nothing up top.Heads dropped a little after the first goal. Killer pass for that goal btw.Mason had a good chance, but bounced it over the crossbar.MKD (and I hate to say it) totally outclassed us in the second half.
Thought Castillo looked ok.And that’s it.2 -

The Good:
I didn't suffer a six-hour round trip to watch that.
The Hoover.
Another game closer to the end of the season.
No closer to the relegation spots, still a nine point buffer.
Half as crap as Saturday, in that we only lost by two.
The Bad:
One game less to secure safety.
No shots on target ... at home.
Another injury to a striker, this time it's Mason gone crook.
The Ugly:
Our defending. F*** me that's grim. For both goals the scorer was all on his lonesome.
Everything else.1 -

The alternative was to throw in Kanu / Campbell who could yet have their development put back by this sort of form the team is in - We've seen it before, not just with Joe Pigott, yet Karlan Grant toosammy391 said:

Not even a shot on target says it all really nd Jackson tell the end of season0
-
Players out are killing us, potentially 4 strikers now, Fraser, JFC, CBT maybe Innis as well.....and that would hurt any team BUT apart from the first 20/25 mins we were chasing shadows, not competing, look beaten as soon as 1 goal goes in.....no fight.....this is not a squad I recognise......glad as a ST holder I cant make midweek games due to work......next 3 games...3 losses I think. Just pathetic....62 years supporting and Im just staggered at the ineptness of this squad.....really saddened.2

Our fans more or less demanded that we bring Jacko in. He was brought in. If we demand more changes we really are just turning into one of those Clubs.22
