  • Bob's lot offering 12/1 on relegation. With our forthcoming run of game's I am tempted. If only bet365s cash outs weren't so miserly...

The entire playing staff from players, coaches, medical, fitness, the lot, together with guitar boy, junior and burger boy are laughing at us thinking to themselves - 'we take the piss every match and yet they still support us'. They must think we are a bunch of clueless morons yet the reality is that they are a bunch of useless, lazy, arrogant, talentless cunts.

No more - I'm done with it all.
    Good summing up Bob
  • Some of the comments about Inniss are slightly unfair, as he's being asked to do something he can't do. We're not going to replace Inniss and Lavelle with Van Dijk and Laporte this January, so we need to play in a way that accepts that they are crap on the ball. The likes of Chapple and Rufus would have been terrible at tippy tappy stuff around the box, but it didn't matter as we played to their strengths.

Instead we have centre backs that have been told they have to play in a way that's alien to them, hence the indecision at the back where players who would have launched it last season, instead dally on the ball or try to "pass" their way out of trouble. Disastrously.
100%. Ironically we did well in the 1st half  and there was very little passing around the back, ball was moved forward quickly
  • It’s very sad, but we all need to accept football is not what up it was. There is only one fact now and that is - money. TS thought he was wealthy enough to do all that was necessary to be a success in football. He now knows he is not.
it has changed too much. The money that Richard Murray etc put in made a success for 7/8 years that would not be enough today.
players wages, agents fees etc have made the game elite for a select group. We do not even own the main asset- the ground.
Is it to late to recover- I fear yes.

I saw Bonds in The Glades around 3 weeks ago, he's still in the shape he was in the 70's.
As fit as a fiddle no doubt.

  • Hayes should stick to what he's good at and get back to running the museum.
And take his assistants with him 😉.
  • Sad thing is I doubt Innis gives a sh*t

Inniss nearly cost us a goal against cheltenham and has cost us two goals today. There’s nothing unfair about that. If he’s incapable of playing  the way the manager wants to play then goodbye.

    Bonzo's fit?

Good. Play him instead of Inniss, at least he can pass the bloody ball and provide some leadership.

Managers (of whatever line of work):  this is an HR-approved line for any year-end appraisals you have to carry out on your staff.

That line was lifted directly from our employee handbook on 'Managing Performance' (written by me).

  • I'd love to hear what Inniss thinks of his defending - wtf was he doing for the first goal? Seems to have no awareness of what is going on around him.

It was a nice composed pass by Inniss to their player that helped set up the second.🤦‍♂️
  • OP has it right....spot on summary.

Ryan Inniss is a good defender but he is not a good footballer. Management need to simplify his job description....head it and kick it. Our daft "footballing culture" is destroying a good player at this level. Ryan also needs to wise up....keep it simple....dont play to your weaknesses. Its not like they can pair Lavelle and Mitchell and it'll be any better. Avoid mistakes and you will be first choice.

His partner Lavelle isn't worth a spot. Good lad but not up to it. Play Mitchell. Better player already.

Don't take Stockley off...pair him with Aneke. Use Leaburn on 85 mins. Our subs made us weaker, not stronger.

The above whining apart....I actually enjoyed the game. It was eventful and there were lots of good bits. It was entertaining.

That said, this is what a relegation season starts to look like. Even when we play well, we still find a way to let a less superior team back in.....and then let them win....without breaking sweat.

  • Waking up to ANOTHER home defeat is soul destroying - are we really looking towards League 2 football?

Why was Stockley allowed to keep the captaincy after his retrospective sending off at Port Vale? Not exactly showing the required leadership qualities with his actions and on the pitch he doesn't show any either.
Those of us watching the stream / listening to the commentary would have heard Brownie quite rightly digging out Stockley for berating Payne who had made a great run and got a shot off instead of passing. Brownie’s words were to the effect that someone needs to have a word with him about his moaning at other players instead of finding the positives.
    Totally this!
  • MOM was Rovers keeper and rightly so he made 4 excellent saves in the first half when we totally dominated the first 45 and played some of our best football seen for a while ..we were so much in control then the 63 min it changed .. individual errors we seen it at Port Vale with Dobson and McG v Cheltenham today step forward Sean Clare there was no danger why oh why did he decide to pass across our back line to Inniss who we could all see had Marquis next to him .. that pass changed the game then we did it again this time the out of sorts ( that’s being nice ) CBT took the ball from their half back into ours towards our goal and passed the ball again like Clare across  our back line again putting Inniss under needless pressure ..

They did not deserve anything .. but in Marquis they had a proven league one striker .. the same striker we had lined up to sign and the fans threw there toys out the pram .. BG came in and scrapped the deal .. well he was the striker we needed .

MOM Payne was excellent today … but CBT dis- interested performance him
and Raki are not doing there jobs not creating anything..

another footnote Charlton asked Lee Bowyer to be caretaker manager but his agent was demanding to much money

Not like you to have a dig at the supporters when we lose a game

Yes. That was the case before KO and is still the case.

He knows he's there as well because he even looked up before he received possession. Unless he just assumed Marquis would be as passive and lethargic as a Charlton player in how he pursued the ball.
  • All these ‘well respected’ young coaches who think they can get league one defenders to play out from the back can do one. Let’s have a “if in doubt, boot it out” coach next time. Really think we will go down otherwise. We can’t keep losing to teams we are better than by giving them goals.

Largely agree with that. Did think Rak did ok but get the point about not creating too much for others.
