Very good interview with Fleming on Charlton TV. Spot on with the problems. Really would like him to be a prominent coach under NJ.
Is there any other fanbase that gets this hard over someone speaking on camera. Fucking hell
Seems a decent bloke, but I've seen nothing to suggest he's a decent coach.
  • Think the playoffs might just be a bit of a stretch now unfortunately. .
Now you're just trying to improve your LOL score! Ok have one!

Fleming's got us looking far more solid, but we don't look like scoring.
A reasonable performance against a Derby team who are clearly much better than us.
  • Which League 2 stadium are you looking most forward to?
    The Valley at this rate...

Thought we played well and Derby must be wondering why we are fighting relegation. Thought the guy from Harrogate looked very good.

Things may have been different today if we'd had Ikpeazu up top instead of Ladapo. Ladapo's first touch is awful and he couldn't trap a bag of cement. At least with Ikpeazu the ball would have stuck allowing us to support him from midfield. Ladapo might have a better strike record, not that we'll see it, but Ikpeazu or similar is more what we need right now. The lack of midfield creativity is a real worry too. If we slip into the bottom four at some point I'm not sure we have the mental strength to get out of it. Nathan Jones is going to have to ask his mate to help out.

Ness our best player today and I'm pleased for him.

Major major trouble. Massive roll of the dice on Jones. Here’s hoping he can do it. Relegation to League 1 was supposed to be a holiday where we’d batter everyone. Imagine being in division 4...
    Imperative we stay up
Carry on like this and we won't be imagining it!

Each transfer window must get more difficult with our reputation as career killers.
Sorry trying to cheer people up.

56 years ago today Peter Reeves got married.
In the morning and playing in the afternoon.
He was 18 years old and was marking Rodney Marsh that day.
.Some of Reeves team mates were hardly any older Bob Curtis 18, Dennis Booth 18,Paul Went 18 . John Stenson 19 and Bob Willis 20.

for the last 30muutes we played with 10 men and had been without our goalkeeper for most of the second half .

We drew 3-3 , QPR went up and Peter Reeves, Bob Curtis and Paul Went would go on to play over 820 games between them for Charlton.

Just trying to cheer everyone and myself up.

    Sorry.

    Harrogate. Nice place apparently.
Have you seen their league position, in with a good shout of playoffs so might be passing us in the other direction as we drop down.

Honestly, the amount of people taken in by a soft Irish accent is something else, hope none of you are off to Dublin on a hen do, you’ll be anyone’s after a couple
  • Dreadful game - Derby weren't as bad as us.

No attacking threat and the usual defensive error.

Can't see us winning a game.
  • The Charlton fan base is so gullible and unless they wake up and stop checking train timetables we will be in oblivion very soon.
    Fleming talks well....really.
Next week we have to listen to Jones... blah blah blah. Next season in division 2 some other no mark will be spouting off.
The window  like sll other windows was a catastrophe. A bunch of  injured, unfit losers signed to replace another set of injured  unfit losers. All this personified by Gillesphey and Ladapo.
Do fans really believe that Charlie, Scott and Rodwell have the best interests of the club  at heart?
The fragmented, cumbersome structure of the owners, board and smt will inevitably stop us from progressing.
Arguing over wether or not AMB can keep goal or do we need  a 10 is pointless. The problem with our club lies much deeper.

Daisy Daisy, give me your answer do...🙄

You are right they weren’t as bad as us but they looked way off a team that will get promoted.

    Gutted another home defeat
I thought there was definitely some improvement in team but still not good enough the lack confidence in the side stands out a mile
We just got to hope with the new manager coming in will change that as its looking very likely we are going down
Makes Reading a real must win let's get down there get behind the team & make the 12th man count
  • Whoever interviewed Curtis at the end of that game for Charlton, said " we know we've got a lot of quality in our squad... "  As a club we are so deluded in thinking we are better than we are, we're 19th in league 1 for a reason. Cause we're shit. Our players have little to no quality whatsoever. Whose to blame for this? I don't know.

Well i am sure someone will point the finger in the right direction.

Let me begin with the SMT.

Only saw the second half but thought we looked fine if uninspiring. Clearly lacking something going forward but we did look more solid at the back and only conceded because of an error. I think there’s enough there for Jones to work with, I just hope the players buy into it

    Stats mean genuinely.... f all

I agree. Although those stats and what I saw today does give me a bit more confidence for the next two games.

Agreed, they didn't look anything special, time wasting, feigning injury, and a stupid ref taken in by it all, we deserved a draw, and it looked a 0-0 all day long...thing is these top teams seem to have the ability to scrape these wins, we don't seem to have a clue how to break down a resolute defence ...

Right. No they're not and it's not the fault of the fans that we are where we are. Utter Nonsense

19th, 3 points clear of the drop but all of the teams below us have games in hand, including Port Vale with three games in hand and one point behind us.
Nothing to suggest, and one thing being forgotten, is the fact that none of those teams will suddenly turn into winning machines over the next couple of months either.

We're all down the bottom because we cant win games.
    Form from last 5 games:

    24. Carlisle: 0 Points
    23. Fleetwood: 4 Points
    22. Cheltenham: 3 Points
    21. Reading: 8 Points
    20. Port Vale: 4 Points
    19. Charlton: 1 Point
    18. Burton: 5 Points.

They don't need to be winning machines, just better than us.
No. We are 6th from bottom. We need to equal their results
